Do you vape until vapor production stop?

Volute of Vapor
Hi, I ask that cause I always stop vaping when there is still vapor, especially with my conduction vaporizers!

Only the minivap is producing tasty vapor to the last bit.

I read in the Haze thread some people are closing a session at level 4! Most part of the time I used 1&2 and sometimes(with a WT) level 3. With my inhalaters this is the same if you increase t° at the end you continue to get a ton of a sort of vapor mixed with smoke imho, isn't it?

I know some people told us cbd is released when all the rest was already vaped at the end of the session....although i'm more interested about THC...

Any thoughts?

I keep some abv box for some milks or edibles, but I stopped to save all of my abv since i get quasi unlimited flowers access (for the moment...).

Although my question was more about different sort of heating lead to pure vapor or to combustion edge...?

Conduction high temp produces lot of thick hits rather sweet for the throat(cause it's not only medicine...) and even if you aleady get a very dark brown load it continues to produce thick vapor (but a bad taste...sure).

Convection high temp produces some thick hits but size diminish after some hits and they are a lot more agressive for throat and make me cough (I think cause it contains only medicine and no trace of smoke...)

Depends on the vape being used, the temp, and the taste being produced. Too hot and the taste isn't so good for me. So I always keep below 190c. With the Volcano every last bit of vapour taste good. But with the Mighty this is not the case so Im usually better off putting it down after the flavour has gone.

Depends on the vape. With slow conduction vapes like my Air, I'm ususally looking for a laid back session lasting 20 minutes, so I puff at various temps until vapor production stops.

Other vapes like my Nano I take two milky rips, maybe a third, and then empty it. Still vapor left, but too lazy to extract all of it with that vape lol.

A lot depends on what type of bud I'm vaping for me. Some bud I can vape until the vapor production trails off. Other strains I have to stop vaping because I can easily go into combustion. Right before combustion vapor production starts up again, but I avoid this vapor. With the first type of bud it's easy to avoid this vapor, and going into combustion, but with the second type of bud, the continuum from vapor to smoke is more blurred. I don't know if this is a product of the strain or grow conditions, or if it's a product of how dry the bud is.

I'll vape until it starts to taste nasty.

For me, I've noticed that if I vaporize past that point, even if the vapor is still visible, it no longer affects me. Just so happens that when it begins to taste nasty, it is also a very dark coffee brown.

With my Pax and before my PNP broke I would vape until there is no more vapor production. With my Crafty I typically stop once the vapors become wispy, I do this mainly because I do not want to waste my precious battery life on so little, I would like to prevent my crafty from overheating, and like most people here my AVB will go to a good cause :brow: :chill:

My Air sessions are 2 stems under 200c & 1 stem at 210c through water. There is nothing of note left at the set temperature when I finish the stem. I have at least 100g of ABV sitting in a bag in my kitchen. I really should make some butter or oil with it over Xmas .

I vape my load until vapor nearly stops. I find the SSV squeezes all the juice from the lemon in about four or five long draws. I like to turn up the heat a bit and slow my draw at the end of a load to extract every last drop. My AVB goes in the round file (trash can).

Awww, I still save all my ABV, as charred as it sometimes can be from the almighty SSV.

Made up some rice krispies treats last night with some ABV coconut oil, this weekend's gonna be goooooooooooood

I generally stop when my stuff is done. No visible vapor and the taste you can tell it's done. When that happens I stop. Some say this is the burnt popcorn taste. To me it's not exactly that taste but I can tell it's done by the taste. My product is always cooked evenly too.

For me it's the vaporizer that decides when I stop hitting it not the visual vapor ....

I rarely if ever see vapor when using the MFLB BUT it still gets me really happy. I decide it's done when the ABV is black specked and dark brown.

For the Solo once I no longer 'see' any vapor - I jack the temp to 6 and take 2 more hits before emptying the ABV even though I can't see any more vapor at level 6.

If I take a flashlight in a darkened room and breath the hits from the MFLB over it or the Solo on the last two hits at level 6 I will see vapor that is not visible without the flashlight.

I go until flavor drops off for my vapes. I figure that will leave me a little bit for cooking with and doesn't seem to take anything away really, other than another couple of puffs of visible vapor. I can't really tell any difference in the effect stopping when the flavor is gone vs vaping until no more vapor is made.

I had pondered this same question for a couple of years until a friend of mine tried vaping and smoking  some of my ABV with little to no effect other than a mild headache. I still get mesmerized from some of the vapor swirls created in my Aromed's glass and wind up vaping longer than I had planned but I usually quit sooner with other vapes when the taste degrades and I feel I've extracted enough for a good high.

I know some people told us cbd is released when all the rest was already vaped at the end of the session....although i'm more interested about THC...

Any thoughts?

i used to continue a session too long ... lately, i'm trying to micro-dose and put a smaller amount in the vial, and, i give the vial an additional 30 seconds to heat soak, after the "take a toke" led starts flashing (total time now 2 minutes from startup) ... the result is i watch a much thicker vapor flow through the draw tube, for 3 or so hits ... then the vapor tapers off enough to be noticeable, and i stop the session. more herb in the vial requires a stir or two. temperature sweet spot is 392°F/200°C.

okay, so that's subjective.

i used my 60x-100x microscope to look at the herb before and after the session. virtually all the trichome heads were gone after 4 hits - just trichome stalks remained. so i now think that little wispy vapor at the end of the session is from the remaining plant waxes and leaf material, where virtually no THC is stored. The ABV looked caramelized.

tl;dr - i used to vape until all vapor production stopped, but no more. quicker sessions, just as effective.

can someone tell me why we shouldnt vape until the vape stops?

arent we still getting the effects of TCH (or what ever other thing) with each vape as long as vape is being released?

Its like asking someone if they drink their entire beer or leave the backwash.

@lwien describes the same approach that I took with flowers (I don't really consume them anymore).

For dabs, it depends what I'm dabbing.

5 star full melts that leave a little more carbon on the nail I will inhale until flavor is gone (there are still definite vapor trails even on the sapphire halo but this stuff is not good tasting, just degradation products in an aerosol soup coming off of the 5 star carbon residue cooking off on the enail).

When it comes to shatter/rosin etc I dab until visible vapor is finished :D Less degradation aerosol to avoid here ;)
