The program is kinda on hold right now until Uncle Vito is back in business full steam but we will always make exceptions for FC Family. :)

That's great to hear. How exactly do I go about participating in the pif program?
I finally got the funds and am very anxious! TIA!

Congrats on the new Haze web site, Scott. Its really nice, very easy to navigate and looks great as well. It gives Haze a very modern, professional looking portal.

And a tip o' the hat to ShayWhiteGrow. That was very cool of you, indeed.

yo, Don't be a style biter. That's my line that you done did use. Where are my royalties @!?

Received my Haze v3 the other day and am quite pleased except for one thing. I've run a small session through each oven and it gave great vapor, but the taste seemed kinda weird, kinda like sour plastic if I had to describe it.

Now my only other experience is with the E-Nano and I know that gives very clean hits in comparison being all glass, but I was just wondering if this is normal. I read the taste should go away after a few more sessions but I just wanted to make sure this isn't toxic in any form.

Also the unit seems to run quite hot. At heat setting 2 it is almost too hot to hold from the oven side but the other side is fine, is this normal?

Sounds odd, I never had a sour plastic taste to it or heard of that. Compared to my Underdog I would not say flavor is compromised. I do like the glass stem better, but I do long sessions and I find the glass stem stays cooler to my lips. It's slightly cleaner flavor wise too.

Now I can't measure ours side by side but it does not sound like you have a heat problem. The heat is normal right by the oven, but the side with the Haze symbol will stay cool even on a long session at four. You can put the tip of the oven lid (which does not get hot) in your right palm and make a bridge with your fingers so they touch the cool side of the Haze. I usually just use my left hand to hold it.

I havent heard too many people complaining about a plastic taste issue but there have been a few instances where people have believed that the silicon lids alter the flavor a bit. This is usually when they are brand new and that problem seems to disappear rather quickly. As far as the heat. Yes the oven side does get warm. It has to heat up to temperatures over 3oo - 400 degrees F. Ive never felt it was a big problem and while it can get a bit uncomfortable, Ive never felt it was at the point of burning me. Ive figured that the oven side heat was a design compromise. If you insulate that area to avoid all of the heat you add a lot of extra weight to a portable unit that needs to be light and sleek. Since its easily held from the non oven side with no heat issue, Ive never seen it as a problem. On the other hand, I kind of like it during sessions outside during the winter time because it works quite nicely as a very efficient hand warmer. So yeah the oven side heat is normal and really not a problem once you adapt to it. The one thing I would check out on your unit is your post vaped herb to see if it is over vaping. While its been quite rare, there have been a few cases where the heating element has overheated and combustion may have occurred. This issue was addressed with the new V# and I havent heard of it being much of a problem since it came out but you may want to check for that just for peace of mind.

@Slow Draw McGraw Vape sess during a jam sess sounds like a blast. Those pictures remind me of my buddy's place where we jammed recorded and partied at all the time. We had a few different bands that we put together from hardcore/ metal to reggae jam band, what great times... If I only had a vape tho haha.

@CarolKing welcome to the haze family!! Can't wait to hear what you think!

@Sevenaito

It could be that there was a little bit of the plastic tape left on your mouthpiece wheb you startet vaping, that was holding it in place for transportation.
That was the cause for the plastic smell on my unit.

I did a burn off on my unit a couple times. I also did a swipe of some ISO. The first bowl it had a new vape taste but it went away. It's a solid unit for sure and feels very well made are my first impressions.

I find that the basket for herb is small and difficult to use and I have small hands and fingers. Not sure how you guys deal with that far as putting the lid on. I can see that it would be a convenience for on the go use with preloaded baskets. I suppose I will get the hang of it after a few times.

I like the choice of having the 2 different stems. I've been using the metal one more. I don't want to break my glass one I'm a clutz.

I've tried both screens the conduction as well as the convection and I think I like the conduction screen better. I will be continuing to get to know this unit so could change my mind about the screens. I can see where it just gives you more of a variety of ways to enjoy your unit. I have a nice supply of product and not much planned for the weekend.

I charged the batteries for 7 hours initially. Thanks @scottg402 for all your help.

Carol, I am flagging @scottg402. The Haze folks specifically recommended that we not do a traditional burn off on the device because running it empty may damage the oven. At least, I thought they said that in an earlier post. If true, maybe Haze needs to include a note to that effect with the device because most vaporizers DO need a burn off, so most people would do it immediately.

