You asked for advice and in spite of others suggestions you really seem to be most interested in the crafty. Why not just get one. If you look at the stores that support FC there are a couple in Europe that sell the Crafty brand and either have a cyber Monday sale or an FC discount.

Have you looked into FireFly? The vapor quality was as good as my Evo.

The FF has about as pure an air path as you could wish for. All stainless steel, and completely exposed....the paths run across the surface where the lid meets the body. Opening the lid exposes both sides of the path....you can see (and clean) every mm of it.

(Irrespective of air path, the Mighty is an amazing, almost game-changing port in terms of vapor production and quality in my experience. It's by far my favorite portable vape, but if "purity" is the highest priority I'd go with the FF.)

Do you get as good of a taste from the first hit with Mighty as you do with FF?

No. Not even close. But....the Mighty has very impressive flavor. Not as sweet or natural as the FF....but the nice thing about the Mighty is that, unlike any other vape I've used, the flavor does not degrade in the final stages of a bowl. You never get that burned, charred taste. You just get less flavor. Never bad flavor. The Mighty cooks the material thoroughly, extracts completely, and never delivers anything worse than neutral flavor.

The first half dozen FF hits are the tastiest goddamned vapor you will ever inhale. The latter hits drift into burnt popcorn territory if you pack a large bowl.

When I started this thread I was about to click buy for the crafty, but I decided I'd like to here from the knowledgeable people of FC before committing!

Currently seriously I'm torn between the Crafty, MiniVap and now the Firefly! More so the Crafty/FF for their portability.

But I truely appreciate everyones advice!

And thanks @little maggie, I'm going to take a look at the supporting stores now and see what kind of deals are available :)!

Hey @mitchgo61 thanks for the info! I'm really torn between the Crafty (or possibly the Mighty) and the FF now.

Do you know of any reliability issues with the FF?

Have you ever tried concentrates in it?

And if you had to own only one vape, which would you choose between the two of them and why?

Sorry for all the questions :D

Oh boy. :worms: The FF has its share of reliability problems. Maybe not more than other portables, but certainly not fewer either. I've been through quite a few units myself, for a variety of failures. If you read the FF thread, or even the "best of" thread you'll see a lot of these issues. (On the plus side they have fantastic customer service, so the reliability issue isn't stressful, IMO.)

Have you ever tried concentrates in it?

I have not, but I have the pads. I've heard mixed things about them. (Again, do a search on the FF thread. I think this might be covered in the last dozen pages or so.)

And if you had to own only one vape, which would you choose between the two of them and why?

This is an extremely difficult question to answer because for me these two vapes are highly complementary. The FF is beautiful, sleek, on-demand, all convection, one hit or session, very weed-conservative, very fickle learning curve, often fussy even for veteran users, and of course, amazing flavor. The Mighty is machine-like, brutal, more session-y than one hit, a bit of conduction mixed with convection (not enough to notice though), uses more weed, zero learning curve, works perfectly and thoroughly and unbelievably simply every time.

If forced to choose, truthfully the Mighty gets a lot more use at my house. It's just so damned easy and amazing and consistent. But the FF gets a lot of play too, and when you just want a couple hits at peak flavor, it's the master of that domain.

With S&B you are basically paying for a name. I like Arizer products but I don't know of any purity tests. It's reliable and does a great job of medicating cord free. They produce good vapor flavor as well as reasonably priced. I would vouch for the Solo or the Air as a portable.

I just don't understand why you'd go with a plastic vape if air purity is your priority. I'm not accusing the S&B brand of being unsafe, but there are plenty of portables with much more trustworthy materials in their airpaths. If purity is a priority, the airpath materials are paramount.

Sorry OP, the VAP2 is a shorthand for the Vapolution 2.0. :) The VAP3 is coming out soon, by the way, as well.

Have you considered The Zion? Full Convection, on demand with the power for full spectrum extraction.

I'm sure you want something available now though...

MV gets my vote. (Especially considering the discount price right now, this device never gets marked down.)

