Here! Here! Everyone who hates to pay shipping!!
Vape xHale is having a sale with free shipping on domestic orders!!
From11/23-11/26 with code!

I'm assuming you can't use two codes for one sale, but I don't know. The 10% off code usually saves more when ordering a kit, but the free shipping might be better for smaller orders. Let me know if any of you guys play around with the codes and figure out which one works better.

Pretty disappointed with the EVO experience second time around so far. I ordered and waited 8 days for my EVO to be shipped UPS ground from PA to OR. I'm not sure why it costs $25 to ship a small box via ground.

When I opened the box, the hydratube was very poorly wrapped and was broken so I contacted VXL and asked if they could get me a new one before Thanksgiving. They sent another one out right away, but didn't bother to send it any faster than usual. Now I have to wait 11 more days for my hydratube to make its way via UPS ground again. That's a total of nearly 3 weeks to get a working EVO and hydratube.

But wait...there's more.

When I tried turning off my EVO the first time I discovered that the switch does nothing. So I have to unplug the EVO to use it right now.

I also ordered a total of 10 ELBs but when I try to fit each one into the EVO only 2 out of 10 will fit. Even if I tried to force the other 8 into the EVO it wouldn't work.

So 2 weeks after ordering and all I have is a defective EVO, a broken hydratube and 80% defective ELBs.

Has anyone else experienced quality control issues? I'm starting to regret buying another EVO.

I'm confused, so apologies, I just couldn't wrap my brain around this. Just medicated so I do apologize, just confusing to read.

"So I have to unplug the Evo to use it right now"......do you mean you have to unplug it for the unit to work correctly (as in shut off)? Or you need to unplug it to use, this very instant? This sentence just threw me for a loop lol.

Is your switch just default "on" I guess? So you plug it in and the lights turn on? And the only way to turn it off is unplugging it?

A few of my ELBs were quite snug. They took some wiggling to get in, they fit fine now. Just needed to get worked.

The $25 is a bummer, but if it makes you feel any better its still $25 to ship from Eastern PA to Western PA. Fragile wares I guess, everything was intact and packaged good when I got mine so no complaints, but it does sting a bit for sure, I definitely wasn't super happy at the time, was happier when I got a working and great EVO lol!

That is a bummer that you are having problems, I haven't experienced anything like that but I'm sure you'll be taken care of, seems like they are doing right by people around here at least. Best of luck!

Sorry that confused you. The switch doesn't work so the only way to turn it on and off is by plugging and unplugging it.

I've owned an EVO that had some issues before and like you said, I'll be taken care of eventually. I just wish I was taken care of better. If I ever sold my customer a $400 item and a piece was broken, I'd overnight the broken piece instead of making them wait 11 more days to use their new item. Am I expecting too much?

Hey! So sorry to hear you're having problems with your EVO, but I've discovered the switch issue is generally an easy fix! I find if you seat the dial in its "resting notch" (basically turn it until you feel the dial kind of "settle in", for lack of a better term) and then toggle the switch on and off rapidly, the EVO starts to behave itself again. I've had the issue twice and both times this has resolved it. I wish I could remember who gave me the advice to credit him, but I can't. Hopefully this will solve your issue, however.

If you don't mind me asking, what notch did that unit rest on and what were your min/max dial settings? I only have 3 gripes about placing my order a few weeks ago. I wish the boxes to the unit and HT didn't have caved in corners, wish my Honeycomb Perc worked at 100% but it's fine, and I happened to by an extra silicon container without knowing I was going to get one for free. Also during checkout I didn't see anything about entering a code at all so I never received my 10% discount for my almost $500 total purchase. So not much to really complain about at least not about the product anyhow.

However, this past week, the light's have been going off like crazy.. doing strange things like turning red after it's green, not turning red when switching from Noon to 4 on the dial and flashing what appears to be a yellow light as well. There was also a drop in performance and I have to turn my 11 o clock notch unit all the way up to 1pm when I used to be able to get nice thick vapor at Noon. I also asked Jeff to adjust my knob making my 11 o clock unit a Noon and will change my max temps from 6 and 4 to 7 and 5.

Sending it in tomorrow via UPS. Looks like my Plenty is going to get some use for the time being.

Thanks for the idea. I tried it 3-4 times at the center detent position as well as all the way down and all the way up. The light just never goes off.

My unit's center detent position is set at about 10-11 o'clock. Sorry you've been having some issues with your unit too. My last EVO did the flashing on and off thing so I had to send it in and have it reset.

I don't mind sending in a vaporizer for repair after a few months if something goes wrong but I do think a $400+ vaporizer should arrive in good working condition. If my unit had been cycled on and off just once before shipping, the defect would have been obvious.