I often fill my screens in situ but the cans out. I do not have any dexterity issues, but do have small hands, so I just hold the can between thumb and forefinger left, and use the right to slide the lid onto the can properly. How full are you filling and how tight? I fill can loose to top and let the lid compress material, but you could pack and leave appropriate room at top for lid placement, which also makes the material less likely to fall out if you are shaking the can around.

Glad you got the Haze, I love it!

I didn't realize about the no burn off rule. I didn't catch that. I could have read that somewhere and forgot. The unit seems to be working fine. I have a 10 year warranty, hope I didn't blow that.

I did a burn off empty and a burn off filled with product to get rid of any new taste.

I like low temp for flavor. It has a feel like those little theater binoculars.

The unit has a good door seal mechanism. I didn't have to worry about it opening up. Someone had mentioned they didn't like how it opened. I have no problem with how the door opens up. I notice I have about 50-60 min on the battery before its spent - 5 to 6 sessions for me.

I may use a sharpie to tell the batteries a part. I have a total of 4 batteries so that will work perfect.

Haven't tried any concentrates yet. I have some shatter and hash. More testing required.

Don't worry Carol. Should you have any difficulty we have your back.

I am a low temp guy too! :)

With wax or shatter that's where this unit really impressed me. I had it on temp 3 and had lots of vapor clouds and really good flavor. It wasn't harsh at all. I have a problem with the ecig style of pens because they get really harsh when vaporizing concentrates.

I tried a little of my shatter and the hash so I used it 2 separate times. A 5 min session each time.

The batteries do take a long time to charge - like 4 hours. I would suggest that you get a total of 4 batteries.

I made sure I cleaned out the oven and the oil can real well after trying out the concentrates. Felt lazy but wanted to keep it clean.

So, I love my Haze, with just a couple of tiny hmmmm items...

I find concentrates really do work better with the pad, and at 1 or 2 temp settings... less sticky all over the inside of the unit. And oh, does it get sticky! The low-temp dabs are amazing, really.

The mouthpiece. Bless its little heart. Seems like the only options are carry the mouthpiece separate, and stick it in as needed, or have fingertips/nails of steel to pry it out of its self-storage, once it's been used once. See, I like the ability to use, use later, use later again...
Yes, I know I can use the tweezers. But I don't want to carry them. I want to not need a separate tool along every time...

The SS MP, being slightly more porous than the boro, gets a bit sticky and hard to slide out quicker. Cleaning is easy, of course, though I do seem to do a lot of swabbing inside the MP channel [insert scene from Sense and Sensibility: "What is swabbing"] to get all the residue.

Everyone at Haze Technologies is young, agile, dexterous, and have perfect vision, I'm guessing. Everything is really tiny, and needs really good fine motor skills, like the herb cans with the SS screen lids.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Haze. But it is not for anyone with fine motor issues, arthritic fingers, or difficulty working with really small parts.

What it does, it does really, really well. :)

@Enchantre i was laughing reading your post. I had to put on my reading glasses in order to use the wax and herb baskets and I had a hard time getting the tiny lids on too, especially the silicone lid for the wax.

This vaporizer does its job very well and I have been having a nice time getting acquainted with it but the tiny pieces were difficult for me as well.

I will be looking forward to the video on cleaning. Also wondering about when ABV falls down where the lid attaches. Its difficult to clean around in that area, I used a swab and turned my unit up side down and shook it. I wasn't sure if all the ABV fell out or not.

Ladies thanks very much for the feedback. Small parts are not always so fun to deal with I agree but it's the tradeoff for this level of versatility I suppose.

@Enchantre there is a bit of tolerance with too tight and too loose in some cases. There is also sometimes a difference between SS and glass. One thing that helps regardless is if you let that resin warm up a little it slides out pretty easy.

Edit: Carol I use the brush for those nooks and crannies but yes there are a few spots on the Haze that ABV can get into, Some of those areas aren't so accessible and thats something for us to work on. :)

I was wondering if the @Ed's TnT WonG that's advertised on the Haze website, is it for the older model?
Wanted to get an 18mm WonG for my new unit. Did I hear the WonG for the newer model Haze was still in the works? Thanks @scottg402 for being such a great resource.

Enjoying some Blackberry Kush in my Haze, settling down before bed. It has a nice flavor.:smug:
