Cheap High Quality Bubbler

Sunshinestore said they will have Rattle Cans ready and listed this week.

Unfortunately, they still haven't worked out how to assemble them without sealing the bottom of the perc. Hopefully they figure it out soon.

Who are you speaking with at sss? Is there any sales reps I can ask for by name that speak better English, I've had some trouble with a previous order mainly due to communication.

nondarb,
Hey everyone, kind of a noob question but is there typical/most common sizing and gender for a rig?

Most gongs for vaporizers are male 14-18mm so you're ideally looking for a female rig unless you want to use adapters. With dab rigs female nails are common because heat expands the glass/ti and can crack your piece if its male in female. Or once again, you can use an adapter.

Steven has stated the Rattle Can will be listed next week, but didn't give any timeframe for completion of the Coil Can prototype. Hopefully the Rattle Cans sell well, and the other designs get fast tracked.

@nondarb

On dhgate, messages can only be sent to a sellers account, all the names are made up, and the language barrier is a given. You'll have best results when messaging if you are friendly, patient, and careful to avoid idiom/turns of phrase.

If you're having trouble with a specific communication, you can ask for help in this thread. Others here might have the same issue, or some additional insight.

Dang, I was hoping there was a specific person to ask for! I spoke with them yesterday and hopefully we are all clear on my order.

I ended up making a late night order around $80 getting a few j hooks and solo gongs from SSS, some air stems from zhifa tech, www.dhgate.com/product/2015-new-two-function-mobius-matrix-perc/259562203.html#pd-019 this guy from Stevenlmz, I was weary due to some of your experiences with his QC but decided to take a chance because if how cool this unit is. I plan to use it with my Jhook and 18mm gong whips I've got on the way. In my mind its pretty much an uglier d020-d with whip and J hook capabilities, let's hope it is in function!

I also bought some much needed Keck clips. The fact that I got everything mentioned for less than $80 is ridiculous.

I haven't personally had any problems with Steven, and some of his pieces are among the most praised in this thread. There's a general feeling that his build quality isn't quite as good as a few other favorite sellers, but that doesn't mean his pieces are bad, or that those other sellers nail it every time.

In general orders go smoothly and buyers are happy, and the only time you'll need to worry about communication is if you don't get what you wanted or expected. In those rare instance, people still usually don't have too bad a time getting things set straight.

As @Bongologist said, others are interested in the piece you purchased, so definitely let us know how it works out for you!

Stevens certainly has some of the best designs, but after reading a lot this thread it seems he has a record of occasionally sending out pieces from pile B and charging pile A's price. However it seems to be the exception and not the rule, its a risk I'm willing to take :science:. I'm not overly concerned, just hope mines strait.

I'll definitely update you guys when I get it, however I don't ever seem to luck out with shipping and I usually end up waiting 3 weeks or so.

@btka Pyrex is a brand name borosilicate glass. Chinese glass is just fine.

So @Bongologist I tried boiling some of the tubing and it didn't seem to do it smell/taste wise for me, so I tried some iso too though may not have been necessary. Seems okay, but I guess the issue with the silicone is things sticking to it right? (btw feel free to pm me the reason if you dont want to share publicly, i am on the edge of my seat man!)

Anyway despite that i think i have to say i feel pretty satisfied since its already proving to be quite versatile (I have another plan involving Lily...). Even while i still wait for the 18mm female whip adapter from Green Buddha (will update when it arrives), I was able to finally rig up the tubing to use Evo with the FC-MOD main can and Evolver HydraTree:

QKYPKpO.jpg

I used one of @Ratchett's old 18mm SonGs inside an 18mm female dome from a dhgate bubbler, with the tubing inside it stretches the SonG just enough to seal tightly in the dome and stay there. Then the other side is just on an 18-18 male-male adapter. You can even see vapor fill the dome which is neat

Anyway yeah so the FC-MOD with HydraTree is pretty great, double perc doubly smooth as hoped. Don't think I need the ashcatch as I suspected but maybe some day... Love the showerhead perc as well (still ufo-curious, definitely get why people like circs now!), its amazing on its own with the dry mouthpiece (which btw is also pretty amazing on top of the Evo dry...) with Evo inverted and I can't wait to try it with the whip. Much better leaving Evo upright, its all pretty hands free like this actually, though I clear by removing the dome.

