Discontinued The Grasshopper

Ok so I wanted to despise this grasshopper because I find it totally and completely absurd having to wait 2 years.

I'm just going to say one thing: the ready time on this is just unbelievably sick! That alone is a game changer. Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable. With that kind of 3-5 second ready time how will I find time for my crafty or pax 2? No not the mflb or firefly matter in comparison simply because there's no learning curve or precise technique needed. It's truly ready!

It really kinda makes them tortoise and hare comparable. I've been using the mighty for the first time in months and after being hopperhipped I find myself asking...why the fuck is this taking so long to heat up!!!?? Dam I could've been vaping already!!:freak:

Fellow vapor brother
Jeez I can't believe I'm still checking this thread- I cancelled my preorder so I could get back to my normal life, but still find myself coming back to see if they've ironed out the kinks yet.

One thing to think about regarding the air path through the battery chamber: if some air is indeed being drawn from the back end, it's concerning regarding the 'glue' that holds the back end together, and the fact that it's been failing prematurely (most likely with units that suffer the hot back end issue). So basically I'd be concerned that if your backend is getting hot that you also might be heating (and breathing) glue.

Also it would be interesting to know if Payton's back end is getting hot, because perhaps there are components in the backend which are not designed to withstand high heat, and perhaps that would explain the 'metallic' background taste... Just a thought
Gotta be like Charlie Kelly.

Yet to put money down yet, but can not wait for this to be all go ahead. Hearing @paytonpenn say it milks better than any of his vapes makes me excited. Being overseas I'll wait until they are a little less unreliable before I order.

Or, you could start off with the GH while waiting for the Mighty to heat up. By then you'll probably be at a [10]lol.

Looks like one of my chargers is broken. It will make the Hopper flash on connection but it isn't charging well.

EDIT:
I use a NiteCore D2.

which nitecore charger are people using? :hmm:
I'm using a D2, but any of the D2,D4,I2,I4 will work. I recommend a D2 for the slower charge rate that is appropriate for these smaller batteries, and a digital readout of the state of charge when the cell is inserted. I sometimes use it to check if a cell is fully charged before I head out with it.

I dunno... We have heard it tastes anywhere from great to some shit a robot would fart out.

I guess the sky is the limit for what people decide this tastes like.

It's probably been already said but starting at 2 will give you unbelievable tasty vape but it's very light but super tasty but super airy but very very flavorful. Even when I go light on the pax2 or crafty they are fantastic but the GH is a much warmer vapor that to me hits your tongue like a superb tea. I can say assuredly that if you really enjoy vaping to experiment with flavor profiles you'll want add this your pallete. It really does add a unique flavor to the vape game and did I say it's ready in like 3 seconds!!?? Still unbelievable to me!

It's pretty tasty, I would claim it to be far better than the robot poop tasting vapes, which do eventually taste better over time.

I was a bit harsh with my dialogue but I don't think I've had any bad vapes, only one that had an awful taste (Herbstick Deluxe).

I should have wrote..
Out of all my convection based units the grassHopper isn't the winner or best in flavor (nor is it the worse). It does trump the chinese conduction units but supplies a lot more heated air than other convection units. That results in me noticing more heat than flavor.

Flavor wise here are some comparisons there are also other variables that change placement, but overall I'd say this is how I feel about the units and their flavor.
Herbstick Deluxe < Imag+ < Lithe <= Nimbin < Flowermate < Boss < XMAX II < T-Vape <= Pax < Genie < MFLB < Versa <= grassHopper < EQ/VTower < Solo <= UD/Firewood <= HerbalAire <= LSV <= Hammer <= Volcano

I remember a while back grokit said his Hammer didn't taste as good as his Versa, I'm not sure on his temps, but I know we had different Versa's and my 90 volts was more equivalent to their 65 volts. Whenever I went past 65 volts I would notice a heated flavor, when at 90 volts, it was primarily that heated flavor I was noticing over the herbs but the unit milked amazingly without boost (which is not a feature in my Versa). I won't say the Versa didn't have great flavor because in the 65v and under range it is pure and amazing, I just preferred the effects of the higher temp. The grassHopper behaves in the same way, its phenomenal at the lower temps but a heated flavor arises when it goes too far.

