Earbuds and IEM's........

Nah dude, that's out of my league... I like decent quality but I'm not really an audiophile... Best inventions ever: weed and stereo :leaf::rockon::peace:

I've been kind of an audiophile all my life. It was a hobby and a vocation. I like my music to be well balanced without any artificial pumping of any specific frequency range and to that end, I haven't found a pair of IEM's that is more accurate and can do it better at it's price range than the RE-400's. Doesn't mean though that they could be out there. I just haven't heard of them. It seems that to get this kind of accuracy as well as dynamics, I'd have to spend 3 to 4 times the amount that I spent on these.

So, while I'm waiting for the Japanese Sonys to arrive I picked up a set of Sony CX300II's, which I've had before and I like a lot for out and about. I know these are not earth-shattering buds but for anyone on the lower end of the budget range, they're not half bad

So, my new Sony MDR-XB90EX arrived today  I hope the thieving bastard who lifted my first set gets Meniere's disease  That's a bit harsh.... I'm listening to Sleaford Mods ... Not Meniere's disease then, but a nasty ear infection, summat like that.
Now wondering if I should order a third set just in case...

Yo, dead thread guys! The thing is, I love my Japanese Sony MDR-XB90EX and ordered a second pair (not as backup, although that's the kind of thing I often do) but because the first set went missing (and I held a mean grudge for over a year against an insurance assessor who was in the house around the time..........until I found them out of their case bundled up with some old phones). So I started using them again until on the same day, the left bud and the left bud on a cheapish set of Sennheisers gave up. So I started to think about ordering a backup pair (of Sony) but the post here is so dodgy I thought I'd wait until after my summer holiday. Well, I'm home now and they're no longer available on Amazon and are being sold used on eBay at double the price. I really need to find someone who knows what he's doing with a soldering iron - it's nearly got to be the jackplug, right?