So that Green Buddha whip adapter came today actually, it is quite thin at the top (had to fold the tubing over to fit, so thanks for that tip @Bongologist) but for $7 shipped pretty nice. Was worried about them coming through bc I saw some weird stuff company wise but all worked out well. However I think I need a short piece of tubing, or its wierd doing right angle one one side and straight one the other? Either way it is working at least, no real problems yet and I still have the dome too... Allows me to use Evo with all my glass now, and opens up possibilities for other vapes too, fun stuff

Actually, Pyrex is a brand name, but it is no longer borosilicate glass.

I don't know when they state the glass is "pyrex" if they intend to mean it is borosilicate, or a bunch of melted down broken cookware that has been recycled.

Older Pyrex was borosilicate, but they changed (i believe) about 20 years back to a glass that isn't quite as resistant to temperature differential (but is still pretty good,) but is more resistant to shock. I read this on the internet so it must be true.

is the chinese glass safe for health? And what is the difference between borosilicate and pyrex?

@nondarb

Modern Pyrex sold in the US is tempered soda-lime glass. Soda-lime glass is the same glass that's used to make windows and bottles. Pyrex is still made of real borosilicate everywhere else in the world

Some people think Chinese sellers may use soda lime glass instead of borosilicate. I have no idea if that's true, but if it is, those products would still be no more dangerous than modern US pyrex cookware.

Question for the forum... can I put boiling water in my D020-D and V2 FC-UFO to get these things clean or is that risky? This cheap Chinese glass actually seems pretty rugged but maybe near boiling water would be too risky.

I can not answer you if you can use hot water to clean...
but I like Isopropyl alc. for cleaning...
put iso in your glass, shake it let it sit for a while then pour the iso back in its container for further use in the future...

I've cleaned mine with boiling water many times without issue.
I do heat it up with hot tap water first to minimize thermal shock though, I figure better safe than sorry when it comes to cheap glass which probably isn't boro.

I've had my D020-D for a few month now, of vaping with my Inhalater 05, and occasional dabbing (nil combusting ) yet I've not bothered to ISO/salt wash it yet.
Despite this it's usually clean enough that you'd have to look very close to know it wasn't brand new and unused.

Iso and epsom salts seems to be the standard for cleaning glass, some use hot water. The only problem is, resin itself is the waxy materials from the plant that gets left behind from combustion, which is why water doesn't work well for glass that's been smoked out of. THC and most other cannabinoids are fat soluble, meaning that they're also generally hydrophobic, so the problem still remains. They are soluble in alcohol though, and salt works to loosen it up.

Also, I pulled the trigger on that D020-D from sunshine store. I figured the extra $10 on an already very cheap piece of glass, was worth it. Plus sunshinestore is pretty great!

Anyone have good suggestions for what to pair with the Herbalizer? It has pretty much flawless and unrestricted airflow, and I have good lungs so anything is on the table. I had a 3 foot tree perc straight tube, but I'm looking for something smaller on DHgate.

What's the go-to piece for huge hits? Already own the D020-D so I'm looking for something that can really pool up a ton of vapor

Wow really? My dad collects old lab glass among lots of other junk, interesting they changed in us only. I'll have to ask if he only collects the boro, thanks for info. The only glass I've run across I'd specifically avoid is the "carnival glass" that flaky soft mess of recycled colored glass they used to make cheap bongs out of.

Stevens supposedly shipped it out. D020's getting wore out in anticipation.

I was referring to Pyrex cookware specifically. I'd guess US Pyrex lab glass is still made of borosilicate, but I have no idea, and would be interested to know what you find out from your dad.

I've purchased some old borosilicate Pyrex cookware myself. If you see Pyrex cookware at a garage sale or thrift shop, and the makers mark doesn't specifically say it's not stove-top safe, then it's made of borosilicate.

I'm 100% positive that it is. We use it in my college lab, and it's definitely boro. A few labware sites I've looked at also market it as boro glass. They probably switched over for cookware because it's cheaper, and most food prep just doesn't need the properties that boro does, whereas a lot of lab work would suck without it.
