While other see the Solo as an AA workhorse, I tend to not see it that way. In my testing and experience, I've found the AA to deliver just as much punch as a solo, in half the size, and with so much better tactile satisfaction (feels like a cigar in your hand, stem won't fall out. drop on couch cushion with stem in, so user friendly, play Air guitar). Combine that with changeable batts, and I'd rather have a few Airs around the house than an AA and Solo. But with that said, to each his own, as many LOVE their Solo . I own an eNano as well, and it sees little, if any, use. The AA, when herb is prepped right for my style of sipping, delivers EXACTLY what I want. In a way it kinda sucks, because every time I satisfy VAS urge, I'm disappointed....

An AA that heated up a bit faster (but only on first stem does this even matter) and with a better on/off switch, as well as battery indicator and temp control switch.

I do want to get my hands on the plastic tip PVHES stubby stem, but may look into modifying a stock stem (diamond blade?).

I have a shitload of stems that I rotate through, but a dirty screen or stem in the AA is NOT GOOD. The cleaner, the better, as far as taste, purity, effect, efficiency, length of session, and even stealth.

but yes, on the cleaning side this vaporizer is really great, i only have to clean the oven with a q-tip after 1-2 sessions and sometimes when i clean my stems (around 2-4 weeks) i clean the oven with q-tip / iso-alcohol and get the air 98-99% factory clean:science: (after this i wait a bit and heat it up before i pull my stuff in of course).

im pretty sure i fucked my air up. :( i cleaned up the stem with some dish soap, sponges, craft pipe cleaners, etc and i think i got some shit stuck in the little air holes. i ran the air on red with the empty stem in it a few times and it didnt taste right when i used it. i used it last night and i still have a lingering plasticy (or dish soap, not sure) taste/smell this morning. not really sure what to do with this thing now. clean the heating chamber up real good with some iso and buy a new glass stem? its not my main vape but i dont want it to become an expensive paper weight.

Sounds like you didn't do a good job at rinsing all the detergent out? Once baked on, that's a problem all right. But unless you left it wet enough to drip down it should not contaminate the oven.

First off, the stem should be fine after you boil it for a while in a sauce pan of water. Gentle boil, say 10 minutes? Followed by a good rinse when cold (don't hit hot glass with cold water). Stuff that's under the oven is a problem, ISO is not going to do any good, even if you get it into the bottom of the oven (which you should not) since there's no way to rinse it out (and ISO is not going to do a good job anyway at attacking the baked on detergent I think). I'd do back to back step 7 runs with no stem??

Detergents on the glass parts is no problem provided you rinse well before drying. And washing stems is not a problem (usually) if you rinse/dry them well enough. I wash my stems in PBW, a much stronger detergent than say Dawn. IMO you're on the right track but overlooked a minor (but important) step?

True enough, but if a film of detergent laden water was evaporated off then baked on I doubt it's going to wash away easily. ISO is not a good solvent for such stuff, and there's already detergent/soap in the game so I doubt PBW will help either. No harm, of course.

hey @OF (or others):)
can you explain me (a german people:)) what PBW is? i have good experience with iso-alc to clean the oven (i use very little bit of alcohol and iam very carefully).
As i say before iam cleaning it much often with only a q-tip and it works good, i only need the alc every 2-4 weeks.

This vaporizer isn't a throw type vaporizer like some of the portables that are out in the marketplace. I've had my AA for a year and has worked flawless for me. I have several vaporizer in my rotation and the Air is a unit that is my second favorite portable.

A specialty detergent made especially for the brewing industry. It contains agents to deal with hard water and is 'green' and extremely effective. Here's a running discussion of the stuff, complete with some experiments and reports on EU available products:

It turns out breweries have the same 'baked on hydrocarbon junk' and 'can't scrub there' problems we do, this is their solution. You can get it 'on line' (Amazon carries it) or from shops that cater to home brewing.

I can't even imagine how much more I will like the air considering how much I love the flowermate, but the flowermate is my one and only vape so.....

I think I might be in trouble..... my flowermate works perfectly fine yet I have this incredible urge to get the air!

Hmmmm... i wonder where i can find an Arizer air, just the units itself with one tipped stem and an extra battery?
My solo kicks ass, but a little more of a pain in the ass to carry around in my pocket. Broke so many stems too lol, so the extra snugness i heard that the air has would be awesome

I understand the idea behind that, but think it's a bit wide of the mark perhaps? New guys look at 300 plus pages and say 'this covers years' and go right to the end to ask their question. We're lucky if they read a few pages back first. In any event, that's a decision that rests with the Mods I think, and basically they've decided on the 'Best of' idea. We'll have to change that advice to "check the Best of thread if you're in a hurry'.....no wait, they said that already?

I don't see why not. I don't have one to try, but some 18650 chargers are kind of snug with longer batteries, and Air uses a very short one? IMO if a quality 18650 fits the charger I'd go for it, but I still wouldn't use any but 'the factory' battery in Air itself (I have 2 spares but almost never change them, I just recharge the Air after 4 sessions).
