Christmas sorted Cheese, Skywalker OG, S.A.D and amnesia kush plus some jelly hash - avoided the traditional Christmas drought plus the Cheese is indica weighted which is good

I learned many years ago to stock up for the inevitable xmas drought. Man I'm happy I don't have to worry about that anymore. Last year i woke up on xmas morning with not a flower to my name, luckily my guy came through on Xmas morning for me. Legend. But still stressful.

Being self sufficient kicks arse. I can't recommend enough. If you can cultivate, don't hesitate....

I used to grow every year. but my current situation won't allow it. I had forgotten what a pain it is trying to source decent material.

I can't imagine having to go back to playing the weed lottery, I do miss having more variety, but I don't miss the shitty laced or badly grown/cured buds
I'll pick consistency over variety every time. I only grow 2 or 3 plants a time. Just enough to keep myself in constant supply.

I tend to put at least a Q of any real nice stuff I get through the year and at least a gram of any wax that had been around that year. I can't recommend this enough!!

It can be torture at times, but that Christmas jar will never get opened, this year we have tangie, white walker OG, diamond OG, jillybean, s.a.g.e, xxx OG, NYC diesel, Martain candy and some Blue cookies(only about a gram of each) 7 grams of gorilla glue #4 and almost a gram of mystery oil

Right now I am vaping some horribly grown commercial stuff with no cure just so I can hold that tasty array for my holiday period.

Been hard to hold onto some of them this long, but will be worth it I'm sure!!

This would have been impossible for me only a year ago. I have learned a lot this year and have a lot of you guys to thank amongst others.

Balance almost achieved

Christmas was always the time of year in days gone by when the decent hash would dry up and 2 weeks into it the soapbar grade used to appear to magically fill the void.

Prohibition causes more problems than it ever can hope to solve.

I wish I'd had enough flowers during the year to be able to save some for xmas, I'm usually dry before I can re stock. :(
Starting to run low now, but I'm hoping to get my hands on some northern lights x haze, nicole kush and critical kush soon.

FC christmas club lol :haw:

I'm glad I've saved up 16g of 3 types of jelly hash as it is no longer available.

I find a good 6 month cure in a kilner jar improves weed. The SAD I have has been stored since April it's lost some smell and taste but extra potent.

I always find the smell and flavors struggle to remain beyond 6 months. The ones that lose the most seem to be the rubbish versions of blue cheese apart from big buddas version

I have 55grams of original amnesia top colas of amazing quality, that will be 3 month slow cured by xmas day when I open.
I also am in the process of making a selection of concentrates so I can have like a cheese board of concentrate on xmas night .

Going for some bho, qwiso hash, rosin and oil. I will also have some pollon and will be using my avb in a yule log.

Gonna be a good Xmas this year.

Curious to know your process for the 'oil' concentrate you mention? Have experience with all others, but can't figure out a possible extraction process I'm missing. Was tempted to get the dry sift screens out but working in retail at this time of year is not conducive to doing the same amount of work you have put in, admirable. Wish I had the time, I would much rather sift than put up Black Friday point of sale..gadz

Excellent shout on the avb Yule log...stolen

The oil is simple. Just wash the herb with 99.9 iso, and the obvious filtering, boil off and you get left with oil that never solidifies. Nice and amber and tasty. I have more trouble with rosin and bho.

Is that not the qwiso you mentioned? If not I'm interested in trying this

What makes it different from qwiso?
Always looking to learn
Cheers

I am new to concentrates so bear that in mind.
My first wash of top cola bud is set aside for oil. This will also be when everything is coldest. This ends up very pure, and behaves as oil. So I call it oil.

The second and third wash and washing of trim goes to a different pirex dish, this ended up with more impurities in it, and ends up solid, like hash. So I call it qwiso hash.

I understand these definitions are likely incorrect, but as I said, I'm learning.

Aren't we all

Thanks for clarifying. Figured it was more to do with texture than process. Still don't fully understand the naming structure myself. Seems to be different everywhere.

I seriously wish this was all out in the open and we could stop hiding. would be good to go on the journey into concentrates, cultivation etc with a group of like minded people as opposed to by myself under an anonymous handle on the Internet.

Don't get me wrong, there are stoners round here. But they are all fuckwits and keep paying 20quid for 1-2 grams of poison, which of course results in dealers perpetuating the cycle. If they just stopped, it would change in a second. Sorry for my bad language but it's how I feel.

Thank god we have this platform at least.

On a lighter note, rambling means I'm stoned

Peace to all

I hear that. My journey to cultivation and medication, through vapourization, would have been alot easier with some like minded, intelligent people to share my experience with and learn with and from. Instead iv had to filter the misinformation and do my best and learn from experience.

Couldn't agree more in terms of growing your own, it eliminates the sense of marijuanoia when you are running low & fearing replenishment issues.

I used to dream about having ample reserves of a few select strains in my cupboard, the weed equivalent of a wine cellar. Alas, that dream still evades me due to the fact that cultivation of cannabis is still illegal in the UK.

General note on cultivation; there is so much info out there it is at times overwhelming & occasionally contradictory but it ultimately boils down to some key criteria. I would so relish trying to grow at least of few new strains every few months, hypothetically speaking of course.
I am sure I would find the horticultural process itself quite fascinating and the beauty and variety of plants would be like a never-ending journey of discovery. I have also heard via the local shoe shine boy that Drying & curing the final product can allegedly make a huge difference (sure it would - versus the damp, leafy stuff sold readily round my way for £40 a bag).

Girl Scout cookies & Blue Diesel for Xmas please Santa.....

I'm not from the UK... I'm from a neighbouring green island and now live in Spain (sort of) but man, I love vaping with my Davinci Ascent - I think I'm vaping Critical + right now at 195°C. Ah! What I wanted to say... Best thing about the UK is BBC 6 Music - quality radio all day long, especially at the weekends... Iggy Pop, Don Letts, Nemone, Huey Morgan, Tom Ravenscroft and probably my all time favourite - Gilles Peterson. Gotta love 6MUSIC :peace:
