Hmm...

I drop my extract directly on the quartz dish, using the storm cap. In no way is there any contact with the titanium, apart from the air path.

I also have quartz bangers for my enail and I personally cannot detect any significant difference in taste.

I dont think you conctrate has to make contact with the ti to alter the taste. It jus has to be hot and in th3 air path.
@Gonzo_da_wind

Galaxy enail is a full quartz-infused ceramic air path: https://galaxyenails.com/shop/
And 710 whip: https://www.excapevapes.com/shop/excape-710-whip-by-domeless/

No first hand experience with either.
Ai have a Controll box jus need to find a nail . Not reall worried about ati being in the pathway just near too close to coil and getting hot

^^^ I'm pretty fucking snobby when it comes to taste.

I only buy high grade concentrates (lucky to live in CO).
Typically BHO/PHO waxes or Live Resins that smell good and test clean.

While I don't have other nails to compare the SiC Halo to (which admittedly may lessen the validity of my opinion somewhat), I have dabbed off of friends Ti nails.

No contest.
SiC tastes much better, and I can't detect any Ti taste.
My Ti locking nut has barely changed color while the top of the base of the nail has purpled up nicely.
That top nut just doesn't get very hot.

I do want to try a Liger V2 though, but I have spent waaay too much on equipment of late.

ohh yea i totally feel that.

medical patient myself and only drive out to good dispensaries to get good clean live resin/nug run stuff.

i dont mind spending extra on that. But at the moment, after buying a few grams, I dont have enough for such an expensive sic halo+sapphire..however fucking amazing it looks and sounds. Maybe in the future i can save a bit and splurge. Unfortunately cant do that right now :(

Hmm, I wonder if I will experience this when my Lotus adapter/Ninja nail arrive (This saturday can't come soon enough lol:drool:)

So far I'm not sure if I have experienced it using the Ti2 pads that came with my KindMD ceramic atomizer... there is certainly a difference in taste, but it's hard to know how much of that to attirbute to temperature differences etc. Looking at the airflow diagram of the Lotus, I would imagine there will be fairly hot Ti though.... what exactly would cause a change in taste from merely being in the airpath? Titanium dioxide?

Something to think about I guess... Lol now that my d-nail is in the mail I keep second guessing myself... Should I have bought the Galaxy Mini for $260 (idk if shipping was free), should I have just bought a 710 whip on cyber monday for $105 plus shipping... (and thus found out whether low temp conduction dabbing would work for me on the cheap) idk. I suppose there's also the herbalizer- but that has stainless in it's airpath- is stainless actually better in these situations (or perhaps just in convection applications)? I was always told the opposite...

So far my best flavor experiences have all been using ceramics and quartz... I guess I'll just have to see how it goes. Still excited tho :D

Edit: @Gonzo_da_wind
if you check out the quartz section of the nails on the D-nail website there are a few all-quartz options. Lol you're making my miss my all-ceramic airpath (Except the heating element- a custom heating wire they wouldn't give details on) Thermovape.

Well i found something close to what i had in mind but i cant find a enail compatible version....i think the original glass artist was C2 custom glass the "daisy" style quarts nail......basically i like the open cup shape "i love bangers but the current designs are lacking....coil needs to safely attach....currently standard coil shapes not optimized for banger use and can be wasteful and easily break banger
Anythought on how to alter the banger style design to make more effecient with a coil... I feel like the major improvement to be made is to some how make better use of the outside surface of the coil current desigm waste half the potental conductive heat by leaving the outside the nail exposed

Thanks for the replies everyone. So it seems if I want a digital controller the auberins is the way to go but if I want analog and ceramic the 710. I'm just wondering about what someone was saying about cleaning the ceramic one. I don't dab much but I don't want a dirty nail. Is one unit more reliable then the other or high 5, auberins and 710 are all the same with different features ?

honestly if you can catch the 710 whip on sale, it cannot be touched as far as value IMHO. I was on the fence about it for the longest time because of the analog controller and not being sure if it got hot enough to generate the clouds i was used to with the torch. This past April, the guys @ domeless had a booth at the cannabis cup and we got to try it out in person. It has since been our daily driver, been turned on at least 85% of the time since we brought it home, and does not fail to deliver clouds of pure deliciousness on demand. I am curious to try SiC, so I may pick up the auber unit in the future, but it would be really hard for me to be more satisfied than i have been with the 710 whip.

