Is Rand Paul no longer running? I truly have been half assed following it, as I'm registered Libertarian and can't vote on primaries. Or is he truly just fucked with no shot?

(A precursory google search makes it seem like he's still in it, wonder why not on)

I agree with you above on the 3rd party. More parties period. Politics are something, that are not really a passion of mine, and can be a big passion or interest of others, so I'd rather not talk about it but we can PM if you want my take on certain things or if a good moderate discussion gets going I'll chime in maybe, I don't want to risk offending anyone by either my potential ignorance on an issue or being perceived as rude/blunt/insensitive and offending others with my personal beliefs. I'd be happy to read though, I try to browse the news on this stuff, but like I said I don't really have a great hand on the pulse all the time in regards to this kind of stuff. That said, politics are pretty nuanced and rarely are things cut and dry, good vs evil, liberal vs conservative, democratic vs republican. It's often presented to us in this way I feel, and I don't think that's a good thing at all. Middle ground is usually the best option, and extreme of anything is never a good thing IMO. So I do tend to look at it through my own personal lens.

Not all conservative's are power/money hungry devils with no regards to the common people and not all liberals are hippy dippy socialists. Some are. I feel regardless of if they are or not they are often presented as such, which makes actually getting truthful information such a pain..which is why I tend to shy away from it. The ones who are in the middle are the one's who I would vote for.

Not to diverge.....I am very interested though in seeing how things shake out for both parties and the general USA.

Vote Third Party Candidates For The Win!

So you're suggesting that we vote for Trump?

I guess that Donald Trump will be a spoiler and run 3rd party. I think the main stream republicans will distance themselves from him. Marco Rubio is the only "normal" one. All we are seeing in the polls are the Tea Party lunatics.

Even if he doesn't go independent, Trump leading in these polls means nothing. If he leads the polls by 36%, it means that 64% is not behind him. When the lower rung candidates drop out, I doubt very much that they will throw their vote into Trumps camp. If they haven't already, they won't.

Hell, even Cheney spoke out against him.

The Republican party, as far as this next election goes, was already in free-fall before Trump even announced he was running. He put the nail in that coffin and if he runs as an independent as he is currently threatening, the Republican Party may as well call off their convention and save a bit of money.

All of the Republican candidates are clear and present dangers to progressive thinking, to poor elderly and ill, to democracy itself, to all women, to access to contraception (really folks), to science, reason, rationality, morality, to all-to-be-dead in NRATERRORIST America, to clear thinking about causality and real risk, to liberal marijuana laws, to America, to you.

I said nothing of the sort. I said vote third party. You shouldnt put words in others mouths its bad karma.

My point was that Trump is threatening to run as a 3rd party candidate so when you suggest to vote 3rd party, that 3rd party could very well be led by Trump.

As far as my karma "account" is concerned, I feel pretty confident that I'm still in the black.

What party would that be the 'Look at me Im a Bagillionare Party'? Non PC/Mainstream candidates wont make it anywhere in todays Corporatism Fascist America. Trump included. Some sheep will vote to the left, some to the right, some will will just mosey on around in the middle. At the end of the day the wolves will get their fill. That much I am certain of.

P.S. That 'feeling' you have is from the California Chemtrails. Its gets in our pot. I felt much better after moving from the High Desert (Ground Zero for crazy goverment sky shenanigans)

I am not sure that we as Americans should allow, applaud, praise, trust or tolerate the out in the open crazies who truly are reality unhinged, who would destroy America for security at the mall, follow a 21st century nazi-narcissist or destroy constitutional government by taking up arms against the same.

I am always leery of restricting almost any citizen access to the political system regardless of how I may feel about them or their supporters. You never know who could be the next restricted group locked out of the process.

What makes us 'American'? What do I have in common with a California Surfer, a New York Banker, an Appalachian. Neither religion nor economic status bind us. Nor does race or ethnicity come into play. We are a nation of 'individulists' by and large. Dont bother me I wont bother you. Where is civic pride and duty? Nobody is willing to take responsibility for the state of the nation yet are all to willing to point fingers. There is no solutions just arguments on which way is best to spend tax dollars. In the end the only thing in common is frustration.

They will all keep America safer than Hillary or Obama is what they all are claiming. Plus blaming Barack Obama for all the ISiS bullshit. I think George W. Bush wins that contest.

Remember under whose watch took out Osama Bin Laden, they have amnesia regarding that.

I have to admit, while I conceptually understand what liberal and conservative ideals embody, I fail to draw logical parallels in real life.

Conservatives don't give a shit about state rights regarding even human freedoms such as abortion or marijuana, and the only federal institutions they seem interested in tearing down are just the unimportant things like education, renewable energy, human services... Military spending on the other hand, must increase exponentially every year with no questions asked... Makes sense.

Liberals on the other hand put so much emphasis on safety and regulation and big brother, that nothing gets done. You want to build something? Ok, lets make sure you are compliant with 8 million pages worth of codes which grows exponentially every year... They have wonderful ideas that are so poorly executed as to become a shadow of a joke. The money is spent so inefficiently and the red-tape that democratic initiatives made in the name of safety put a stranglehold on small business is just too much for me to bear sometimes. And while I realize that most corporate regulations are unfortunately necessary to regulate big business, they are, as I said, so poorly executed that they umbrella across so many small time operations which can't afford to conform to whatever new testing or equipment is necessary to appease the safety folks, that they are forced to shut down. How is that a good thing?

What I feel is happening here though, is a bit of an unraveling within the republican party. It's almost become a case of old world meets new world and republican ideology is just not adapting to conform with where our societies moral compass currently lies. A lot of what they are talking about is just obviously racist or sexist or stupid in general. You only need a modicum of education to realize that at this point. Wonder what the next cycle holds. Pretty excited actually! Pretty sure Cruz is the dude for the Pubs.

The person I feel who would put the most energy into doing what I feel is right for the country would be Bernie Sanders. I don't agree with everything he wants, and I don't think Washington would allow him to do much, but unlike Hillary, I know he would try.

You must be joking if you think your party stands for individual/state programs rather than the programs their/your corporate sponsors want them to stand for.

Feel free to :rolleyes: all you want. It's just my opinion, everyone has one, and I don't give a shit if you don't like mine.
