*UPDATE #2*: EasyVape - Vapor Genie - MyrtleZap - Supreme Vaporizer

The Supreme is a good vape, but these days, with all the portable options we have now, it's too much of a pain to use, IMO. And you're in for some real pain if that hot heat exchanger gets on you anywhere. I had no problems using it with a clear head, but once you get high it can get dangerous if you're not careful.

He does seem to be including a better torch these days. The little one he used to ship with the vape just didn't cut it. If you're gonna buy a Supreme, check eBay. He (supremev=Ed) sells there for $170 delivered.

hey kumar, is it awkward holding a piece of molten above your head to hit it?

EDIT: By molten I meant molten lava (extreme temperatures on that metal bit). Seems like it would be scary to hold above your head (esp if you were in a car...unless maybe with a sun roof).

Thanks for the kind words regarding the mz. Your wife's pictures were really good, kinda inspired me to start looking at cameras.

I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking the Supreme was too inconvenient to use, when there are so many easier options on the market. I basically don't even consider it a portable due to the operation, more like a transportable. Hopping into a public restroom is 10x easier with the Vapor Genie, for example.

But if you want to turn a little pile of herbs into a big cloud of vapor, the Supreme rocks. It will roast every particle of herb in the bowl down to a golden brown, concentrated in just a few big puffs, without letting any herb go undervaped or burned, or letting any vapors escape.

The trade-off is in convenience. A little vapor ritual doesn't turn me off though.

And if you email Ed (purevapor@yahoo.com), he'll probably sell it to you for less than $170.

What's molten? I guess it's not as awkward as trying to get a giant hit from a MyrtleZap. Actually the direct hits aren't really more awkward unless it is reground ABV, because then you may get some ABV powder in your mouth. The Whip eliminates this, and I have decided the whip is more comfortable, and gives you even crazier hits because the vapor cools down.

Remember: The inconvenience of the Supreme is not in the hitting, but rather the packing & heating. IT HITS LIKE A DREAM (if you dream of runaway freight trains), but the setup leading to the hit is where it could really stand to be improved.

BTW, I dig your LED-less MZ.

No videos because I haven't got a video camera.

wow, really excellent writeup man just recently i became aware (again, ive seen it before but had forgotten about it) of the supreme, i might even got one for myself, i love the simple yet well engineered design of the heat exchanger and the thermometer is a really nice touch. ive been searching for a while for a high extraction efficiency vape (the vaporgenie works well but is a bit inconsistent for my taste, and takes a bit too much focus during the hit) to use for both huge hits and low temps

a few questions;
1. does the supreme need to stay vertically oriented? what is the mechanism in place that would keep herb from going up into the heat exchanger

2. it looks like you can heat it then just dump some herb in the back, shake it to get it in the bowl put the screen in and go, is that an accurate description of the usage technique?

3. have you tried low temps with it (i mean really low temps, near invisible vapor but a sublime buzz)

4. what about stirring? it seems that it surrounds the herb with heat on all sides like the pd and mz, does this remove the need to stir?

5. not really a question, a suggestion i picked up in my reading from dadornta on mj.com, you can get one of those ove glove things (kevlar or nomex oven glove) to satch it, since the fabric they are made of id very heat resistant theoretically that could compensate for a lot of the cooldown time before stashing it

6. how much did you pay for it? if and when i decide to get it, im going to email ed and see if i can get it cheaper without the torch, geitting an additional discount from haggling would be even better

7 what is the capacity, if you dont have a scale handy it would be helpful if you could tell me the relative capacity in mz bowls

9. do you know what kind of wood its made of or if he could do custom woods (ill probably have to ask ed directly on this one)

i think you hit the nail on the head about it being more of a transportable than a portable. something that you would take to a friends house but not something you can take a quick hit in a concealed place (ive got the lb for that)

It's far from the norm to make a thread comparing 4 very different vapes like these. You shouldn't expect all replies to fit your comparison theme. If you don't want to address questions here on the models you've made the thread about, we can keep the thread solely about the comparison aspect by closing it.

AoZ seems interested only in one of the vapes, which is fine by me, and since he had so much to discuss on the matter, I made a different thread to answer his questions and other questions people might have. That way seemed better at the time.

Far from the norm, but no harm, right? Certainly close the thread if the comparison aspect doesn't have value and the VG/MZ/EV discussion is redundant. I'd hoped that a 4-way comparison might give people a baseline if they had ever tried one of the four types, and were curious about any others.

hey kumar how does the supreme work with a regular stove element like you have a picture of? same vaporizing expiriance but with no butane? i emailed the inventer and he specifically says do not use any kind of stove to heat it but im more interested in using the stove with the sv when in the kitchen watching tv and whatnot any problems with burning the wood on the stove or just torch clumsiness thanks alot
