Hi everyone. I just orderd my flowermate v5.0s from vapefiend.com for 49.95. Bargain ...
It's my first portable. I use my eq, with ssv and ddave mods, every day, and I truly love it. It's been my escape from tobacco for over 2 months now, but I am worried that the flowermate won't satisfy me after using a desktop for so long. How will it compare. ?

I have an EQ and let me tell you, the EQ doesn't compare with any portable. It's fantastic. That said, the FM is fantastic, I love it just as much as my EQ. Very efficient, delicious, overall great! Good production!

Thanks @throwawaytre3s, good to hear from someone who has both.
After quitting combustion I was blown away by how blown away I got using the eq. It will still be my main vape. I just wanted something for the times I'm not at home. Which isn't often. Im sure it will be satisfactory to my needs.

hey @KeroZen , it's been a long time since I've been on FC, been using my 5.0s for two years now , just bought a pro , the 5.0s I could take apart and take out the bottom screen to clean once it's clogged , but I've been reading new post and it seems the pro and mini is harder to take apart and clean . Can u give me some advice on how to take apart the pro? I'm afraid I'll break it not knowing if the ledscreen is connected to the outer casing , thank you bud

I used to use my EQ on the couch & then when I migrated to bed or was out & about the FM Pro would "lace up the boots". Great vape & is the best first vape I could recommend for someone as well. Cheap, cheerful & idiot proof for an inexperienced vaper.

Thanks @throwawaytre3s, good to hear from someone who has both.

planetofthevapes has a blackfriday deal going on today for the V5.0S for 59.99 (first 50 orders) shipped, and 79.99 shipped for the mini.

59.99 is lowest I've seen the V5.0S.

Yeah, it look goods. I'm torn between the Pro and the Mini Pro. Stealth vs battery life I guess. Hope we get to see the upgrades soon.

Was 39.50 on vapefiend
Nice. Is that US or UK $ ?

Also to others. The reason I went for the mini vs pro was mainly because this review. Even though this review is pretty long, he puts it up against a pro and shows the neat little trick you can do with the draw which sold it for me.

I think there's another advantage to the Mini format many don't appreciate. Having only one cell it charges at 5 VDC so USB ports and a simple cable can do the job. The full size versions, having a two cell battery, needs 9 VDC to charge and use a 'strange connector' to do it. So while the Mini needs charging twice as often there are many more options on doing so.

So any idea where one could get the new mini 5.0 pro on this black Friday?

Maybe even at a sweet price...

@str1pes, that was uk price. They soon put it up after a couple of hours.

Will I be able to vape hash in my flowermate. It's very high quality hash if that helps

@kellya86 : maybe using cotton or a hemp fiber ball, or mixing with herb... but you might risk gunking everything otherwise. Never tested.

@Bebop : I haven't found how to dismantle the pro as there is no screw on the bottom part anymore. Maybe it just needs more force to slide the internals up? I think there is a protective plastic screen cover on top of the real screen but you still need to be careful not to scratch it when removing it.

So there isn't a smooth ceramic bowl that can be easily wiped clean with iso.

Iv just realised I may have bought an inferior model. How much difference is there between the 5.0s and the pro.?

No, it stains. And you have to be careful with ISO (even if it worked) since it'll get into the works through the bottom.

Not much. Variable temperatures, and the two switches and display necessary to do that. You do get a 4 step 'battery meter' (which is nice). Same oven/heater/MP/battery/charger/charge life.

If I could go back I would have saved myself $40 & got the 5.0S:). At the price you paid you probably got the older model (a new one just came out with some extra accessories) but the vape is the same & that is a good thing.

The pro is to me much better because it can do low temps. The 5-S three settings are rather poorly chosen (too high to start with and too close to each other) If you like terpenes hits and more cerebral highs you will love it.

The pro also heats faster but it doesn't appear to be more powerful once going. And yes, the battery gauge display is a nice plus as I often have bad surprises with my 5-S when I load it and try to turn it on, only to be greeted by the 3 blinking red flashes...

I checked FM-usa website the other day and noticed there was only a $10 difference between the S and the pro. It would be really silly not to get the Pro over the S IMHO.

All fair enough points. I tended to use the Pro at around 190-205 anyways so the three temp would have been very suitable for me. Being a bit more "educated" in low temp appreciation now I can see the value of lower temps. I could have purchased the 5-S for $115 or the Pro for $155 when I got the pro. On reflection I did not feel it was worth a 35% price premium for a secondary vape.

@KeroZen the new chamber screens that come with the pro keep falling out of the oven , so I put an old version screen in , now I can't get it out, It seems hard to take apart to use the pin under the oven method , I'm asking the seller to see if there's any way to take it out

@KeroZen I have managed to dismantle the pro , just start at the top where the screws are , unscrew the the screws and open the top cover , then push down and it will open . I use the pin under the oven method and the stuck screen popped out lol .i used a old screen cause the new ones with the bigger holes kept falling out , but the old one just got stuck , tried using a needle to pick it out but just ended up scratching my oven . Is the oven safe to use if it's scratched ? And when my pro is heating up and running , when I put my ear to the air intake hole , I can hear mechanical sounds, sounds like the temp control unit , sort of like the clicks you hear on bike gears . Is this normal ?

Yes the sounds are perfectly normal. It's sad that you scratched your bowl but it shouldn't be a problem.

It's a bit silly because I think that with a couple sessions of use your screen would have started to become sticky and should have stayed in place better.

I hope you'll like your Pro anyways! :)