No need to apologize friend :) I assumed that's what ya meant but I had just indulged in the Evo and brain wasn't functioning proper

I would say no you aren't but they can't control shipping time.....I do agree tho that new pieces should be sent out of warehouse ASAP for you, however long it takes UPS tho I don't think is in their hands. (11 days seems long all things considered)

I sympathize with you! I hope you get your unit up and running ASAP!

It seems as though the vibe of this thread changed since vapexhale dropped their prices. A lot of issues with the dial, hydratubes, and the lights. Is it because there has a been an influx of new purchases due to the drop in pricing, giving us a larger sample size? Or is vapexhale getting rid of "bottom of the barrel" evos?

Maybe I'm wrong and this is normal with the infancy of the vaporizer industry. I know when it works, it seems like the seasoned vaporists favorite tool. But I want my dial to go from 7 to 5, like in sneaky pete's video. I want the hydratubes to work well. Maybe the grav labs hydratubes have less problems. The advice from Slow Draw McGraw has my vas going crazy. At the same time, lazy lightning's second purchase of the evo shows qc problems that does not instill too much confidence for a new buyer.

I know I will eventually purchase it (unless I quit mmj altogether-a big possibility). I hate dealing with returns and exchanges.

@mixchu69 - the dial is a new thing and was what looks to be a batch assembled differently. The HT issue isn't one...glass is made by hand and we all have different expectations. The lights have always been what they are today...an interface that few of us truly understand! Of these three things, the only one that concerns me is the dial, and that is easy for them to stop from happening again.

Y'know, there is one thing about my EVO that drives me a little crazy and I'm wondering if anyone has the same issue. Basically, the power cord doesn't seem to really seem to fit into the back? I'll have my unit plugged in and turned on (I can see the light is red) and I'll walk away, only to come back and see it's not on anymore despite not having touched it. Fiddling with the power cord (adjusting its position/pushing it in) usually fixes it. I know the power cord is heavier than the unit itself, but it just seems so SENSITIVE, like it won't stay in. It's kind of annoying when I've turned the unit on and gone about my business while I wait for it to heatsoak, only to find it hasn't been heating the entire time.

Anyone else have this issue? It's not a big deal, but it's mildly irritating. (My unit is one with the 11 o'clockish dials, btw)

My cord is super tight. I have to use force to put it in all the way and take it out. Are you sure it is inserted fully? I know sometimes I only get it halfway in, then it can pop out. If it's fully seated, it doesn't budge easily.

I try to push it in further and it doesn't really feel like there is more room to force it in, but maybe that's because I was worried about damaging the device and I didn't push hard enough. I'm on a tbreak right now and I've basically locked the EVO away so I don't get the urge to use it, but next time I plug it in I'll definitely see if there's more room that I've somehow missed. My cord definitely does not fit snugly though, I don't think.

Sweet I have a hydrabomb. You gonna design some crazy EVO stuff! We all love glass here man! Lol

Edit. I deleted other content because I went into a tangent.

@KidFated. :D
Making any kind of vertical water tool besides a Circ perc is gonna be pretty damn hard to do by hand without a lathe....i had some Klein esq ideas (not recycling, just self penetrating) Doing a Klein seal on a handmade 18mm Joint with a Dewar seal while keeping everything centered is gonna be a huge challenge. I have some other ideas but no promises this is gonna be tough.... i do have a bubbler base idea in mind... so that the cloud just sits vertical on top of a glass base with a perc\downstem? maybe a nice mouthpiece or even just a GonG connection for detachable whip? GonG plug for carb?....who knows im gonna play around.

Ah sounds like your Evo was exactly like how mine first came in the Evolver Hydratree bundle a few weeks ago. It was a weekend so had to wait for a response, but VXL sent out a replacement unit once they saw mine had shipped back to them (fortunately I also lived closer though it still took a few days).

The replacement still had a non noon notch, but its closer and it works better overall, switch is fine. A weird thing happened once where it was green aftet having already been on through several auto shutoffs yet wasnt warm anymore, but i turned it off plugged in and out and all was fine, seems to have been a fluke.

I also had hydratube issues so that was a bit of back and forth, mine all worked at least though. See if they can at least check the hydratube for you before shipping if its going to be such a long wait (along with the ELBs), and hopefully they'll send your replacements immediately instead of waiting for yours to go out bc it all arrived DOA and youre far away, plus a repeat customer too...

Good luck dude

My stock cord was so tight I thought it would pull the unit apart when being removed. I bought a 12' cord off ebay and it fits better, as well as being nice and long.

I'm not too bothered by the wonky dial. The main thing is that we all get the same temp range. And my cord is ok.

Can I make a suggestion for this thread.... when talking about the dial being at 3 o'clock etc. Seeing as dials start and finish in different places, and we should all be getting the same 10 hour temp range, would it be better to say 'I had the dial on setting 8 of 10' for example. If that makes sense.
