Butane Vapes!

I am leaning towards getting a butane vape or two in my arsenal. The majority of the time they would be used at home with the occasional excursion. The VG sherlock is intriguing & I can get a glass one for the same price as a bronze one but the durability & point of difference with the bronze make me want it. I am also thinking about a Vapman for water use. @Tommy10 did you buy the Hammer & Vapman in Oz? I like the look of the Hammer but sourcing stems seems like more hassle than it's worth.

Or would it be worthwhile getting a walnut hand carved one locally?

Stems is the only problem I have with the hammer if I could find a cheap glass alternative or something more durable I'd be stoked, bought it from a Europe store for $150 aud, got the VM micra for $112 aud locally! which is just a steal, if you're worried about stems get the vapman. If you realllllly want huge tasty convection clouds get the hammer and don't break the stems which I have done twice but this was due to the gasket not holding the stems on as advertised, got new gaskets and stems which work fine now, still had to pay shipping and if I recall the service that hammer themselves use is not that cheap to Aus.

Damm looks like I should have snapped up that Hammer I saw locally for $80 on clearance & been careful as fuck :doh:. Does the VM fit 18mm or only 14mm as that is at the top for water use?

Where did you see the hammer for $80 locally!? Shoumd have snapped up three! Haha. Vapman fits into 14mm although it's a little scrappy. Thinking of buying an ED wood connector for it or turning something up myself for fun as it's such fun in water.

It seems like the Vapman is one of the more popular butane powered vaporizers on the market, like way more sold than most other butane vapes on the market.

That said, I'm personally really interested in the Dynavap Vapcap - it's cheap and it's clicking sound when temp is reached sounds really handy. Although I personally haven't tried one yet, I'm planning on buying one soon

So far, through this thread, it seems everyone loves the hammer for the hits, and vapman for the hits/ design.
I've never seen anyone really riiiiiiip a vapman, only saw those weak release videos. I bet if someone really ripped it it would be nuts. I just don't think it's the best choice for me atm. Keep vouching for it and I might change my mind tho, haha.
Does the VG coil have butane in the vapor path? And what's the difference between the bronze and the coil and the regular. I saw the coil, very funky, but don't know the differences between them.

Vapman is a beast! Don't let the small size fool you! Milks glass like a boss..

Coil is best used with water.. Harsh and sketchy aiming s torch towards my face. Full size VGs are great though. No worries about butane with a clean burning flame

I just bought the coil, there's a learning curve especially since I use it through water exclusively (hard to taste scorch till you exhale) but it RIPS! The coil mates up with 18 and 14mm glass right out of box, it was my super cheap entry into butane vapes and I'm tickled. Don't have the technique down 100% but its fun learning!!

Triihouse isn't currently making vapes anymore but is expected to be back eventually. I'm awfully keen on a daisy myself.

Hammer blows super clouds, as do the VG's never use my VG anymore because I prefer the VM by a country mile. I was concerned about the vapman being a bit dull when I first ordered, but as soon as I started using it my worries were eased. Can 100% rip the thing! I have the coil and it's nice for the price, but I didn't enjoy it that much, although it certainly can blow huge clouds too!

VM can get cloudy!

I'm looking at the VG coil and aluminum bat vapes, and based on their website it looks like I can just use a standard lighter to power it, is that accurate? or do i need a specialized torch for their vapes? One of the things that has kept me away from butane vapes is having a specialized torch around isn't something I really wanna deal with, but if I can just use any random lighter that would be much more feasible for my general use cases.

Candle flame lighters do work, but deposit soot on the filter and takes longer to heat up. Torch flames are superior imo. The coil and bats were harsh for me to use dry.

I love my Vapor genies, a VG classic was my first vape that showed me the way to fuckcombustion.

But of all the vapes I've used the VG metal bats (i have a ss bat) are near the bottom of the list for being useful in any way since they get so friggin' hot, I've never been able to hold it without burning fingers and lips after only one or two hits so out of the choice of coil or bat I would go with the coil every time.

(The Vapman is one of my favorite vaporizers of all time, Every vaporist should own and use at least one of 'em IMHO... VM is a must have tool me thinks.)

I prefer to use mine in a more laid-back fashion, but yes, Vapman is amazingly effective, elegant and versatile and everyone ought to have one!

I'm going to obtain a butane Vape one of these days, just in case the power grid is compromised.

I've been wondering what to do with the 48 cans of Butane I have stored in my garage from my BHO production days.

Don't have a lotus so can't say much, but I. Know how it works.

Have a VM that I've been using a lot more lately and it's one of the best vapes I've used. The aesthetics and quality are superb and the effects are very strong. 2 or 3 hits from the VM and I'm I the clouds. It's very efficient and with all that butane you got @Hashtag46&2, you'll be using it all day long :2c:

Vaporgenie actually suggests using a soft flame. It works well, but I feel it needs a little more finesse than the torch. If you use a bic or other flint lighter be sure to light it away from the VG (or any butane vape) as it creates toxic flint dust, and health reasons aside it tastes awful.

If used correctly a soft flame isn't sooty, but that's a tricky endeavor in itself. A torch is more forgiving in my limited experience. The coil is awesome and super cheap with an excellent warranty, but I wouldn't want to use it without water. So if using it dry is your main concern I'd suggest a different unit.

It's probably be used dry and with people who are smoking. Basically I want a way to vape that looks more or less like I could be lighting a bowl.

Vapman! Vapman! Vapman! - that is all ;) :nod: ..... but seriously, it's a great vaporiser:
  • it's very efficient - a little goes a long way and it vapes evenly
  • produces great tasting vapour
  • works a treat for herbs and concentrates
  • has a beautiful, simplistic design
  • fits neatly in it's egg and is easily transportable
  • requires minimal cleaning
  • What more could you ask for!!??? :shrug: :)
I note that you have an aversion to torches - but the Vapman lighter really isn't at all cumbersome or industrial looking - it's only a little bigger than a bic, but holds a decent amount of gas. It's easily pocketable and won't look odd if left hanging around. There are even smaller torches available if you'd prefer something really small.

I have two VM and I'm looking to get a third - I think that says a lot :).... anyway - happy choosing!

I must say, my best friend purchased a couple hammers a few months back in preparation for a backpacking trip. He was pursuing the super light weight, compact, and convenient convection via butane design. Needless to say, he gifted one to me the same day he received his shipment to test out and I was superbly let down by my experiences. He thought that maybe his technique was off (hence passing it to me to decipher) but I also found that it's performance was heavily unimpressive.