The high 5 and auber are both made in China. The high5 functions better out of the box than the Auber imo but if you don't mind doing a little tuning the Auber will perform on par. The Auber has a more user friendly layout and is very simple to use but the rdk 200 comes with a super short cord that's fixed to the unit while high5 and rdk 300 have detachable 6" cords. High5 units aren't compatible with coils other than high5 brand coils while Auber's are.

If it were me I'd get the RDK 300 and tune it so it works with higher temps but you wanted something that worked great out of the box iirc and high5 fits that bill.

The 710 whip doesn't get hot enough to clean the build-up off your nail while any other controller will. Other than that the 710 whip is made in America, works great and backed by a cool guy.

I dislike ceramic personally. I would rather dab off of Sic/Quartz first, then Ti , then ceramic . I suggest Ti or quartz until you can get a really nice hybrid nail (Liger, quartz Halo, et.). As for the controller the Auber unit is good. I don't care for the antiquated looking 710 analog unit myself although i'm sure it works fine. The Gimodo and Greenlight vapes enails with the Omron E5CC PiD are my personal favorites for the money. There are only a few components that make it. Look for a good quality PiD (Omron is a nice one) and a good solid state relay inside. The rest is just wiring, XLR connectors and a box to put it in.

To clean my ceramic nail from the 710 whip, I just disassemble and soak it in some PBW solution. Then scrape off the little bits that are left with a dabbing tool. To be honest, that is exactly what I do with the titanium nail on my digital enail as well.

Any user feedback on the performance/taste of the Liger V2 Banger with either the Quartz or SiC inserts?

Love, Love, Love the taste and performance of the Liger V2. I just got my hands on the 16mm version bucket as well and I can't decide which I like better!

My concentrates not only taste much better out of this nail but I get more vapor out of the same size dab compared to my other nails. You can get the temps super low in the chamber and pull long slow flavorful hits that I haven't been able to replicate with any other concentrate device. I can't suggest it enough.

This is the 20mm version. The body is the same, I just switched the bucket out. There will be a flower and hash vaping attachment coming for it soon as well.

What other nails have you used?
More to the point (for me anyway), have you tried the Liger V2 head to head with the SiC Halo?

If so, which do you prefer?
If not, get to it buddy!

I guess I could say the same thing to myself as I already have a SiC Halo, but I've spent toooo much recently on dabbing stuff.

@MileHighLife @DMPesso

when I bought my auberins I had to do nothing to my PID - I remember reading here if you bought the flat coil you would have to change the settings, but auberins has started doing that now before they ship is my understanding - I also didnt have to set the temp differential - right out of the box mine heats up very fast, accurately and holds the temp without an issue

I'll second the Omron E5CC PID, I've got one in my Gimido and it works great. I honestly got it more for how it looks with the white and green numbers instead of red and it displays both the set and actual temps. It's also pretty quick to change from dab temp to 1000F for cleaning and then back again.

Unfortunately no... I have only tried the D-nail V1 with Sapphire insert (Liger > V1 Sapphire disc). I haven't tried the SiC or Quartz halos. I do know that I prefer banger style nails but I need to go ahead and bite the bullet on the Halo too. I have the flat coil and an HE but I might pull the trigger on a slim base and a quartz halo to give them a head to head. I do have a Happy daddy genesis with a quartz dish, Highly educated domeless Ti, BOSS Ti e-nail, and every style quartz enail I could find including the turtle banger. The Liger V2 destroys all of those.

Do you have both?

Also have you tried the Errlectric Quartz insert? It looks pretty interesting but I don't have an Errlectric nail.

wow that liger is beautiful.

So, would you NOT recommend a highfive enail?

I haven't used or reviewed the High Five. It looks very similar to the other cheaper Chinese enails which actually work fine as long as the PiD was programmed correctly. Even the cheaper relays and PiD's will last a while and heat your coil just fine. The only difference with higher end electronics will be faster heat up and more precise temperature control. I notice more drop in temp on my cheaper enail than my Omron and the Omron definitely heats up faster.

This is a comparison between a slightly better (Still no Errlectric) Omron on the left and a cheaper $125 Chinese model on the right (similar to the High Five)
