Underdog Log Vapes

Got my cheap $15 tattoo power supply in the mail today and it fell apart the second I took it out of the box :\. The screws don't fit properly so the entire inside circuit board just slid right out of the exterior case.

If there were a higher quality version of this mini power supply, I would buy it in a second because I love the form factor. I'm really not a big fan of a larger VVPS, to me it takes something away from the beautiful simplicity of the log vape itself.

A dimmer with the numbered notches like the Nano would be perfect for my UD. The one I bought on Amazon doesn't have any indicators on it at all so it's tough to remember how to set it. Maybe I should try putting a sticker on it to mark the current setting position...

I need to figure out an elegant solution to temp setting because I'm loving my UD but I need it to run a bit cooler.
It's not elegant, but I just made a scratch mark on the dial where I found my sweet spot

I hesitated to do this and ultimately decided against this because I decided the different strains and outlets would probably have different sweet spots. I like to have my sour diesel at a lower temp than blue dream for example. It depends on what effects I'm going for. With the sd I'm looking for a invigorating day time high that gets me moving and slighly lower temps are ideal for that whereas with the blue dream I'm usually looking for something to help with pain a bit more, and since indica dominant stuff is hard to come by where I live I sometimes get it as hot as it'll go to have more of a sleep inducing effect. I suppose I could mark the 3 or so spots that I most commonly use with the outlet I usually use and figure that those spots aren't gonna be too far off of ideal and be better able to dial it in from there. I think I may use liquid white out to create pseudo notches along the whole thing and then just write down which notches seem to work best with different meds.

This is my temporary solution:

I just put a small sticker on the dial when it was turned all the way up. So now at least I can get a general idea of where the temperature is when I vape based on where the sticker is. Like 12:00 for dark ABV, 9:00 for lighter ABV, etc. (Those numbers aren't accurate, just examples. I still have to play around with it to figure out my favorite setting.)

That's awesome! Where did you get the dial?

Heya Dogs, hope you all had a good weekend. We've been chugging along, loading up the poor mailman everyday with packages headed out to new homes for the holidays.

Quite a few people have been inquiring about when the Holiday Sale will end. It seems some of you are waiting to see how your finances are going to look after the holidays, waiting for a work bonus, etc before buying a Dog.

In light of stuff like the above we're going to let the Holiday Special keep on running thru January so you all have plenty of time to take advantage of the sale.:peace:

Just got my holiday order in and I really appreciate the gift. To anyone who is on the fence about the stainless still stem, if you like the nylon stem then you'll love the SS stem even more. It has a tiny bowl and the taste is fantastic.

Yeah I'm right with you there. I liked it so much I ordered another one. I have the long one for home use but the short one is perfect for travel, it fits nicely in the case I got for the battery pack. I can't recommend the SS stem any more highly, It's my daily go-to stem despite having 15+ other stems.

If you're on the fence, just go for it.

Hey @underdog i was wondering why my direct draw stems came without that little indention to hold the screen in?

Just thought it was odd cause im someone who packs my stems xD so it slides. Not a worry been using the 14mm nong as a direct :p

I think Underdog already mentioned that they changed the SS style tips, they now use basket-style screens like the glass stems and are adjustable.

A $5 pipe cutter could put that indentation there easily though.

Yeah just thought it odd that some of them were ribbed and some not. Been team UD for a couple years and my nylons always had baskets. Maybe im just trippin...more of a lightweight than I thought :D

Just got my holiday dog! It's way smaller than I was expecting and kicks hard! My daily for the past 3 years has been a modded EQ and so far this tiny piece of art has been very pleasant. I opted for the nylon direct, glass direct, and like an idiot I accidentally picked 2 of the nylon 18mm NonGs. I have been trying to read through the forums on my spare time and picked up a dimmer. Any other tips? I am finding that the bowls vape pretty dark but usually It'll be much darker on 1 spot. Do you guys usually mix the ss tip bowls or just take a few rips and cash it?

For dark spots you may be able to avoid that if you hold the stem a tiny bit further away from the heater or if you move the bowl slightly further into the stem. Doing that should allow you to get it nice and dark without getting the dark spots. Alternatively stirring just a bit after the 1st pull can also be really effective at preventing hot spots.

Slowly rotating the stem as you draw will also help prevent/reduce dark spots by spreading the heat around more evenly. :2c:

Thanks for the tips. I've been messing around screen placement, usually placing it just so theres a tiny gap between the heater and screen. Is it too low if the screen is placed like a EQ basket screen towards the bottom end of the tip? I really can't get over how tiny this unit is... about as tall as the stock cyclone bowl on the EQ lol. I'm definitely already tempted to buy more goodies. That ss stem looks sleek.

Also with the unit being so small I noticed the top half of the unit gets pretty hot to the touch.