Total aside but this is my least use vape and probably on it's way to my donation bin. It's all glass and probably pure but is a pain to use.

It's definitely a vape that requires a little attention and a bit of getting used to - draw restriction being the main complaint I've heard - but you can't hold that against it when the price is so conservative (as well as its capacity) and it's an all-glass vapor path. :) A little low-end for some, though, I will concede.

It takes too much practice to get that little nugget to stay in place. It ends up being a waste for me. My main vapes are the Haze 3 and Solo/Air. Underdog for plugged.

I can get a new 2015 Crafty vaporizer for around £190, or a Mighty for £220ish of Amazon UK. Whilst the MiniVap portable is €469, approx £330.

(I guess I should have stated in the thread that I was in the UK, vaporizer prices here suck).

On Vapefiend.co.uk the Crafty is only a pound cheaper than the Firefly! Priced at just under £200.

The Goboof Alpha is a hell of a lot cheaper here than in the US because it's made in Ireland.

Vapefiend's Black Friday sale is still on by the looks of it. They are selling MFLBs for £50 with free delivery! That's a deal! They are also doing a sale on the Maud-Dib.

Have you vaped before? I ask because you say that '"I'm looking to get into vaporization" and vapes are obviously an expensive investment for someone who hasn't tried it before. I would assume that most people starting vaping would want to at least start with a cheaper (not necessarily bad quality) vape such as the MFLB to see if they like it first. That's what I did. I then immediately bought a Volcano. Although in terms of what you want, I don't think the MFLB (although very small) is that stealthy compared to other devices that look like mobile phones/radios.

Depending on how much you have in your pocket, I personally would get a cheap reliable back up vape such as the MFLB or the Lotus, to see if I liked vaping first. Then move on to the more serious units.

I think it is important to have a back up unit. Or at least two vapes with different qualities such as a good desktop unit and then a decent portable for your needs.

But I wouldn't worry to much. Most of the vapes you are considering or that have being recommended are top end vapes. They will all do you justice in their own right I'm sure.

Yeah I appreciate that S&B are able to charge more just because of their name. I'm also very tempted by the Air, as it's reasonably discrete with it's shorter glass stem.

It's just that it's the perfect size for me, reasonably discrete, and if the TÜV SUD certification and RoHS compliance are anything to go by, it *should* be producing only pure air / vapor. But you're right, at the end of the day I'd much rather have glass on glass or similar airpath!

Thanks for pointing out The Zion! It looks awesome, but I don't know how long I can wait, I'll have to give my friends Lotus back soon :(. The MiniVap is certainly very tempting right now at the discounted price! The only thing that puts me off is how large it is for a portable.

I'm being swayed towards the Firefly right now, I'm a big fan of it's design! Small enough to fit in my pocket, and reasonably discrete. Removable batteries are always a plus too.

The MiniVap is first on my list for my next purchase. It's kinda expensive so I ended up buying the Haze. The Haze is an awesome vaporizer too. I checked the MiniVap website and it wasnt working very well. I wanted to see if there were any sales through the company. It looks like there aren't very many online stores that carry it, if any. Just the company sells the MiniVap? I guess I could read through the thread. I'm being lazy.

Edit
Wow I checked, it's very expensive for the MiniVap. Just spent a lot for a Haze package and it was a good deal, so I'm not complaining. The Haze will get the job done with herb as well as concentrates.

If you want to buy the MiniVap I believe now is the time!

minivap.com currently have a deal on, 20% off when you enter the following code: MVWEEKENDSALE15

I'm not sure when the deal is going to finish, probably at the end of "Cyber Monday" I guess.

I found out about this in the Black Friday thread :).

I'm extremely tempted to get one myself with that deal, but I can't see myself ever feeling comfortable to take a hit on this thing in public :science:.

Sorry I missed this bit.

Yeah the Haze is definitely on my list too. I like the idea of being able to pre-load the concentrates section with a CBD dab if I wanted.

Do you know what the air path is like on the Haze V3?

Currently I'm trying to choose between:
  • MiniVap
  • Crafty/Mighty
  • Haze V3
  • Firefly
