How did you manage to get yours at 384.99 @Shit Snacks ? Or is that without shipping?

$399.99 EVO Kit + 10% off Stickstones code, + $25 each for shipping + tax. Mine was a hair over 400, like $405? Less I missed a code lol, it's worth the $20 extra just not sure how you guys got to that. Probably missing something obvious

As for the "imperfect" tubes Stickstones was selling, I hadn't bought one yet but I am eyeing one up, and can confirm that the price seemed super fair.

Hmmm, we were both in on the original big blow out sale through end of October right? With stickstones' code mine came to $360 (10% off $400) then $25 for shipping... Don't think I had any tax.

Is there a list of the tubes available somewhere? Or only by request?

Getting a Mobius ion Matrix in the mail soon :)

Whats the best way for using it with Evo

Won't that cause a whole lot of mess if something falls?

Thanks for that! Remember the post but didn't see it updated with the list.

So if I want a circ, maybe a swagger side would be fun to try, different than the Evolver tree for sure... Nice and small too for a sidecar.

Orrrr what about that swagger hydrafoot 2.0, that looks like its a circ too, then I can have circ and tree together instead if devasator clone, but twice the price...

Or that SSG hydraline sure seems neat, looks like it has an ice catch? Anyone have that piece? Not sure if it has the lower spash guard like the new ones.

Of course these might all be spoken for by now, and I'm still not sure $110 is doable for me with one piece of glass...

Also just realized that 7th floor tubing was vinyl not silicone, ehhh not such a fan but they claim its better? I only know EQ vinyl which I don't care for, and it can't be cleaned with ISO can it?

I have it and like it a lot.
It does have ice pinchers. I never use ice however as vapor is always plenty cool and just needs some moisture. For combusting (dirty word here) then I'd find ice useful IMO.

I'm not a fan of open/ bong style mouthpieces so I had @Ratchett make a silicone adapter so i can use a whip OR OGB glass mouthpiece.

Most definitely it was the Tax then, wonder why that was. I actually recall you saying 384.99 at the time, kind of assumed you just forgot tax, interesting, though not a big deal.

In my turkey haze yesterday, I recalled reading about EVOs that seemed to disconnect from the power easily....in my experience, the opposite is true, my power cord is like attached to my EVO, very hard to remove once in there. My .02/experience, meant to chime in yesterday just didn't have a chance

Well my EVO arrived this morning. I'm unwrapping it right now as I write this review. The first impression is quite negative. The Vapexhale box is made from cheap, thin cardboard with low resolution print. I would not call it awful but definitely not he kind you would expect for a premium product. Furthermore the box was dusty and battered around the edges. No seals of any kind. If I had bought this product as a gift I'd say the packaging is unpresentable.

As soon as I took the unit itself into my hands I was blown away from how cheap and low quality it looks. The plastic is low grade, hard and raw (not polished or glossy). Basically the plastic has no finishing what so ever. It looks like the plastic was moulded into the forms screwed together and that's it. The "Vapexhale" logo is barely visible because there are some whitish particles around it. Looks like someone was tampering with it with some smooth sandpaper or something. Basically the whole unit does not have this " brand new thing" appearance and feeling. Some devil inside me whispers that it may be some refurbished unit sold as new.

The unit is very very light. Feels like there is not much inside. And this is bearing in mind that the power cord is massive like taken from some last generation electric kettles or PC's which means big PS unit inside the vaporiser. I don't say that the light weight is a bad thing or some major flaw. I do understand that the modern technologies tend to be smaller in size and weight but nevertheless it makes the product look even cheaper.

Hawing said all this I don't feel like a proud owner of the best desktop vaporiser on the market. In fact I'm sure that if I showed this thing to my friends and say that I paid £269 on Black Friday sale for it, they would think that I'm loosing my edge and going crazy. This "made in the USA" product definitely looks like made in China and not even now, but in 1990's. I think that majority of experienced people would say it's a £30 - £50 quid product no more.

However I have bought it not because of how it looks (it's not a woman for God's sake) but because many people say that it works well, delivers good dense vapour and is a hitter. Since I'm a bit suspicious that this may be refurbished item sold as new I'm hesitating to give it a test. The "vapefiend" terms and conditions say something like: if you are not fully satisfied with the product you may return it within 30 days if not used. It's a bit funny. How can I know if I's fully satisfied without using it at least once? If it works as majority of people say it does then the looks of it become less relevant. I have no intentions to marry EVO but to get high from it.