The equalto or greater thans are hard, there are different uses that cause better flavor also different materials, I wouldn't give the placements too much thought as the top units alter depending on the stem/usage style.

Anyone of my favourites "flavor country" vaporizers (HA & MV) are on the top of your list!

Although, in my opinion, the Hammer never trusted the top about flavor, I see it more as a heavy hitter and yes it tastes good.

I think you like high temp, I remenber you posted some days ago you was using your GH and FW3.0 all the time at max temp, personnaly I quasi never use any of my vapes at max....so the flavor you like doesn't seems to be the same than mine. I don't know what does this means about the GH taste..... I can't comment its taste, sorry.

Your comment about the Herbstick deluxe is very true, it taste as ass so i'm pretty sure you know when a vape taste good but everybody is different...that's why it's so nice to get a so large choice of vapes.

Edited in the HA, only thing I don't like about the HA is the pump, maybe I got a bad one, but flavor in bags aren't that great when compared to the competition. But direct or with water, its very good.

Re the hammer it definitely worked well enough. My flavor issues were more about the butane; if I wasn't using the additional glass tube to prevent it from coming through the intake, if I remember right.

To add to the great flavor comments, it's great flavor all the way to the end of the load. I've yet to find a vape that tastes fresh just before cashing it out.

Agreed that can be airy on 2 at times, with thin whispy clouds. Depends on how the load is imo.

I never really got visible vapor on two. I usually use 1 - 2.5 in public since beyond that can get loud and stinky. But 2 always tastes nice, I could rip it for a good long time without having too much heat on my throat (probably my one downside to the Hopper. Without a waterpipe high temps are hot) and get a really wonderful taste, hold it in for a bit and exhale with very little coming out.

I don't know if I'm ghosting them, or if 2 isn't quite high enough for mass vapor to be produced.

On the flip side, I used 2.5 outside a Jack in the Box parking lot and exhaled a huge cloud. I never thought of 2 as a temp that was supposed to make clouds I guess.

2 will make clouds, the one I was using was. I only used it on 2. However, there were many times where it'd produce very light (almost no) vapor as well. For me, I felt it always depending on how it was packed, and I never did have enough time to perfect it yet either. Looking forward to more practice. I don't anticipate mine coming this month though. Call me a skeptic I guess.

Hmmm, maybe somebody has commented on this already but it seems to turn off on setting 2 or is it I'm not drawing hard enough and it doesn't sense anything and then turns off? The blue lights go off while I'm drawing. Goes to one blinking red light. I have to click it again to try again. Am I missing something?

What's weird is that I can keep drawing with beautiful flavor with no visible vapor whatsoever. I'm just confused why the lights go off.

EDIT: I see, it's going into sleep mode because I'm sipping and not drawing hard enough. Interesting. Think I'm pax2ing it too much. Might be why the flavor is stupendous though. I could sip this thing with no vape all day. The flavor is that good to me.

You got it, drawing too slow. As someone looking for a one-hitter, one of the things I love about the GH heater is I can rip it native, even at low temps, with great results. I pull pretty fast till I feel a little build-up, then I pull full speed (clicking off ~3/4 thru) till I'm full. On a 1/4-1/2 full, untamped bowl, I do 2-3 pulls at temp 2, then temp 3, then I'm usually good, unless I want a heavier/sleepier body effect, then I'll do a couple more at temp 4. The heater has no issue w/ full speed, all the signals are really easy to read, and I can do all this in the middle of a nice walk w/o stopping to manage a slow draw on measured breath.

The ultimate hopper power bank/charger?... 2.1a output capable of providing one tablet or 2-3 phone charges per day. Nothing spectacular till you realise it will do this forever without needing charged, ever. €1200. Meet The future, meet Orbo...
They're also releasing a pretty chunky mobile phone that never needs charged for €480.

And the next product they plan to release is an ecigarette that never needs charged. Partnering with Wicked ejuice manufacturer on this one.
