anyone using CC in O.pen carts? I love this stuff but I keep having weird things happen when i use it that are suggesting that it isn't as safe as I would like it to be. I honestly would feel better if these companies just gave me a detailed list of ingredients. I just put some in an open cart ( i use strictly glass/metal tanks usually) I sware i think over the course of about 3 days the CC liquid is warping the plastic inside the O.pen cart. Like it looks like the CC basically mildly ate away at the plastic. I remember some guy popping in here claiming that terpenes are/can be corrosive to certain things in concentrated amounts. Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. Damnit why won't thc just dissolve in vg. lol

Pic of one with regular puff magic mix and the aftermath of the empty cart that previously contain a cc mixture. It's hard to see from the pic but the cart is now totally opaque. I can't see through it at all. But what I'm most concerned about is that it had seemed to warp the little rubber stopper at the bottom that keeps the part of the wick that touches the juice directly away from the portion that has the coil wrapped around it. Weird, but I'm still not stopping cc. Just sticking with glass and metal in the future.

Well I'm pretty much talking to myself but I found something in this link in the very small paragraph at the top (the rest is irrelevant). I was using the lemon flavor cc as well which I'm assuming is d-lemonene.

http://i.imgur.com/auUJqcch.jpg

Basically it says, that it isn't corrosive to all plastics but can be in certain instances. But mostly Causes swelling of certain plastics used as seals in certain products. I.e the little plastic cap around the wick. I'm glad it's not actually eating away at it. Haha. But the swelling did pretty much choke the wick and decrease the quality of hit I was getting.

I think it would be wise to be wary of which atomizers you guys are using if you are using any of the d-lemonene containing terps from cc. I'm just going to switch back to glass/metal. I am going to try the strawberry or blueberry one with a small amount of the same concentrate and see if the swelling occurs. I'd be willing to bet it doesn't.

I have now used CC in over 30 O.pen carts so maybe I can add my 2 cents. I have to say, I have noticed some degradation in the tanks since using this product. A common occurrence is that I will notice hairline cracks that form. It is usually a bunch of cracks together like in the shape of a blooming flower sprouting upwards. They almost always form in the plasic air pathway. But it looks like they are just on the inner part of the tank and not the outer. At first I wanted to blame thesee hairline cracks on me being clumsy and dropping my pen. But I've seen it so many times now over 30 carts and I haven't dropped them all lol. Id say this happens a solid 50% of the time. Does not affect performance however. I've also had 3 carts break apart on me without dropping or anything. They all broke in the same spot at the bottom of the tank right below that plastic stopper.

I can't speak to that as I haven't used those carts that often. Although, it is interesting you have noticed this. I'd be willing to bet we are on to something though. Are you using the citrus/lemon flavors?

I can for certain say that the plastic/rubbery caps used as seals have 100% showed signs of swelling and growth. I also noticed this morning that the little blue cap you plug the fill hole with was considerably larger and swollen looking when compared to the blue cap on the cart I currently have a puff magic mix inside. Idk if that is bad or not, but I would like to know the science behind why it causes swelling.

Does anyone have any idea which of the cc flavors could potentially contain d-limonene? I'm assuming the citrus ones?

I emailed Puffmajic yesterday w/regards to the diacetyl concerns I wrote about above, here is their response:

Thanks for emailing us with your excellent question. We are happy to hear how much you like our product and thanks for your business and support.

The chemical compounds you are referring to are unfortunately very commonly used in the nicotine eLiquid industry. This is a well known fact. Many companies consider this a non issue and willingly use these substances as they are necessary to achieve certain flavors.

It has always been our company policy to avoid such substances. We specifically use flavorings that are manufactured with vape safety in mind. We do not formulate with flavorings that have diacetyl or any of the common substitutes as a listed ingredient. We also avoid other popular ingredients such as cinnamaldehyde.

Not using these compounds tends to limit what type of flavors we can produce but we would rather not offer a flavor than produce one with known questionable ingredients. Our objective is to provide a better alternative to smoking, not just an alternative. Knowingly using these chemicals would be contrary to that.

MAJIC Naked is our carrier base used in all formulations and is a proprietary glycol blend with no added flavorant or terpenes.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out with your questions and concerns. We are always glad to help. Please email any time.

Sincerely,

Steve

Sweet! I've been making 5mL batches of PM + CO2 oils for my friends and everyone is loving it. Subohm vapers get no burned flavor which I can sometimes evoke with a 10 second long burn/pull on my o.pen carts

I second that whiffpennington. I've been searching for a nice e liquid recently as I've mostly been using ejmix and puffmagic, but I don't really fancy their aftertaste. I've been looking a lot into Connoisseur concentrates "the solution" and Holy Terps "jack of all trades". The solution seems like a really nice product, it's just the price is a bit steep and I hear that it has soy lecithin in it which may be questionable. As far as Holy terps products I believe they're using vapeur extract as a base, which has peg, pg and vg, but add terpenes based off Indica, Sativa, and Hybrids strains on their different lines. I will probably buy both and compare the two. I'll definitely update you all on my findings!

