How did you discover vaping?

I smoked weed from 1970 till about ten years ago when I quit because smoking was causing bronchitis plus I wasn't getting off and the smoking was just grossing me out. So I stopped using cannabis for several months with no regrets. After a while I did miss it so did some research on vaporizers and went to Vapor Central in Toronto and bought a Vapor Genie which is an entry level vape. While I was there the salesman gave me two tokes from a volcano bag and holy shit was that powerful...I walked down the street feeling like I was 20 years old again. I soon upgraded to better vapes than the VG and developed a new love for edibles. I have never smoked since and have never had a re occurance of bronchitis and I now enjoy cannabis more than I ever have in the past.

I watched Super High Me and saw Sarah Silverman hit a Volcano bag. I was intrigued, but super poor. The MFLB came out and while I loved the idea of it, the whole deal seemed difficult to me. Then the Pax hit the market, and I thought it was dead sexy, with its sleek body. I had a friend at my LHS and he got me the employee discount on it, but it was still a nice chunk of change for me to be as disappointed as I was.

Like Aimless Ryan above, the only vapes I've seen in person belong to me. I'm 'the vaper' in my circle, which is cool because I like turning people onto new things. Still, I wish I knew at least one person in RL that vaped.

I heard about the Volcano from my girlfriend's roomate in college. She said it was amazing and "get's you reeeeeaaallllyyy high!". I was really intrigued, but the price was too high. Years later I looked into it again and found out about the mflb and the Pax...but again I couldn't justify the price tag. More time passed and I looked into again and decided on the Vapman. Love it's efficiency and effects. Weed is already amazing through combustion, and a vaporizer just makes it even better...takes it to more magical heights....now I have VAS, which I am patiently satisfying one new vape at a time...Hope to one day try all the other vapes...

I bought my first vaporizer in the late 90s from a local head shop. It was probably a homemade deal, but I have no idea -- it was a big glass dome and had a heating unit that rose up the base into the glass dome. It did not really work very well, but it was fun. You'd load up the heating unit cup, put the dome over it, and wait 20 minutes or so until the entire dome was full of vapor. And then you'd suck on the whip that was attached to the base. The vaporizer looked like those lightning bolt balls you'd see at novelty shops that would make your hair stand up. I first heard of vaporizing from High Times magazine and there was a picture of an old hippie guy with a big glass test tube and a lighter.

Nope! Not homemade, just shitty! Those have been around for years according to some of the earlier posts. We're much better off now man.

Well I discovered vaping on TV a long time ago when I saw someone using a Volcano with a bag in a Dutch bar. Thought it was odd. I first used a vape in 2011, it was a VB rip off that worked nice but broke in a few months. First got serious about vaping in 2015 when I got very ill from IBS. I found this board and @scottg402 found me. He got me one of the first Haze V3's, I gave up combustion and the rest is history. My life has improved 1000 times over.

Hmmm good question!! It will be interesting to read the replies and hear stories!

I remember being young maybe 7 or 8 years old or so give or take. Watching a TV show it might have been the Simpson's or futurama I really don't know for sure or if it was even one of those two.

Anyways, I saw a volcano in one of the cartoons like that and I had a weird pull to it. It was like just in the background not in use with no balloon. It felt like I knew what it was for despite being young. I used to play war craft 3 when I was little and lots of the custom games dealt with drugs so I had experience with marijuana like I knew what it was and it was not a horrible thing etc because one of the games actually had real sensible information about all the drugs it contained. One team was the narc the other were the dealers haha, fun game actually. But I did my research and learned that that fame actually had real information, as funny as it is.

So, when I started smoking I eventually saw volcanoes in the headshops and a remembered the cartoon from my past!

Anyways the first vape I used was the no2 and honestly I preferred it over the arizer extreme q. I used it at a friends house and it seemed pretty good! 366 degrees I think we used. Anyways I ended up using a few different ones like those 60$ boxes or whatever and mflb. I owned and extreme q and then gave it to the friend with the no2 when his no2 stopped working. Now I own an aromed and a solo and soon (Friday the 15th!!) a volcano!!

It must have been about 2010 and I was visiting Amsterdam for a stag do with a few pals. Somewhere along the way I got introduced to a Volcano and the hit I got off it was a revelation! No idea what strain it was, but when I got back I started looking for something that could do the same. Bought a cheap sneek-a-vape gas powered charcoal filtered thing but it just wasn't the same, so did more research and eventually ended up with my first proper vape, the Extreme Q and its gone from there.
