The sound of vapor
Good morning, I hope all is well out there! Yeah gotta give a thanks out to @Adobewan for getting me in touch with George @VapCap Wow I hadnt realized how long its been since we first spoke, I was doing some paper work and saw where I got those samples out to you back then in August. R&D can take some time and making it all come together can be tough. I am working on getting the first run of woodies out to George on the 11th. am digging through the Cocobolo I have to pick some choice pieces, seems more of you all like the Cocobolo more than the Blackwood, I cant blame you the species itself has so many vibrant colors and tones in it that few other species rival it. I am partial to the Blackwood myself but Cocobolo is my second favorite, Blackwood is just so sexy to me, its sleek and refined with subtle hints and light tones through it from time to time and even a burl eye here or there if I am lucky enough to capture it. So hang in there everyone, woodies will be in Georges hands really soon and I am sure he wants to have them in you alls hands sooner than his. Trust me they will all be choice pieces and be of my finest work! Thanks George for letting me be a part of this! If anyone has any questions for me just holla and we can talk about them!
@Ed's TnT Glad to hear peeps are more onto the cocobolo stems, you can keep your blackest blackwood for me then!

Oh btw is there any chance you can make the stash in blackwood or any other black wood?

Also can you make a stem that adapts to 14mm glass?

I chose Cocobolo because I already have a Cocobolo eds stem for my enano, and the wood is beautiful! But your description of the Blackwood almost gave me woody of my own, and I'm questioning my decision now....

I can see I'm gunna have to get one of both... Damn....

Can't wait for these!!!

Lol, blackwood is the shit bro!!! Ohhh no the thing about Blackwood and alot of other species is the larger the piece the more expensive it can be, large blackwood stock is freaking unbelievably expensive if you can even find it. I priced a piece for a guy that wanted a base, it was 5"L x 3" W x 2"T this piece itself was $300, needless to say the guy didnt want the base that bad! I did make a few wongs for the VC that I sent to George, not sure what he has in mind for them, I can do them that is not an issue bro!

@Herbalist23 Damn damn damn me, lol thats funny bro! Haha hope you get the blackwood, I am sure you will be just as happy with it as the cocobolo maybe even a little more. Its really somethiing you have to hold in your hand, the pictures do nothing for this species, its like the uniqueness and beauty of it is hidden within and when you have it in your hands its captivating, the subtle hints and lines, the grain is remarkable. I remember I made one of my first Blackwood Solo stems for @stickstones at that time I wasnt using the pin and didnt now that it would separate due to the high heat after time, ohh he had a beautiful piece, it had I wanna say 4 burl eyes in it, you couldnt see them in someone elses hand but if you looked carefully they were there like hidden treasures. I had to replace his piece and he knew it as soon as he got it that its was different and probably felt it wasnt nearly as nice just cause the eyes werent there, or at least thats how I felt. Do let me know what you think of the blackwood if you get you one!

Damn damn damn Ed, LOL!

Sad news, as my VapCap has mysteriously taken a leave of absence from my side. It will definitely be misse, as I've been using it daily for about 2 months straight. It normally stays in my pocket everywhere I go, as the small size makes it extremely portable. The bright purple case usually helps me find it when I *do* take it out. I definitely liked the VC Original as a low profile (cig form) analog portable, and look forward to future models. @VapCap thanks for making a great portable that isn't part of the e-cig market.

So sad. Lost it?

I know what you mean. I bring my VC about anywhere i go too. I pack that, a triple torch, and small herb container. I look and check for it before i leave the house like a wallet or keys, or a pack of smokes back when i did actually combust.

I always kept it packed in my pocket, w/ the triple torch. Inevitably I would end up afb (away from bong) longer than I'd like, and the VC was there in my pocket to save me.

Not sure what happened, I put my jacket on the other day and just the triple torch was in there :( No amount of dismantling the house and job-site has turned up any leads.

She will be missed.

Sorry to hear that. I've only had mine about a week now and have been using it everyday and can't imagine being without it already.
I think @VapCap should offer a cyber monday or Holiday sale to save us all from what @ragnorokk is going through.

Gotta have a backup, so being one sells for $30, maybe offer two for $50, or buy a woody get a Original for ?
Sounds like a great way to boost sales and a win win!

