Super Sensitive eh?

I've known this about myself for a long time though, but the quiz opened up a 4th eye (My third eye has been opened for a long time)

And... I simply go to my "Safe Place" > My Vape Station and block out any stimulation that I haven't created myself.

The wife has a large family, so since we are the only members of the family that has a large enough house for family activities...everything happens here at my house.

But, I suffer from many forms of agoraphobia, even in my own house.

Too much noise/stimuli drives my anxiety crazy high.

My Wife will always come into the room, and remind me to at least come out and visit/socialize briefly...
I try,and try...but I can only take about 5 minutes of the chaos.

I'll put some earphones on, and listen to The Doors or the like, and Vape myself back into my comfort zone.

I have executive function disorder due to a brain injury. It makes me over-sensitive (and emotional) to EVERYTHING !! along with shit-tons of other issues. Hellz, I don't even want to take the test :suspicious::uhoh::lol:

I wasn't going to take the test, cause I'm not really sensitive... But having said that I've changed a lot over the past couple of years... Anyways, I scored a 16. I'm not really sure what that means, but I'm metaphorically hanging out with @Hashtag46&2 , even when it's not that chaotic in the house...

I surfed around more about this SENSITIVE PERSON concept and came across lots of commodified enlightenment, but the movie looks decent. Instead of labeling people as sick, as if hyperacusis (hyper hearing) or hyperosmia (hyper sense of smell) are diseases to be treated, it would be nice to put focus back on helping people with dulled senses become more sensitive. So they know when their houses are on fire or a bomb went off down the block. @Hashtag46&2 your open third eye might be seeing real threats to your well being where others would just call it agoraphobia? I am not agoraphobic. I think staying away from shopping malls is the smart thing to do. ;)

I've been learning about Somatic Experiencing, and through the course of this have realized that I'm out of synch in that sympathetic nervous system is not in synch with parasympathetic nervous system. This goes along with the role I had in a previous life (firefighting and damage control, amongst a whack of other day jobs), followed by the next career as an international IT geek - I was driven by the need to get knee deep in some of the largest companies technical fluffups and fix them. I only got called when something was really wrong, which was kinda fun, but also really stressy... So now I'm working on getting balanced, and can't thank MM enough for helping me on this path...

Shopping malls are where one can see what the coming zombie apocalypse looks like in real life...

score24 and im 2days off nicotine vape (I go back and fourth and im really wishing I could get to the vape shop right now) and I haven't had any cannabis for over 12 hrs so my nerves are screaming and I kinda wanna die from anxiety.

I need to go throw my shoe through a window in the fuckyou thread or something.

I scored 24. I've always been like this, although I've only really started acknowledging it in recent years. All the usual things, like eating healthy (my sensitivities to food make this so important) and exercise, being in nature, meditation. These things all help greatly. Sunlight and being in the ocean as well. Finding the right kind of people to spend time with is important to me as well and helps me feel less alone, which being hypersensitive can do.

I looked at it without scoring but I know I'm low. But I used to highly sensitive up until my thirties and also have executive function disorder. Lots of therapy and learning ways to manage overwhelm has made a difference. But I remember that the only thing that really worked in clearing my brain when overwhelmed was getting stoned. I had tried valium when it was common but all that did was lead to spaciness and not the clarity of marijuana. I think that for certain people, marijuana provides something that's missing in their brain. Just like amphetamines do for some people. I, on the hand, took 2 no doz trying to stay awake driving cross country in my twenties and ended up almost paralyzed. I had to pull over in Amarillo and rent a room until I could move again.

@smokum and @little maggie thanks so much for sharing about executive function disorder. Ironic how cannabis can give one person ADD or EFD and help another deal with those conditions, like how stimulants affect people differently.

Cannabis helps me by activating my global right brain more and deactivating my sequential left brain enough. My right brain seems to help me snap out of a negative funk by stream of consciousness enjoyment of my immediate surroundings. I think my overactive left hemisphere is responsible for my fault finding. Just my semi educated guess.

where do you find the right people?

This is a work in progress for me, but there's a decent alternative community nearby where I live. A lot of the people there are weird and wonderful and are into alternative methods to health and healing. I look for people who are into the more natural side of life. There are often workshops being held in organic gardens, healthy cooking classes and various other community events that I want to get more involved in. I'm looking for work in conservation and with wildlife, so I'm hoping that will bring more people that I get along with into my life.

Non-judgemental people with open minds are my kind of people.

Interesting comment. My right brain has always been somewhat impaired. On a typical IQ test when I was young there was a significant difference in the verbal from the nonverbal IQ. I wonder if that's why getting stoned was so helpful when I was young.
