I only had sporadic access to concentrates before I saw this thread:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/rosin-technique-easy-diy-solventless.17470/

A quick trip to Walmart and less than $40 was all it took. In 15 minutes, with no previous experience, I made 3 dabs, each from a unique strain.

Be careful though, it's kind of addictive once you start. The E-Nano and concentrates are a match made in heaven.

I've thought about trying rosin several times and have surfed that thread in the past. My only concern is how much medicine gets left behind in the flattened bud chip? I don't see a lot of rosin stuck to the paper after you squeeze a nug that may have given you 5-6 bowls if vaped as usual. Yet so many talk about how great it is.

Maybe I should just grab my wife's iron and risk a bud for science :science:

I vape the leftover bud too, it produces a lot of vapor. It's great for the night time, and the concentrate is better during the day for me.

It's generally cheaper to just buy the concentrates but then you don't always know if it's free of solvents, contaminants, etc. I just like to play around with it here and there, it's nice to have some beautiful, tasty, smooth concentrate and know that you made it.

I have to give credit to the E-Nano. It's only because of the power it contains that I ventured down the concentrate path. And then one thing led to another...

:worms::worms::worms:

Four months in and that's how this whole vaping thing feels. It's opened up a whole new world of possibilities to me. It can be overwhelming at times but it's awesome nonetheless.

The nano allowed me to fuck combustion and never look back. Tonight I'm rocking some slow cured Burmese Kush and the flavor is superb. Earthy with a hint of mustard, I swear. The E-Nano really delivers on the flavor front!

So I had the silicone on my gong up to the rim almost for a few times. I've left my nano sitting on it a few times. But yesterday I was trying to just peel it back so I could see my herbs, and it seems that the silicone melted to the gong, just a tiny stripp is glued around it.

I was wondering if this is safe to use now, it was the silicone that came with the gong itself. I've got 99% iso and was curious if it would disolve it off.

I use ISO to clean my Nano glass with and I have yet to see any indication that the silicone sleeve was softening up. However the sleeve never glued itself to the glass so maybe you got a bad one? As to safety I think the biggest threat is getting burnt on the bare glass.

That's what I mean.

Should I be worried?

I've never cleaned the sleeve with iso before, it's like it just melted to the gong :\

I clean my stems by soaking them in ISO for 72 hours. I submerge the stem including the silicone sleeve and screen intact. I use the plastic container that the stems come in and I add ISO about a 1/3 of the way.

I haven't had any problems with my silicone sleeve deteriorating. I rinse with hot water afterwards and dry the stem and it's clean.

Huh, I'm surprised to see so many others are settled in the 6-7 range. I just leave my e-nano on my desk at 7.25 and use it to take delicious rips of vapor from my water pipe. I just assumed others would have ended up in approximately the same place.

I'd say with some inbetween stirring I get 2-3 large hits per load.

I imagine the glass will be fine as long as you get all the silicone off. I noticed a little off gassing from the sleeve if I left the nano inverted, it gets too hot. Obviously they deteriorate so now I keep the sleeve further away from the heat source & never leave the nano inverted for more than 10 or 20 seconds. The nano is awesome.

I've been on 6 for the past few days now, it doesn't get as dark as I would on 7.5 but the flavour is just too good on this to give up now.

Totally agree, but our two nanos probably run at a similar temp. I'll say this, after sitting on the same setting for over 2 hours the nano is hotter than after the first half hour. I wonder how long it truly takes for the unit to get to full temp at level 6.

I don't use any balm ass butter on mine. I wipe my hand on my forehead and just rub in that naturally produced grease to shine up the old nano. Ha Ha, atsa gross :spliff:

I hear the newer power cord/temp gage should be fairly universal far as heat goes. I hear also that different electrical outlets could make a difference. I personally haven't noticed that.
Yes receptacles will vary their voltage output throughout the day. They have ways to monitor this if anyone is interested. I recently did some testing throughout the day and the range I found in my home was 116-120volts. Using multiple loads on the same circuit will cause voltage drop, times of day will also affect this. I also think wood properties also play a big role

Just switched my PD to a separate wall outlet, instead of the power strip I had it plugged into. (which had a ton of other shit plugged in there also) Hopefully it will get hotter now.

Got an email saying that my maple burl nano was shipped out today

My e-nano is on the same circuit as my desktop computer and some speaker amplification, so maybe that plays in to my landing at a higher number.

I also have a walnut e-nano for full disclosure.

I'm hitting the E-nano exclusively tonight for the first time in a week or so. I've been experimenting with the Lotus. I absolutely love it too, but I find it hard to resist the temptation to vape your herb until it's a dark brown (oh, I can apply heat for just a second longer!), and I also found myself hitting it too often because it's so damned fun to use (I know, some gripe, right?).

Anyway, nano tonight with Durban × NL#5. Nano is still the best experience out of anything I've tried so far, but boy am I glad I bought that Lotus. It's gonna be incredible for both weekends and quick tokes.

I've had my enano for about two months. Today, after I finished using it, I accidently dropped a water bottle cap directly onto it. I got it off quickly but there is still a small amount plastic in the small holes in the screen on top of the heating element. I had the idea that if I was able to remove the heating element, I could heat and get the plastic off and make sure none is on the heating element, but no such luck. So... Is it ruined?? Is there anything I can do??

Maybe if you keep it on the plastic will just burn off? I doubt you ruined it, that said, not sure an easy fix. Paper clip maybe to fish pieces out.

I've considered that. I'm worried about pushing the pieces down on the element itself. In theory, it should burn off, I think. But I'm terried of inhaling those fumes in my lungs!

You can absolutely remove that SS tube. You will need to disassemble the entire enano to do that though. This is not especially difficult to do but one needs to be careful disassembling the screw that holds the outer SS tube (not the one sheathe over the heater, the big cylinder behind the wood ;) ) to the wood. If you break the little wooden notch there, the wood and metal cylinders move independently and this is no good.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask questions :) I have pulled apart and repaired a nano multiple times with Andy's instruction ;)

When you have the tube separate, I would try cleaning with 100% or as close as possible iso for a long soak, then lightly use a magic eraser and/or flat tip ti dabber to clean any visible plastic off. Use heat as a last resort only because the oxidation caused by a torch flame will alter the thermal properties of your nano ever so slightly ;)

Make sure that there is absolutely no debris or anything apart from SS on the screen or the metal cylinder. Also make sure there are no sharp burs or anything created in the metal heater sheathe itself, be gentle with any scrubbing/picking with metal tools.

Yes please help me!! There is a washer type thing slightly over the heating element that won't budge, preventing me from getting it out. I wish I could post a pic, but I'm mobile :/

Actually, you would be best to remove the electronics/heater from the wood/stainless steel body of the unit first before attempting to remove the heater cover where the plastic is stuck onto. You don't wanna accidentally snap the ceramic heater cartridge inside the metal by forcing it off the wrong way. The heater is the most expensive internal component IIRC.

Which version nano do you have? I wanna make sure with some buddies (maybe even Andy himself) that there have been no major internal differences since the v2 nanos came out.

I use a LOTUS (joint like) however I finish my day with a NANO!

I don't know how to vape by color?

When it taste bad spit it out!

I have a few vaporizers however the NANO is easy to use and the Flavor is what motivates me!

Just liked watered down coffee do it with flavor or go home!