Hi everyone, based off of the conversation last week, I decided to splurge on a bottle of Holy Terp - Jack and Connoisseur Concentrates "The Solution". I received both bottles and had a full day with both products to give my 2 cents.

Pricing:

Coming from Puffmajic, Holy Terp's pricing for their Jack of all Trades was quite comparable, if not a little cheaper so pricing is not a deal breaker here. For instance, I paid $25.99 including shipping for Holy Terp's (30 ml) "Jack" and $15.99 including shipping for PuffMajic Original (15 ml). As far as Connoisseur Concentrates "The Solution", the pricing was pretty steep, for roughly 25 ml it was $125.

Experience:

Conoisseur Concentrates "The Solution - Original". I was quite excited when the bottle arrived. I went to my room mixed my shatter with their solution per their directions at a 1:2 (The solution to Concentrate). It was pretty easy to mix, no separation and very clear looking. I loaded it into my tank and tried it. Having tried puffmajic and ejmix before this, this was clearly a superior product. What struck out the most here is the non chemical taste. I later added more "the solution" to the mixture because it was a bit strong for me and the concentrate tasted a little more dilute and I noticed a very slight aftertaste, but nothing as drastic as ejmix. I know some people mentioned "the solution" eating up some plastic and glass, I haven't experienced that yet but will update if it does. Overall very good product, just pricey.

Holy Terp "Jack". This one is part of Holy Terp's "Hy" blends (it took be a little while to figure out but on their website, it seems that their "Hy", "Sa", and "In" blends correspond to hybrid, sativa, and indicas). I called them up and asked what their best seller was and they recommended Jack. At this point I had a whole day with "The solution" and figured to compare I would spend the next day using Holy Terp. I opened up the bottle and the first thing I noticed was the smell. It smelled pretty similar to the actual plant, it was pretty cool. I mixed up another batch, but this time Holy Terp recommends a 2:1 (Holy Terp to Concentrate). I followed their directions and the product mixed easily. I tried it and was really impressed. Same as "The solution", it was very smooth and didn't have any of the aftertastes of ejmix and puffmajic. But what was most striking was the flavoring, even with a 2:1, ratio, which was more dilute than the batch I made with "the solution", the flavoring was very raw and full bodied. Overall, I'm very impressed with the product as you get the smoothness like "the solution" does, but the flavoring is a little more full bodied and natural.

Verdict:

Both "The Solution" and Holy Terp's "Jack" are excellent products, but for what you get and the price, I would go with Holy Terp. For about 1/5th of the price of "the solution" I'll probably try one of their "In" blends next.

Thanks for the insights. The folks who make Holy Term also make Vapeur Extract, I wonder how that compares to EJmix, Puff Magic, etc. . . There is one guy posting everywhere about Vapeur Extract and I get the sense he is a shill.

I think that Holy Terp is Vapeur Extract with terpenes added. Holy Terp contains PG/VG/PEG400 and terpenes according to their web site. I imagine the terpenes kill the flavors of the PG/VG/PEG400.

I'm really hot on getting bho e juice figured out as I liked to idea of not having to reload for a long time and having the first hit taste as good as the last hit. I've got a good bit of BHO coming my way so I'll have the resources to experiment.

The other decision I need to make is which mod/tank combo. I'm leaning towards the Innokin MVP 3.0 with a Kanger Subtank mini or nano, if not that some of the cheapo cartomizers. Open to suggestions, it's been hard to sort through all the forum data on this topic, especially because I'm new to the work of e cigs.

I can't recommend the Subtank Mini, I tried it and found the wicking couldn't really keep up that well, it was usable but I had to be careful to not overdo it and get a dry hit, and it wasn't long before the wicking holes got completely clogged but then I guess a lot of that is down to your mix. My favourite mod right now is the Evic VTC Mini, it's small, lightweight and supports temp control for ni200, titanium and stainless steel, but you also need a high drain 18650 battery to go with it and I doubt it would last anywhere near as long as the Li-Ion battery in that MVP 3.0.

I can't fault the Uwell Crown for performance really, only downsides are that it's pretty large and also quite a weighty tank, very well built though.

I'd have to agree with the description of Holy Terp. I got the sample kit and have tried The Philosopher and The Doctor so far (mixing them with a high quality shatter, very stable at room temp).

