I'm dreaming of my glass coming from China and thought of the perfect Solo bubbler idea... I'd love to see a somewhat mid sized bubbler that is not designed to sit on a table and get used. Like to see one that has a big glass handle like a beer stein or coffee mug! I'd like it to be heavy glass and cylindrical like a beer can, and maybe even have some system to secure the Solo to it solidly, like a sleeve that it and the Gong sits in?? I don't know. The idea is for something that I can stand around a campfire with and pass it around to my mates! Anyone got any pull on the design teams of these overseas glass factories? That would be cool!

Listened to Music today after SOLOing California Liv'n OG.

I listen to NEW stuff however sometimes I drift off and listen to something from the past! David Bowie has this song when I was in High School called Ziggy star Dust and the spiders from Mars.

As a young gun I would sing this song while surfing. (waves)

Music and the SOLO go very well together!

Looked back around October of this year you all- Atanian, Momofgoons, OF- you all gave advice to another forum member not to use the O-rings. Not necessary is the verdict I guess? So don't worry about a bit of loose fit- even when I get these bubblers and gongs in and the device is sitting inverted on a bong?

Diamond Dave! The starman himself. You must be a good bit older than me if that song was high school for you! He was playing We Can be Heros when I was in high school.

Everything goes well with the Solo! ;)

Just had a couple hits through my D020-D again. I've been using it almost exclusively since I got it -- I like vaping through water! :nod:

@Jethro the o-rings are definitely not necessary, though some (myself included) like to use them. They provide just a little bit more grip on the stems, which helps prevent the bent stems from rotating on their own, and (sometimes) loose stems from falling out. If you decide to try one, make sure not to overtighten the cap, as this can cause the base to crack around the screws.

For sure no value on a new unit. After it loosens up you can decide, there's good points and bad I guess. As far as inverted I favor a looser fit, personally. Like with most straight stems, I find tipping it a useful tool in control.

You can use the screen like a cup also
Put dome side down
Dome up does cut the stem capacity in half No stirring needed at all
Dome down you have 90% + of stem

Edit to add
Main thing is to have even a slight dome in screen so it doesn't sit flat in stem which helps keep screens from gunking up so quickly.

I ordered 20 of the pre-domed units on ebay. I have 6 packages coming to support my Solo! The DHgate stuff might take a few weeks I guess? Or more? I really need to find a good desktop to go with my quiver! VAS overload. But it seems the Solo is powerful enough to milk the glass I bought? I tried a redneck session through my old Graffix PVC bong... wasn't easy to get a big hit- too much airflow, it was weird I hope the D020 and FC-UFO don't take too much of a deep breath to fill with vapor. Put that Graffix back in the basement. Yuck.

Oooh, that's close Uhranium! But the Solo might be more precarious on top of that thing! I'm thinking something more inline. Solo right on top of the chamber. I'll try to sketch something!

EDIT: ok Ataxian, I'm not mush of an artist, hopefully this gets the idea across. I don't know how good the sleeve support for the solo would work, I mean you need to be able to pull the solo and the gong out easily, and the solo should be loose in the sleeve. I don't know, just my overactive brain.

@Jethro I followed your lead and had a wake and bake this morning with the solo. A rare opertunity for me.

I was meant to be out four wheel driving this weekend but the trip was canceled due to heat. In metro Adelaide today it is 41 degrees celcious (106f) and would have been around 45 where we were meant to camp.

So its a lazy day watching movies with the family as it is too hot to be anywhere but in front of the air con.

Oh and here is a little teaser of the solo on 7 with a pvhe gong and no o ring. Herb with a little topping of keif and a drop of bho. This is the second rip. The first didn't heat soak long enough and didnt milk as hard. I had a third rip that was a little smaller then it was pretty much spent.

Daaymn Nugg, that is CRAZY. Can't wait! That UFO looks awesome. Glad I decided to get that with the D020. I imagine I'll like the UFO more. It looks like you use an adapter for the gong to sit in- can't the gong go directly in the top of the UFO? Does it come with that adapter?

This is the gong I have coming, Looks like what you are using:

@Jethro I got a 14mm gong and use it with a long 18m/14f adapter. I have a cotton filter in the adapter, it keeps my water tools cleaner and you can vape the cotton when its nice and oily. The adapter also makes it easier to handle when clearing because there is more cool glass to grab on to.

I can't comment on the vortex stems as I have never used them.

@ataxian I'm glad I could inspire you. For the whip mouthpiece I use the bit of glass arizer supplies for the balloon mouthpiece with the EQ. I want to get a cool custom piece at some point, a lot like a chillum.

The UFO does require a fair bit of lung power to milk up like that and it's a huge lung full. The same milkyness can be had from the D022 with less effort and more like 2 or 3 rips like that rather than 1ish in the UFO.

I also forgot to mention that there was a small amount of grinder keif in that bowl along with the herb and a drop of oil.

@Nugg I have to tell you something that I don't want known?

I love KIEF and fill a glass jar with 1 gram GOD'S GIFT + 2 grams of GDP + 1 gram of KIEF (GSC) for NIGHT Time SOLO at 4!

This is called a chocolate covered grape (kind of taste like that)?

I am a little behind on this thread, but what I want to mention is potentially important.

Toronto vaporizer (Canadian) has a sale on Solo. $149 Canadian which works out to be a little over $111 US.

Great price on a great vape.

Those of us who may want a backup or simply an extra Solo are be advised.

Also Arizer Air is on sale for $189 Canadian which is about $141 USA.

I got a package from Randy (@PuffItUp) earlier, one of the shorter glass Air stems is the most relevant bit. $9.99 shipped, as always excellent customer service from Randy. Anyways it fits loose in the Solo (same as the Air GonG I also happened to buy from Randy...) but is otherwise excellent. Shorter airpath and no plastic tip restriction, nice and tasty hits and the loose fit gives it a surprisingly airy draw. The mouthpiece end of my stock straight stem cracked but it was still intact, just fit some silicone over it and vaped carefully. Local headshop didn't have any of these short glass stems last time I checked so I nabbed one as well as a dab tool with a little scoop at the end and a MedTainer was also in the package. I actually had a shorter stem at one point, it was a straight stem that had fallen and broken down, I was able to get it somewhat cleanly down to about 3/4" over where the "stem shape" narrowed down into the "body shape" and had to use some silicone tubing to get a decent mouthpiece without burning my lips. As expected this one gets warmer at higher temperatures, uncomfortably so. Still, already my favorite. Even small enough to fit inside the MedTainer :hmm: Just when you think you have the perfect setup... One thing is constant, however, the HOLY GRAIL!!