So the main reason for this wall of text is to find out if they all look the same way as mine? What do you EVO owners have to say? Has anyone had this impression that your just unwrapped EVO does not look sparkling new? Shall I give it a try or send it back for a exchange? I'we also noticed following this thread that there are different versions of EVO for US and Europe and also older and improved versions. Does anyone know how to tell the difference?

Hi FC,
I've ordered the 110v 60hz. Evo even though I live in Denmark (220v 50hz),
now I wonder if any of you who tried this already, could tell me what you bought to make your unit work the way it should...
I think that a combination of a wallplug to dc and a dc > 110v inverter would do it?
If it would, should it be a pure sine inverter and would this eliminate the need for surge-protector?
Hope someone with experience can give me some input...
Best regards Martin

@stickstones Sure I will do it. Will try to get some at least half decent greens and see what it can do.

I think this only indicates how small and niche market is this and how
exaggerated is
this "war on drugs". If there was a demand for herb vaporisers like for lets say kitchen appliances, I'm sure EVO would sell for £50-£60 .

I also understand that I'm a bit on a picky side because I develop, manufacture and sell physical products myself and am quite familiar with the processes, costs, etc.. We aim for high demand products and try to upscale them to a premium level and we always have to go an extra mile or two to give them this "extra premium look and feel". Maybe I just have to calm down and look at the EVO through average consumer's eyes.

Have noticed somewhere in this thread that US an EU units have somehow different temp. settings. So European friends, what are your sweet spots for herbs? Any tips on using this thing with mouthpiece only?

First off, I need to say that this statement "However I have bought it not because of how it looks (it's not a woman for God's sake)" is kind of mildly misogynistic and offensive, just FYI.

To answer your questions, the EVO is incredibly light. That's one of the first things I noticed about it, and I'm fairly certain that it was an intentional design choice, because it makes it easier to invert the unit to use with other glass. I was surprised by how light it was as well but I don't think it made the unit look or feel cheap, nor would I call the plastic "low grade" at all. It's not necessarily the prettiest vaporizer on the market (I suppose it depends on your own standards or whatever) but to me it seems like the people at VXL decided to prioritize function over form, which frankly makes sense to me. I'd rather have a unit that produces killer vapor with almost no effort (as the EVO always does) than something that looks pretty but only provides mediocre performance.

(As an aside, I don't consider the EVO an unattractive unit. It's a simple and fairly sleek design, and while it doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles I don't find them to be all that necessary.)

As far as the packaging goes, I suppose I can't really disagree with you. The box reminded me of a shoe box, which frankly is neither here nor there. Can't say I really paid that much attention to it, as I was eager to get my unit set up and running. I wouldn't call the packaging any better or worse than what my Pax 2 and Mighty arrived in. It felt fine and looked perfectly new to me, but I purchased mine through the VXL site and I've never purchased anything from Vapefiend, so I don't know if they sold you a refurbished unit or not. I would email their customer support and ask if you're concerned about it.

I also doubt your claim that "the majority of experienced people" would consider the EVO a low end product. I paid $384 for mine and frankly it STILL feels like I got a great bargain out of it. Now, am I an experienced user? No, not really. But I've seen plenty of connoisseurs (and respected people in the FC community) posting in this thread extolling the virtues of their EVO -- even those who may have paid $700 dollars or more for their unit.

Older generations of the VXL Cloud are out there somewhere, I'm sure, although I'd hesitate to call them improved. The EVO is the newest iteration of the product, thus making it the "improved" version. I didn't have the opportunity to use the older units, so I can't say if they're better than the EVO or not. Perhaps an early adopter would care to chime in on this? Also, I think the main difference between the US and the international versions is that the international version runs hotter, although I wouldn't quote me on that.

