I know this has been discussed before but i did a search and i see no answers. Is there a USB charger that will work for the fw 3.0 or possibly another charger from another vape anyone has tried and had success with ?

Just so Dab HAppy!
I've been searching for a car charger... based on the Firewood specs and the included charger, this looks like a possible match: http://www.powerstream.com/nimh-car-3-4.htm

I'm no battery expert though, so don't take my word for it! @firewood please let us know if that charger should be safe, or if there's a better option?

You can just use an inverter in your car. But it doesn't charge while on. So the car adapter isn't as useful to sell or buy..

Also there is a battery pack option that can be used to provide direct power to your FW3 or charge it. http://www.frys.com/product/7726858?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

When I asked Marc about using http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/131318469799?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82 and this is the response I received:
"As for those links, I don't think either would be capable of supplying enough current. The firewood needs about 5A. Normal USB ports don't go that high and that charger only goes up to 2A."

Just google "USB Male To 5.5x2.1mm Plug DC Power Supply Socket Extension Cable Cord" and you will get a ton of results. The problem you will have is finding a USB power supply that will put out 5A. They only go up to 2A typically. If you find one, please do post it.

Can it be plugged into lets say a ipad usb wall charger ?

There are two reasons to plug it into a usb port - charging, and supplying power to drive the device when batteries are dead. Charging might be possible from a usb port because it doesn't require a lot of current. The problem will be finding a usb charger that can charge 4.8V NiMH packs properly. Driving the device from usb will not work because it requires too much current (5A).

Yeah was kinda looking for something so when I'm out and about and the batteries are getting low I can charge maybe from a battery pack or the car or even a computer. I don't want to have to unscrew , take batteries out and charge and I wouldn't want carry around the charger supplied with me everyplace I go. Thanks for the reply

A good option for that is a 4 cell aa battery holder with 5.1mm plug. You can put standard eneloop batteries in there use it on the go. The intention is not to charge the device but to plug into the extra pack when the main batteries are dead and use the extra pack as the power source.

This is the option paytonpenn and I have taken. You have to carry around the pack but its small(half the size of the FW3) and only as heavy as the extra four batteries.
Here are a few pics of the Firewood next to the battery pack and ESV

Ive read mostly great reviews as i expect of the firewood. I see alot of users using temps 1&2 and was wondering are there any users mostly trying temps 3&4? I usually like higher temps especially for night time use.

I've tried to start at temps 1 and 2 but both are to weak for my liking. Now I just use temp 3 exclusively. I've finished some off at temp 4 but really don't need to as temp 3 seems good for me from start to finish.
I don't find it to hot or harsh but I'm a x smoker, I lay the heat heavy to Lily also and do love chasing those clouds!

Can anyone offer me up a comparison( if they have one) between the diffrence with firewood and mighty? (Vapor quality, battery) I need an on demand pure convection vape while I wait for my grasshopper. Is this vape on demand convection? Or does the coil heat the chamber even if not drawing? Would love to read more about the drawing/heating element

@firewood What's the exact difference between the regular walnut and the unfinished one... Is it hard to finish it ourselves? I'd like to try that out and love to work on it... But I'm a total noob to this.
Is the beeswax included in the package meant for this purpose? (It's in the package of the regular ones too.. So I need to get different stuff for finishing?? Tools too?)

Would really like to get one, PMed you some days ago, wrote you a mail too... Hope to get an answer soon and we can work something out :(

I have asked these same questions so I can answer them for you as well. Walnut, maple and cherry are the species of wood used. The wood is not finished. Beeswax is more of a sealer/protectant/restorer to the original wood.
I am sure finishing the device would be easy, but you would need to make sure you get something that is safe to bring to hugh temps after it has cured and you should give it twice as long cure time IMO, however I would never add a finish to something I want to be inert and natural.

Edit in:
Finishing the device would only requie a rag and sandpaper as far as tools go.

It is true convection. Heating has been talked about and explained by the manufacturer within the last two pages I believe. Read backwards and you will get to know this vape fast.

Thanks, man. So I guess a finish is obligatory to make the FW resistant to all kinds of wear and tear and have it last longer in it's beauty. I might go for a finished one then.

BTW, is anyone from the EU interested in buying one of these too on Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I'm in the only EU country that Marc's not gonna send to yet... So if anyone is interested in splitting the shipping costs for a combined shipment - and would forward the other unit over to me (of course I will pay the postage), PM me please! :)

The only difference between unfinished and finished is that the finished version gets sanded to a finer grit and gets an application of the beeswax oil. The unfinished is still sanded pretty smooth and with a little more sanding (or not) plus adding the beeswax yourself it will basically be the same as if you ordered finished.

@firewood Is there a way to chat with you? You got skype or imessage or something I could get in contact with you without too much trouble? If so, please PM me... I don't want to bother you too much :)

I noticed on the site that the unfinished version with a charger is $135 which is $5 more than a finished one. Just wanted to let you know in case it was a mistake

Edit: For some reason the drop down didn't pull up on the finished version IDK might be because I'm on my phone

It's only 130$ finished WITHOUT a charger... so if you compare em, you gotta to take that into account too ;)
Basically, it's 135 $ to 147$ then :)

Yeah I just noticed that when I added it to the cart for some reason the drop down wasn't coming up for me in the finished section.

Yeah sorry about how it shows 130 then 147 when you click on the product because it adds the charger. I'd prefer it to show the default (with charger, $147) on the main page but can't get that to work. I'll get that straightened out eventually.

@firewood Marc, if you could reply to me via mail (or in any way), I'd greatly appreciate it... Don't know what I have to do to get a response - all I wanna do is business and work something out to get one from you.

Has anyone entered the code during payment process successfully? I was trying to using PayPal... but there's no box to enter something?

I was planning on buying the firewood while it's on sale. But most of the reviews say it has a long learning curve. I really don't do well with anything that has a learning curve of any kind. Is this still true of the 3?
