Well, that all may change, because... IT'S HERE

The first of my glass came in, the D020-D from SSS. I've only had it for an hour and a half and I've already had two incidents with it. It's been a long fucking time I've had a bong, brothers- know whadda I mean? I don't know how but the bong burped and pot went everywhere- I was so stoned I couldn't stop cracking up. Barely could log on and post these pics! Anyway, sure can pull all the flavor out of the bowl quick is what I've noticed, so might be toasting more flavor chasing and having better ABV!!! LOL- I'm baked...

So here is the collection I've amassed due to my FC advisors here, Solo, Ed's stem and backup glass stem from Puffitup, GonG from PV, D020D from dhgate:

I had messaged SunshineStore about a GonG for the solo, but they misunderstood and sent a 18mm/14 reducer with the kit which is a happy accident to be honest. It was free anyway! I have already ordered their knockoff Solo bowl/GonGs and who knows if they work, but either way the reducer is something I needed anyway as I want to order an Ed's WonG to use and it's 14mm. The reducer is more expensive too so I am happy with this free gift. Is there any reason I can't use the stem I have in the below configuration in the meantime while I order the WonG from Randy? I like the PV GonG but it seems the Ed's stem and it's tighter draw might be good.

The tracking is shyte on dhgate but if any indication my glass from Steven will be here in the next few days.

Question, is it no worry to heat the device upside down while on the D020D? Or heat it up separately with the GonG then invert it on the water tool? Or does it matter?

My FC 187 looks like it?

I use the FC UFO the most however for the SOLO I find the D020 to work the best!

Suck, Blow were common terms back in High School!

It was fun at 15!

I forgot to give mention to the D022?

Figured I'd check back in now that I've had my GonG for a bit.

Don't know why I didn't order one these earlier. Funny thing is I'm rarely using the Solo through water. I threw a J Hook in with my order and it makes an amazing Solo accessory. Cheap too. 20 Canadian Dollars and 10 minutes with some Bar Keepers Friend (mildly abrasive glass cleaner I use on my glass cooktop) to remove the silly logo.

I own a few vapes now but the Solo was my first.

Of all the vapes I own the only one I would replace if it broke is the Solo. And I'd place the order the second I figured out the problem couldn't be fixed with a new battery, power charger or a reset.

Beginner's luck.

I ordered the GonGs from SSS last week myself. With an ash-catcher too just for fun that should work on my FC-UFO when it gets here. Why not, this Chinese glass is so cheap. But the only j-hook that SSS has I don't really like. You guys buying your j-hooks from PV?

Why don't you like them?

There was this SMOKE SHOP less than a mile from my house.

Jhooks were $11 - $12 and I got one still today 5 years later?

The SSS I have bought 2x and will order another round.

If I didn't have LIMESTONE floors I would use AGUA LABS.

PHVES GonG's i buy from PLANET VAPES.

I actually got mine through sss in a package type deal, I'm not a huge fan of the rounded MP either. I almost ordered the UFO but got this: www.dhgate.com/product/product/2015-new-two-function-mobius-matrix-perc/259562203.html/259562203.html and a whip attachment. The idea is basically a d020-d/pseudo-UFO I can use with both whips and J hooks. FC mod was high on the list as well, but I believe there might be little too much percolation for my liking.

I'm still really enjoying my Odyssey Kush, great daytime hybrid and super sweet. Having such tasty meds makes the broken gong not such a tragedy, for now anyways..

I just ordered the same piece.

The UFO, 187, 186 and all the D-series except for the D020-D
Plus I have many ASH COLLECTORS.
Also I have custom waterpieces made.

I have different mouthpieces and happen to like the rounded MP.
My BENDER mouthpiece is the best of the best.

In the 70's until 2011 I only liked ZIG-ZAGS because BONG'S had a big Large gaping hole for a mouthpiece.
My RASTA friends liked BONG'S whereas I only liked papers.


What I'm saying is we like different things.

There is no right way?
Just a way!

I don't really mind the rounded one terrible but it's not cheap on SSS, $22 I think? Shipped though, so that's not bad I guess. I like the idea of one that stands up!

You guys getting that dual function Mobius... should be a nice piece. I saw that and was like- wow. Make sure to post pics! I am curious how it is with the SOLO

I was a Zig-Zag guy for 2 decades! And Camels! One or the other sometimes both!

The only fellow I recall that used the factory stem directly used 'a cheap gas station plastic bong' replacing the broken downstem using the original gasket (which he may have 'carved out' a bit?). Not, I think, what you want.

However there are a lot of WTs out there that use GonG fittings so guys use GonG adapters (like from PV and PIU) to fit standard 14 or 18mm connectors. A popular model WT for use with the Solo on this forum comes from DHGate, model D20 I believe? A post with photo of it's cousin D020-D is at the top of this page.

I thought this might be the case. I was considering just buying a bubbler rig with a GonG from planetvape but was thinking I'd go with the cheap option first. Thanks for the info

Here's a solo gong from a reputable vendor: www.dhgate.com/product/product/new-arrival-glass-tobacco-smoking-built-in/260993616.html/260993616.html however its a new product with no confirmed owners so who knows. I ordered some last night but shippings usually 2-3 weeks.

There's also the plastic tipped Air stems that mate up with 14mm already:

A work around I've found for the gongless is a piece of nylon or silicone on the tip of the standard stem. Mates up with 14mm perfect.

Been having quite a night with my new V2 FC-UFO from Steven. I ordered this and the D020-D at the same time half expecting at least one to be delivered broken, but now both pieces arrived for holiday break! And a new batch of Indica Kush! Happy night here my fellow Solo fans!

I've purchased locally a beaker-style bong that could use the Solo stem like that. Managed to break both (damn fragile percs) and now I have a different style that will too, but it pairs even more nicely with my PV gong.