The main thing I've noticed is I haven't been able to use less than a 2:1 ratio as the website suggests. I started with a 1:2, when it was too thick at room temp I went to 1:1, and after the same thing I saw your post and went right to the 2:1.

I'm using the o.pen style carts with an ego battery. The mix definitely performs the best at the 2:1 ratio.

My only concern with this is the potency at a 2:1 ratio. I'd prefer the mix to be as strong as possible, so it looks like I will have to give the CC solution a try next.

As for the flavoring and what not, it does taste much much better than the straight PEG400 I used last. I also smelled each one and the aromas match what is on the website for the most part too.

My last question would be if the Hy, Sa, & In blends actually have a varying effect. I'll have to try and do some tests when I get a bigger supply of product in the next week or so.

I'm 100% new to e cigs, so most of what you wrote is lost on me as far as mods and batteries and tanks and such. The BHO I'm starting with will be professionally dewaxed and processed of the highest quality. I think starting BHO quality is a missing factor from a lot of the online discussion regarding bho ejuice, and has a huge role in how equipment performs.

I did NOT want to hear you comments about potency. I was really hoping Holy Terp was a winner. If 2:1 is requisite for holy terp and not very potent I could find it disappointing. Maybe 1.5ml of Holy Terp with a gram of BHO will work and increase the potency. On another forum people are using the smallest about of EJmix (about .5ml) to disolve and stabilize a gram of BHO then adding another 1ml of straight PG to get it to the right viscosity and kill the EJmix PEG taste. People were reporting great results with that.

The other challenge I have in sorting through all the online info is environmental factors. I live in a high mountain desert. Consistently cold this time of year. A e juice that works for someone in So Cal may not work for me.

Soooo. . . .I keep reading and discussing. Thanks for the input everyone.

Just to clarify, I haven't really had s chance to test the potency. I'm just going off the common sense approach that 2:1 will be less potent than 1:2.

I find it hard for me to judge the potency though since I typically just do dabs and don't rely solely on the vape pen. I let my friends give me feedback since their tolerances aren't as high as mine.

I'm also located in the north east so it is cold now as well. I'm thinking even though it's more diluted, I can produce a lot thicker clouds. Im assuming that I'm also able to inhale more at the same time, thus making it similar to the more potent counterpart. You will burn through the mix quicker that's for sure.

I ordered from the Holy Terp before it was updated... Aka I didn't know it was a PEG400/PG/VG/Terpene blend. If I did, I probably would of just spent a little more and got the CC solution. Not for nothing, the taste is way better than any PEG400/PG mix I've done myself. The terpenes definitely make a noticeable difference in the taste. Although it's not exactly what I wanted, it's still a quality product.

When i was using Puff Majic and getting subpar results i used to think the same thing about needing to source the best quality, always dewaxed stuff. Now that I use CC however that doesn't seem to be as important. This stuff just blasts apart and mixes well with even the goop-iest, stickiest, waxy stuff. The one thing I can't argue with about CC is the results. It is by far the best performing product on the market. IMO it's on another level than all the other stuff.

Sorry, I guessed you had some knowledge about it to have picked out those specific products but hard to estimate how much. Different tanks will use different coils and the sizes of the wicking holes on those coils will differ and that will effect how well the liquid is able to get to the coil. If not enough liquid is reaching the coil, you'll get a dry hit which tastes burnt and nasty. The Subtank Mini coils just have two rather small wicking holes and not much cotton inside so I'm not sure they're ideal, they're kind of an old design but as you say, no doubt the quality of the BHO and also what you mix it with and at what ratio will also play a part in how well it wicks.

Edit: actually it seems Kanger are doing vertical coils with much larger wicking holes now, so they might be good. Looks like they've got SS and ni200 too. I only tried it with the original 0.5ohm horizontal coils.

Temperature control is fairly new in vaping, basically certain types of wire (ni200, titanium and stainless steel) will change resistance when they're heated and mods that support temperature control can monitor that change of resistance and use that to determine the temperature of the coil. You set the maximum temperature and when the coil gets to that temperature, the power is reduced to maintain it. It's quite handy for helping to prevent dry hits but also to get consistency in the vape.

I'm not an expert but I'm an enthusiast so happy to try and answer any questions if you have any.

Interesting writeup @DeezBraz, I've ordered the Jack mix too. So other readers are aware, the ingredients list is as follows:
PEG400
PG
VG
Proprietary blend of terpenes

I'm very curious how this will be an improvement over PM!

Regarding the 2:1::concentrate:solvent dilution, I wouldn't assume that it is necessarily stronger or more potent because your mix may not vaporize well at all. I say this from my experience with Pan's Ink and how the concentrate I used kinda became gunky and would not vape well. Extrapolate this to a similar mixture where the shatter hasn't dissolved sufficiently to facilitate clean vaporization; blobs of concentrate may adhere to the coil or wicks and burn, heterogeneity of your mix may result in inconsistent vaporization and dosing, etc.

