As for my understanding, it's pretty simple. I don't think, this one has a lot of risk to it in terms of not getting it to work..as it should. I'd say if you know how draw affects a convection vape, this one will not be cryptic.

Too bad I seem to get no chance getting to know it on my own. No reply from Marc yet - and now it's sold out! This is getting a bit sad.
Well, something from above seems to give me signs to better not putting money in that? Really?:ninja: :uhoh::(

I'll enjoy my ESV some more - will survive that. Though too bad..
Last hope Monday, then I'm out I guess (unless I'm not already)

It might have been at the top of the payment details screen. 2-3 screens into the process?

That's odd... I assume your using a CC for payment? I had PP... Did the direct checkout but when logging in to PP there's only the final button...?

@vapen00b go ahead and fill your cart, then use the checkout feature. This will allow you to access the discount box. Then you can still choose paypal once you have applied said discount. They still have plenty of units, as long as you pick Walnut. I just used the discount, and Paypal. Best of luck, this little monster looks like a winner and its made here......!!!! Thanks to everyone, I can't wait to set this thing loose vs. my ESV.

Well I missed it. I was busy all afternoon and didn't have a chance to order. Now they have the walnut available but only without the charger which isn't going to work for me.

Yeah long day yesterday and up and at 'em early this morning, so couldn't get to the website when I would have liked to. Those maples must have moved quickly. Maybe @firewood is busy crafting some more as we speak; Monday's right around the corner. ;)

I was planning on buying the firewood while it's on sale. But most of the reviews say it has a long learning curve. I really don't do well with anything that has a learning curve of any kind. Is this still true of the 3?

Really?? I havent tried it but on this forum seems pretty simple? i hope not though

I'm still kicking around with my 2.1 Firewood- which is my favorite portable.

Ended up ordering the FW3 due to the sale, plus I already have the charger.

I don't feel too intimidated by the FW3, sounds like most of the manual control has been removed so I'd imagine it's easier to use.

@firewood. Thanks.

Quick turn around from FW and my unit was updated and got it back today. After one bowl so far i can tell you for sure it is working much better. Hard to explain what was wrong before but i was getting a lot of hot uncomfortable air and minimal vapor. Unit seems to be working much better now. Need to do some more testing. Am already considering adding a little tubing too for extra cooling.

Glad to hear @IAmKrazy2! Glad you are getting better results and enjoying the FW3 much more!:D

I have to also chime in with @firewood having awesome customer service!

Marc sent me a new top lid (mine split) which I received very shortly after posting a pic that my lid had cracked/split.
Thank you Marc!

Keep up the great work!

Looks like i spent too much time researching (ie reading through this thread) and missed the sale. I had decided on a walnut...

All sold out now. Oh well. Well done Firewood.

Anyway, my research and VAS would suggest i see one of these in my future...so, does anybody know if the charger is ok for 240 volt ac? I have a dooverwacky that allows US style plug to be plugged into an Aus powerpoint, but only if it does 230-240 volt natively. If not, then i guess i can get something from a local electronics shop, if i don't already have a 5v/5a one already in the house.

Thanks

I ordered a walnut one. As mentioned, there was no option to get it with a power adapter, but you could add one for the same price. I'm so looking forward to this! Hoping my LSV gets less use once it comes.

Mind if I grab an oar & help row the boat? I am in the exact same situation right down to the walnut :hmm:  :hmm:  :hmm: .

Why don't we just share the oar, since we seem to have been going in circles anyway.

It was actually the sale on unfinished maple which initially piqued my interest. Then i saw photos of the walnut. Then i zoned out, it seems.

This is getting eerie mate. Cheap me says unfinished maple until he eyes off the walnut.....

I believe I seem to be getting similar results that were earlier mentioned by @IAmKrazy2 and @AJC. I am not sure if my technique is the issue or my unit. I've had the device for about 4 days and have not been able to produce any vapor on temps 1, 2, and 3. However, I will get super lights clouds on the highest setting. I do have to mention, real quick, the FW looks and feels so badass that I really hope this can get resolved. I only feel like I am getting hot air, with no effects, no matter how much material is in the bowl. I do see the coil glow on temp 4, with the visual test, but no glow on any other setting. Could it be the temps are off? I am still waiting on a reply from FW, but thought I would chime in to see if anyone else found a solution to a similar issue.

Sounds like my issue exactly. How do your loads end up? Less than brown? Mine were very undercooked.

The only other odd things that happened were shuting off during hits and my vibration feedback turned into audio beeps a couple times while i still had high battery life.

Edit. I like this device a lot better now. Still won't replace my FireFly for big hits quick but it is like a quick heating session vape IMO. I also won't compare it to my desktops, but it certainly has its place and i can recommend it as a decent portable with a good value price point.

Yes, loads end up definitely undercooked. No audio beeps from what I can tell though and it seems to be staying on for my whole session. So I have that going for me, right? I just can't produce any vapor no matter how long I draw. Only hot air. Bummin me out!

Beware guys that there is really a technic to develop with this vape. I wasn't able to produce any vapor with my FW2.1 when I first got it, it was really strange. A lot of hot blank air, device getting hot properly but no clouds.

You need to play with all parameters: grind, amount, packing, distance, draw speed etc

I wish I could tell you the exact solution but my results, while clearly better, are still inconsistent from time to time. So keep experimenting! Unless you really have a faulty device of course...