Is the EVO a gorgeous, stealthy piece of machinery? Of course not. But as you said in your own post that's not really all that important. If you want a beautiful vaporizer there are plenty of options available, I'm sure. But I think you're judging a book by its cover here, and quite unfairly I might add. The EVO isn't a perfect unit and VXL isn't a perfect company (a quick read through of the last 5-10 pages would prove as much, as people are having problems with leaky HTs, misbehaving switches, and oddly calibrated dials) but overall satisfaction with the EVO seems to be pretty high (no pun intended!) around these parts, myself included. I've said that the EVO met and exceeded the hype when I first posted about my unit, and that still rings true for me. However, your mileage may very.

Anyway, with all that said: if you think the EVO isn't right for you then you should absolutely return it! Perhaps someone here on FC could even suggest an alternative for you that would suit your needs. Best of luck!

Its not supposed to be pretty it's the nature of the plastic they use. Fire that thing up and take some fat rips, you'll forget all about looks and If you put the sleeve on you don't have to see it.

If you can find a vape that delivers Evo quality vapor for £60, you should return your Evo and buy that immediately.

Also pass the word on to us because I want one.

@twosilvertrees , your comment has been noted. Yes, I agree the "women" bit was out of order. Maybe I should have put "prostitute" instead. My problem here is that English is not my first and not even second language and I often struggle expressing myself the way I want to.

All this wall of text in my post can be summed into this: dusty, battered box, kinda scratchy unit base around the top and the on/off switch made me wander if the unit is truly new. Test it and risk the return option or not? That's it.

Do I think the product is overpriced before I used it? Yes. But this is a very niche product and I'm sure I'd done the same if I was Vapexhale's CEO.

But if it functions at least close to what majority of users testify I will forget the looks, packaging, plastic and maybe my own name :)

p.s. but anyways the base unit does not have this "made in the USA" look and feel. My Apple Macbook Pro has, my nephew's Tesla has and even my old Magic Flight Box .

Like I said in my original post, if you're worried you received a refurbished unit then it's an issue you need to bring up with the company it was purchased from, not with VXL. (Unless I'm misunderstanding you and you did order the unit through the VXL site, in which case definitely contact VXL customer support with your concerns!)

The rest of it is all a matter of personal taste, I suppose. The look and feel of the EVO doesn't really bother me, but I understand if it doesn't meet your standards. Can't please everyone all of the time!

edited to add: I can promise you, with 100% certainty, that your MBPro was made in China!

Just taken advantage of Vapefiend's sale and grabbed 5 more glass nails for £40, that's more like it.

With regards to Vapefiend's ethics, I don't think he's sell a 2nd unit as new, that's just not his style.

I can second that, nothing but good experiences with these guys.

Going to order myself 5 Quartz on Monday when I get paid. Can't pass that price (although I did just pay £60 for 2 only 2 weeks ago, oops)

Cest la vie

Really tempted to get myself a mighty for xmas aswell. I'm naughty, Santa isn't coming here

Got an EU unit with a turbine HT from Vapefiend, before any sales payed nearly £500 for it. Opened it and was suprised at how small and light it was.

Anyway it died after two fifteen minute sessions- (Would not even turn on even after trying the factory reset and another power cable). The next day I contacted Vapefiend and after some discussion was offered to either bring my unit in to them; I also live in London where they are located or pay for a replacement unit shipped out to me and get refunded when they receive and confirm that it is faulty- which is what I did. They also assured me that they would test out the unit before sending it out to make sure it was not faulty- which is what they did.

The only reason I was willing to pay for a replacement is because of how much this device impressed me with the two short sessions I had on it. Coughing and sweating of less then a 0.1 g's of low quality material. For me this is everything I smoke for relief of anxiety which was with me for as long as I can remember ; so the relief of that tightness in my chest and tension headaches is soo worth it for me.

Use it and I am sure all your worries will be put to ease. My method of use with it is twelve o'clock for bigger loads like a 0.15 g's or more and for the smaller loads I use mine on the two o' clock position for dry herbs. I do have a dry mouth piece and didn't really enjoy it much prefer the added effect of water filtration - longer draws and more visually stimulating watching the glass piece milk up during use. So if you have a glass piece that has a 18.8 mm joint try it with that.

I have not used any of my other units since. When I do feel like something diferent I just change up the glass pieces I use on this thing it is very versatile which is another thing I love. If you don't have any glass pieces you can get them for cheap; this is one I just got myself recently http://www.dhgate.com/product/d021-...olor-pipe-with/184390558.html#minicart-1-null.
