Remember a couple of updates ago, when they said they were about to receive all the parts to fulfill all orders?
Remember, I posted 3 weeks ago that I had confirmed my address? They still haven't shipped my purple Ti.

Someone posted an email from Caroline on Reddit, asking what the hold up was on their purple Ti. She replied that they had needed to send out the bodies to get anodized, and were expecting to get them back soon.

So did they REALLY have all the parts to fulfill all orders? Because if the parts are not complete and ready to use because they still need to be anodized, then it's pretty bogus to make that claim.

They are all "Costanzas" over there at GHL.

This is a Festivus for the rest of us thread anyways, a place for the airing of grievances, we're just missing the pole (which looks like a hopper).

I just noticed this on eBay,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Grasshopper...202912?hash=item210749e0a0:g:zaEAAOSwYaFWdHNL
Buy it now for $500, but take note of the eBay account name and the fact that a battery is NOT included. If this is GHL taking advantage of people during the holidays like this, it's a really ashame they are stooping so low. The same account on EBay also has a Grasshopper battery for $50 and the leather sleeve for $75. WTF!

I doubt HL is so precariously balanced that a few overpriced Hoppers would bring them any worthwhile benefit.

Asked them what's the deal, here's Caroline's response:

"We have not forgotten about you. We had to send some more parts for Anodizing. Purple is a popular color. We should get these parts back any day and get your Grasshopper out shortly after the Holiday. "

So what if purple is a popular color? They've known I've wanted a purple one for several months- presumably they have a list that says how many of each color they are going to need, wouldn't ya think?
It's been the same thing over and over since they started shipping- they are out of this color or that, they have to delay the SS ones for a couple of weeks, but can still ship the Ti ones, etc.

Glad to hear they'll get them "any day" now....

Lol , they bend the truth allot over there , i have several emails with Caroline there to confirm my item being shipped , every month they say it is going to be shipped and never does. The famous line i have gotten via email over 5x now is " We are confident we will be able to meet our new shipping estimates " than months go by and it never ships and i get a excuse and the same line when i'd honestly rather just have the honest truth. If they say it will ship next year than so be it but just be honest with me. I kinda have given up already and got a few vapes to hold me off in the mean time.

The Costanza thing is hilarious. Thanks for that.

After a few days with the repaired unit:

- The back end is getting hot, not blistering hot, but before it wasn't getting hot at all (they said this was normal)

- It still functions perfectly

- The battery life still sucks

- The draw resistance is strong, and the mouthpiece screen always gets clogged making it tougher

- One load is about ten hits on 2, another pack and then it's back on the charger

- It requires stirring & patting down a few times per load for best hits

It's pretty nice overall, but if you're a heavy user with a high tolerance, it's definitely not the most ideal for those conditions. I'm finding myself packing it over and over, charging and charging, and manipulating the load when using.

Edit: the flavor is still top notch. Best yet.

You probably won't find much love for your honest post but as someone that cancelled my pre-order and am waiting till they fix QC and my favorite shops start carrying it, I appreciate your brutal honesty.

I think if GHL makes it, then the GH2 will be fantastic, in the meantime I hope they get a handle on the QC issues.

There is probably two things going on here:

1. They have had to replace a large number of units.
2. I am guessing cash flow is tight, lots of expenses and not a lot of new sales, probably a fair number of refunds.

have you tried maybe cutting a pipe screen and placing it ontop of the mouthpiece screen?
i'm sure that will allow for cleaner piece.

But what about the XX number of others who have changed from Bronze or Green or SS to Purple in the meantime?

IMO...the biggest mistake (of many) the GHL team has made is allowing backers to add to their orders when their turn came. Whether it's allowing additional units (most egregious) or the changing of metals or colors, by doing this they lost the ability to "know" what it would take to fulfill all initial orders. :bang:

It also caused many, many of us to wait considerably longer than we needed to. With it being already past the 2 year mark, their primary concern should have been to get all original orders into the hands of those who put their faith in this project. They could have told all backers that they could order additional GH's after all backers and pre-sales were fulfilled, maybe even still offering some kind of discount for their trust.

Any way, just my opinion. I've had over two years to muse over all of this and for the most part have found it all amusing, especially listening to all the whining over it. Have many other opinions, like everyone else, but for the most part I'll keep them to myself.

Dec.14th backer.....still....waiting...for..that.notice. I'm pretty sure it won't be a Christmas present anymore...maybe part of my New Year's Eve celebration though?

So discouraging when i see posts like yours, making me realize how far from my order(s) we still are. It also makes me realize how lofty shipping goals are, and how manufacturing does not seem to be speeding up to a rate that will allow for ample bandwidth any time soon sadly. This is despite what seems to be claims on the contrary over and over again.

If the form factor on this device wasn't the best on the market (IMO), i would have probably already given up when the reports of the weak battery life came in. But i just love the idea of a pocket powerful toker this strong. Basically a wax style pen that works for dry herb is too appealing to give up on.

This talk about whether GHL is lying and the cute ways of implying that they're dishonest must stop now. Nobody here knows whether they have deliberately misled people or have simply been guilty of repeated misguided optimism. You can point out the delays without expressing your opinion on their honesty, and that's what our rules require.

Well this is a rather unfortunate situation. On the 15th, over a week ago, I was told the anodized units should arrive within a day or so, which clearly implies knowledge of the shipment being en route to Hopper Labs. Now, a FULL WEEK later, not only do they still not have these parts, but they're giving the same reply to others?!? This is either deliberate misinformation or something happened with the anodized parts received and there was a lack of transparency on the matter.

Well, shit does happen, and "any day" is pretty vague.
I'm more pissed at them for saying weeks ago that they were getting all the necessary parts to fill all orders. Which turns out not to have been true, since they have been waiting on some parts for at least a week.

Did you not read the post directly above yours?

Do not make any more posts questioning the honesty of GHL in any way!
