Micro-dosing

Thanks for the motivation @organic weed ..... at this point in my recovery, I need it greatly. How do you micro dose with your Mighty? How much do you use? Obviously using the pad?

It's SO hard to micro dose when you receive brand new vapes that you want to play with!

I have been on a break for probably just under a month now. And as I'm leaning away from the job offer that forced my sabbatical I am considering reintroducing myself (after all, I haven't gotten to sample my first harvest yet after a proper curing!). I believe that when I do, I would like to try and microcode to keep my tolerance low and stretch my dollar. However, that will likely be a challenge of my will as I have several strains that were harvested as well as others that have recently had Boveda packs added to their jars.

I believe I trust my good old underdog and a nylon tip for this task!

Not yet breaking the fast, but the end is nigh.

@biohacker i did a 2 weeks break and then started with 0.25 and worked my way towards 0.15. Amazingly I'm getting pretty much similar effects. Today I did a 0.10 and a 0.5 and went away with it for 6 hours. Now my objective is going below 0.1... It is working amazingly with me... Hopefully it will continue like that

Yes! That's great to hear.....today i'm on track for a 50% drop in consumption! Only a couple of days ago i've been at 2g/day (have been for years), and yesterday I clocked in at 1.5g and today on track for only 1g! Sleep is better! Dreaming again! Effects are stronger! Mood is better in general! Can't wait to get under .5g! My entire goal is to be able to go some days without it, and still be able to sleep. And checkout my vid of 0.1g in the Mighty thread! Going for .05 next!

I went though a similar process. I found keeping notes on usage and looking at trends over time was really motivational. Good luck with it man :)

I started micro-dosing maybe three or four days ago. I think I did it before I knew there is any kind of tiny-dose movement. Anyway, my daily dosage instantly went from about 0.43 g to about 0.25 g. I wasn't even consciously trying to decrease my dosage.

Thanks bro! The results are continuing! Achieved 6.5hours of SOLID sleep last night! I did sweat like crazy, a bit more than normal, which can be explained by the reduction in dose, especially since i'm leaving 4 hours between last hit and sleep. I feel like a completely different person today! It's like the "fog" has lifted, and i'm happier, motivated, and zero desire to vape? Looks like the window has been pushed again because i'm at 0g for today, and it's 12:35pm!

Damn, now I need to get 1.5g into me in the next 4.5hours! First world problems! :lol:

I do keep notes on usage patterns, mostly daily....you should see my fridge door with erasable marker! I jot down strains, times, doses, etc. and it's been a complete game changer for me. Before this, I would vape when I FELT like it, and when you have VAS as bad as I do, you're always "testing"! LMAO! I would rip through 2-3g in a day and not even think about it.

just split up my last ~0.5g into 25 little ziplocs. had 4 of them for an evening session with some ABV mixed in. pretty much 'yeah'.

What ratio of fresh to ABV are you using? I started at 50/50 mix and had to boost the temp up to around 6 3/4 (Nano) to recook the ABV. I may need to use somewhat less cooked ABV, taste is a bit flat.

@Nesta that is a great article.

For those of us with high novelty seeking brain chemistry and genetics, would microdosing, and then to resist more cannabis just for fun, following up with other herbs, anything in the mint family, damiana, wild dagga, even yerba mate or green tea, or valerian or catnip, etc. work well?

@uhranium, I do that with size 0 capsules instead of the bags. :)

I just got my VG coil last week and I blasted through wayyyyyy too much medicine getting to know the little guy.

I found a similar thing, when I got my vape I cut down from daily to just Fri, Sat and Sun. Weekdays I feel so much more fresh in the morning! For me not vaping to close to bedtime helps massively if im up early on the weekend.
Do you guys keep a log? Like in a notepad or something?.. I might start keeping track of my usage and totals..

When I was cutting down from daily to weekends I had a little pot I would dump my ABV into. At the end of the weekend I would weigh the contents of the pot and make a little note on my iPhone. I don't do it now as I try not to be too obsessive about it, I just try to keep it under control more organically. However some weekends I still weigh just out of interest if it's been a particularly heavy or light weekend. :)

Not perfectly accurate, but enough to give me a overview. People on FC estimated you loose 30% weight via vaping so you could also work out how much herb you get though, handy if you are swapping between a few different strains

HUGE. I think i'm on day 4 now....and feel like a different person when waking up. And with micros I can still enjoy my medicine! It's so nice to be myself again... I didn't even know I was living in perpetual fog.

I must confess though, my micros were pretty fat yesterday! :rofl:

I micro dose every day except the weekend when it party time. Weekday dosing is between .1g to .08g daily while on the weekend I can burn through .4g to .5g a day. Happily the larger amounts don't spoil the medical effects I need from the smaller weekday doses. However there is a tendency for me to want larger doses on Mondays and Tuesdays but it is manageable. Different folks, different effects I guess when it comes to dose sizes and effects.

I micro dose with the Pax 2. Just take a tiny finely ground pinch, tap it into the bottom, hold the Pax 2 upside down, use 3rd heat setting and get 2-4 clouds. It works well although my biggest problem with micro doses is the temptation to do more :science:

I just came here to ask what units people are using to micro. I've got both the Ascent and OG DaVinci, and am interested in experimenting with micro-dosing..

As far as technique goes, @whereskarlo - do you turn the unit upside down to avoid cooking your herb before you are ready to draw? I'm not very familiar with the Pax, but from what I gather it operates in a similar fashion to my Ascent (conduction heating, oven chamber with open top).

@Amargi with the OG davinci you can heat it up to vaping temps and Then add your pinch of herb to start with a fresh green hit and it works great, instead of loading it before you turn it on and baking your herb while you wait for it to reach temp. I only used the Ascent for a week when it first came out but don't believe it'll work as well as the first Davinci vape when used this way due to the big wide bowl on the Ascent.

I agree with rude boy on the big bowl of the ascent, but with the new glass spacers and some glass flowers, you can cut the bowl size by more than half. I'm a big fan of the glass spacers and glass flowers, and find it produces vapors better than packing the bowl. I'm on the third week of my tbreak, (almost never do t-breaks) and hope to become a recreational user unless medical conditions arise (pain and anxiety).
