All air conditioners leak water and if you live in an apartment building it's normal to hear an unsteady "tat tat rat-tap tattattat" on your unit during these hot months, from the AC above you. It's life - and it can royally fuck up a good vapor head, and until now I thought there's nothing I could do about it, but I found a good solution to dampen the sound so it's tolerable.

Home Depot sells a product by Frost King called "Air Conditioner Drip Cushion" and it works great. It's a sheet of waterproof high density foam with a magnetic back. Just cut it to size, then drop it on top of your unit and problem solved for about $20.

In the rainy season here we get an infuriating drip in the rain gutters that I solved by wedging a kitchen sponge in the bottom of the outlet.
