Bottacelli 60 mn interview

So sad---
he gets the first part right, that the drug war is a complete failure BUT then says we don't want to add another addicting drug (cannabis). WRONG.

He talks about the legal opiate deaths but is obviously ignorant of the 24.8% drop in prescription painkiller deaths in states with medical cannabis.
Somebody needs to educate him ---- or fire him.

I'd just expect more of someone (him being a gay man) who lived thru society vilifying gay couples, and then society realizing that was wrong. He should do his homework and discover society is wrong on cannabis.
It's very disappointing !!!!

Yeah what's up with that glass of wine anyhow? Isn't he a recovering alcoholic? I thought all the 12 step programs advocate abstinence.

It smacks of profiteering off rehab, does it not? If we can't label it a crime and profit that way, let us label it a disease and profit off it that way, and responsible use be damned. The states' profiting off legalization was a key talking point in the interview.

The glass of wine might be a way CBS can imply hypocritical policy. After all, they did recently run the informant segment casting an ugly light on law enforcement. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/confidential-informants-60-minutes-lesley-stahl/

Well I mistook what I saw, he had a glass of water in his hand! At least he's not a complete hypocrite. The newer direction seems better but the devil's in the details, and I don’t trust the devil or the details. We cant keep locking up people for possession of personal use of any drugs. Ethically it just seems wrong.