Well looks like I'll be ordering a few over the years, can't keep track of anything :(. Wallets, keys, weed, phones anything really. Think a dynastash will be handy for that side of this.

I got my green envelope in the mail today, with a green tube inside and a lovely VapCap.

Unfortunately there was no triple torch included... :\

The mouthpiece has a slight smell, I'll try to clean it a bit then I'll give it a try using my natural gas cooker as a torch substitute...

It's small, it's fine, it looks great. If it works great, I think everyone should buy one... or two!

Any reviews on the triple torch it ships with? I assume a triple torch is a triple torch, but just wanted to make sure. Super excited to get my woody and OG soon.

To be honest i have had 3 triple torches stop lighting since i got my cap. One is the same one George includes, or previously included. Two of these broken triples still work you just need an outside spark to get them started, and the third one (like the one linked bellow) had some sort of valve issue and the butane would slow leak after being filled. It worked perfectly for several weeks before this.

I recently ordered three different types of triple torches on ebay and am awaiting them so i can test. So far i like this one, and it has a huge tank that will last me several days with the VC (but one of the two i had broke)

The one i got from George still works, and it has a keychain attached which is nice, but i need to use another lighter to get it going. Not certain if this is the same style George still uses.

I assume the triple torch is just a convenience rather than a requirement and that turning the VC under the flame is adequate for heating, but I thought I would ask anyway. Single flame torches work OK, right?

Krazys thoughts on VC heating sources.

Triple torch is the quickest method, and the easiest to get it right with good vapor no practice. But a single torch can be more precise. The closer to the tip of the cap you heat, the lower the temp will be when you hear the click. The closer to the base of the cap you heat, the higher the temp at the click. I use this to get the temps i want, both with a single and triple torch but once you are accustomed to the single torch method obtaining the temp you desire becomes easier to dial into where you want to be, and is more forgiving IMO.

That said... i have mastered both the single and triple torch and usually go back to the triple now for speed. Bic lighters, grills, stove, and other heat sources can work but become more difficult with varying results. Stick with a torch. Unless it is an emergency situation.

i did try the solar powered thing i mentioned a while back too. i wasn't able to get visible vapor but i didn't change or paint the cap to black or try uber hard either. I might give it a whirl again next summer for fun on a camping trip.

Edit. Cyberguy. To answer the second half of your question it is not just turning the whole unit in your fingers but also where along the SS cap the flame hits. My lighter hand moves horizontally while the cap spins in the other hand if that makes sense. I use this to get the temps i want as explained above if that makes sense. Ill make another video sometime to help ya'll out.

I noticed your lineup has more or less a stash box with a magnet that helps remove the Dynacap while it is still hot- it looks really nice and I love that magnet feature.

Have you thought about releasing a small "Jig" that has a magnet on the tip for speed-loading? As far as I can tell, the cap does have a small cool-down time and this could be a solution for people who like this vape but don't like waiting between hits/ don't want to pickup a new stash box.

Maybe a 3-4" piece of wood with a magnet impeded in the tip, a lip that extends a little past the magnet to help you pop off the cap. It could be a cheap option for people to remove their hotcaps and keep vaping those high temp/long sessions without dropping $40 on the DynaStash.

Also, this would be a great tool for that WPA. Let me know what you think, not after any compensation, just love my flame vapes and wanted to share an idea with a new company- Someday I hope to make my own vape too.

Just a thought. As a VG fan, I cannot wait to try one of these one day- they even look classy in addition to the discretion! Can't wait to hear more reviews on them!

So.. Uh. My VapCap actually broke like less than an hour after making that coil video. Luckily the bowl just caved in and I've got a replacement glass piece here. I see that those pictures are the newer design which got rid of the metal screen with 4 of the tiniest slits, in replacement of a glass screen with 7 holes.

Looking great and thanks @VapCap it definitely improves the airflow but risks for a higher particulate buildup.

Why did it break? Was it heat related or did you just drop it?

bummer. I've broken a couple now too, makes yeah die a little on the inside each time, and count down the seconds until the woodies/tis are ready...

what pics are you talking about regarding the glass with 7 holes?

Nok, the cap is almost ready to touch (like the game hot potato) after the cool down click...you are right that a magnet helps catch and hold a hot cap if you get impatient waiting for cool down click. You can push a hot cap off with your finger nail to avoid burning yourself.

The picture above doesn't show the holes.