Hey all new member here but have been lurking for some time now and thought I would finally chime in.

(1-star) EJ Mix - Mixes well and stays in solution well but tried it and absolutely hated it. Strong chemical taste that made my vape almost unusable. Can't even remember the ratios or anything. I gave the bottle away because I was not going to use it!!! AWFUL...

(3-star) Puff Majic "Gummy Bear" - Mixes well an stays in solution well. Very strong flavoring but good flavoring. Not as bad of a chemical taste but still a taste. Tried it at 2:1 and it was ok but at 1:1 it was much better.

(2-star) Holy Terp "Jack of all Trades" - Mixes well and stays in solution well. Tried it at first at 2:1 ratio and the chemical taste again was awful for me so I added more shatter to get it to a 1:1 solution and it was way better IMO. The one thing I noticed is that it seems that the chemical taste or the "terp" taste seems to burn off rather quickly leaving you with less chemical and terp taste.

(4-star) The Solution "CC" - Mixes extremely easy with a little heat and stays in solution well. I followed the suggested instructions with my sample pack at 1 gram shatter to 0.5 gram of CC (I used the Lemon flavor sample tube I received first). This stuff is a game changer IMO. When it mixes it just turns into pure honey and vapes well with no chemical taste. I tried the lemon first and the flavoring wasn't too strong and helped enhance my concentrates flavoring. I got the sample pack that comes with the cheap disposable e-pens and the 3 small batches of CC and let me tell you the cheap e-pens are garbage so be prepared. But they are nice to sample with first before using your own atomizer. Out of the disposable e-pen I got a great flavorful lemony canbabis taste that immediately medicated me. This is the best solution I have used yet.

As for atomizers what are you guys using? I used my Aspire tank with BVC and it was awesome but I think I would like to get some disposable atomizers to use. You lose a lot IMO so the cheap O-Pen carts might be best? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Jayt0625

This makes a lot of sense. I think sometimes people (myself included) maybe be too caught up in using the smallest amount of solution/dilutant possible in order to make it as concentrated as possible.

If the mixture can't vaporize well, a 2:1 (concentrate:dilutant) could be less effective than a 1:2 ratio.

I'm interested for you to report back when you can do some tests yourself.

As for atomizers what are you guys using? I used my Aspire tank with BVC and it was awesome but I think I would like to get some disposable atomizers to use. You lose a lot IMO so the cheap O-Pen carts might be best? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

What do you mean when you say that you lose a lot?

Seems like The Solution is the best option in terms of performance and experience. My only hangups are the price and the fact that it still imparts a taste on the vapor. O.pen and a few other companies are making bho that is in a liquid consistency and contains no thinning agents. It's how they process the extract, not just a CO2 extraction either as it's being done with both BHO and CO2 extracts. The one's I've tried do not vape optimally, cloud are neither dense nor consistent. Perhaps using equipment would fix that.

FWIW @outwest, the Alpine CO2 oils I get vape perfectly on their own in the O.pen carts. THey are just too potent for the number of pulls I like to enjoy, especially if I want to stay functional :)

I shouldn't say lose a lot. What I was getting at was that I have been using the bottom fill tanks like Aspire and the PT3 mini (best one I have used so far) and when you go to fill it you always lose a little on the threads, etc...guess I am just being cheap, lol. I am looking for a top loading tank or cartridge like the O-pen type.
I had a buddy give me a cart he had one day and it was just so much easier IMO to load in the top and ready to go. Less parts to clean! I did try the Nano slim carts and they wee great at first but they all leaked after a day or so.

I post here occasionally about Vapeur Extract because I prefer it to PM or EJ and I like that they've been planning this Holy Terp line for a while. I'm not a shill though if you were pointing at me. I add links to things I talk about to help share info. Holy Terp is their VE base with terpenes added, the description/contents are on their site.

I think all the flavorless, terpene-less products I've tried taste like ass personally because I dilute more than other people. To compensate, I add a few drops of organic flavor extracts to my tank periodically to cover the pg/peg taste. I'll be trying the HT line when my current mixer bottle finishes, but I'm still aiming to just make my own DIY HT style mixer with bulk pg/peg/vg and terpene extracts from Extract Consultants. CC still sounds great, but the cost is a dealbreaker for me. :(

No it was not you. It was @Gazan114 he posted the same VE post to several forums including this one, and it's his only post in all these places besides him defending claims that he is a shill. He may not be, but it sure seems that way.

Yeah I want to use the least amount of dilutant possible to retain the most BHO flavor and potency possible. I know I could use Divine Tribe style equipment but I'm trying to avoid reloading frequently.
