been so shit busy today havent had any time to contact d-nail or even figure out what I want to do really - Just got home and saw that I had won a badass 10mm mini recycler from an IG giveaway

@herbivore21 it isnt that the coil wont stay its the fact that more than half the coil is exposed on the bottom

i took a few pix but cant upload them directly to here it seems and I dont have an account for just image hosting atm - have to figure something out here

Just wanted to point out that there are fair priced coils wired for D-Nail and Auber control units on Amazon Prime.

16mm and 20mm

Looks like they're doing flat coils but they ship from China. Hopefully they'll stock them as prime items soon too.

Wow!!! So I can get this and any of those auberin pid control box things?

Edit: and it'll work with any nail? Like liger or halo or Chinese hymans?

@DrSteez if you're really only able to use it for a few months I would suggest just a torch and banger. If you use a timer to get low temp dabbing down the flavor is basically as good as an enail (other than maybe fancier nails like the liger or dnail)

I was looking at the auber and what do you think of the coil that can come with that ? And is the auber the only other good flat cool digital option under 200?

if you dont want a Ti nail you can get the controller and and flat coil for 130 and buy a ceramic nail for it and still be under 170 all told

I havent used the 710 or the high five - but IMO the best cheap enail is in fact the auberins simply bc of the features and how well it works

mine heats up to 600 in under 3 minutes and runs rock solid - I have it on about 8-12 hours a day every day since august

and no issues with heating it up over 900 to clean your nail either

what auberin controller would you recommend?

I'm thinking of getting this coil to go with it (that's what i have to do, right? buy a seperate coil attached to that wire with pin?)

I bought the auber rdk200 with flat coil and nail from them for I think $200 about a year ago before the 300 model came out. The coil that came with it works fine but I switched to a 20mm hyman quartz nail and bought a 20mm coil from them. Pretty sure all coils are made in China makes sense to get them for $30ish instead of $60+. Most enail boxes are pretty much the same thing, the auber is nice because it has a knob to adjust the temp. The only real downsides are the power cord is short and unremovable/there is no automatic shut off.

They'll work with any of the Auber units except the rdk 150 and they should work when paired with the correct nail. I haven't ordered through this Amazon vendor yet but his coils look identical to the coils I've gotten from hyman that work great.

So I've noticed on your sig, you have the auber rdk-300. i was looking at the rdk-110k (the 80$ non-dial one)

Do you always have to turn off the power when the controller hits the desired temp?
what are the differences?

I havent tried it yet since usually with items such as these if you use them you cant return them, and its possible I wont be able to return it at all...

Yeah I've noticed that without the heater retainer in place the glass joint gets quite a bit hotter than with the heater retainer in place. The nail should screw together with the heater retainer in there if you really press it all together when you're screwing the retaining nut on. Cheap drop downs give a little peace of mind if you want to use it without the heater retainer. These are great compact drop downs.

@herbivore21 and anyone else who has a Lotus Flower adapter...

So my lotus and ninja controller came in today, and I heated the lotus to 700f and smelled this... almost like a curling iron smell, idk how to describe it. So I dunked it in 99% iso for about 5min then let it dry for a bit, then plugged it back in and turned it up to make sure all the iso was gone. wiped it with a paper towel, no machine oil... so idk what it is i notice when i put my nose right near the lotus when it's on... I'm going to ask my friend who has owned a d-nail with ti nail... but maybe it't the coil? (his were all encased)

Anyone?

I've found that these hybrid titanium nails add some weird (metallic?) taste to dabs as they oxidize. After they get to the point that they wont really oxidize anymore I can't taste it anymore. Maybe you're smelling the same thing and it'll go away after the heat oxidizes the titanium as much as it will at your set temp?

Did you touch the coil with your hands? Probably just skin oils burning off.

So I decided to go with the auberins RDK 300 since the high5 no longer comes with the flat coil and the auber has more features but I was wondering about how long the DHgate (specifically hyman Quartz) coils take to ship as I'd like to have my full enail set up ASAP, i just want a flat coil that's gonna last more than a month or two and not take more than a month (tops) to ship. Debating a dhgate one for 30 or the flat coil ( coil only) for 45 from high five as I assume that one would arrive much sooner. I'm new to the electronic heaters and horrible with electronics in general so thank you guys for all the help and advice I really don't know what I'd do without FC haha I always look on here before buying anything cannabis related

Hyman Quartz have always shipped to me in less than two weeks to Canada and our postal service is typically slower than the USAs. Definitely got some stuff in 7 or 8 days.

my slim series came with a ti washer they called the "heater retainer" that goes under the coil, and i'm not seeing it in your picture.

maybe that would solve the problem? or is it that the heat sink is not long enough to fit the coil and the heater retainer?

i'm using a 710whip ceramic donut heater fwiw.

To anybody with a d-nail gen 2 carb cap. will any HE dabber fit into it? i ordered the cap itself, thinking i could put one of my generic dabbers into it and they do not fit.

My dabber from my HE mini carb cap screws in perfectly and I believe the mini and full size have the same threading on the tools the only one that's different is the parti cap dabber because it's hollow

my old HE dabber also screws in just fine. the threaded portion is about 2 mm shorter than it is on the new dabber tho.

iv never had any weird smells come from mine, if you gently twist the top you can unscrew it and remove the heating element from the ti housing and make sure nothing got inside.
