glad to know that about the adapter, I was honestly tempted to get one to see if it worked any better but it sounds like the flat coil I'm using is likely the most optimal setup already.

what temps are you running at now? I've still using it at 717f, and always with the quartz.

I think we're at 720 but we were at 770 with the adapter. 720 vaporizes flower like nobody's business.

So I ended up getting the coil that DNail sells that this nail was designed around. Basically the flat coils Auber sells have an 8mm opening in the center and the ones DNail sells has a 10mm opening in the middle. The 10mm opening fits perfectly around the "shoulder" on the Genesis nail. When you screw it all back together, you have the flat coil in between the chambers and the heatsink piece underneath.

This coil is the way this nail was meant to be used. I wish I had never bought the adapter because it just doesnt put the heat in the right place. Ive been able to drop the temperature about 40 degrees and the nail is still just as effective.. and I have the quartz dish in.

I can honestly say if youre using one of these in an enail configuration, you NEED the coil from Dnail... that is unless you can unwind yours and open the middle up. I didnt have much luck with this.

bumping this thread as I just purchased a Genesis Micro.
Do to various issues I'm going to be returning it for a full size Genesis.
Thanks Catherine @ Happy Daddy, you guys have been great!

Anyway, I already purchased a Auber RDK200 with a flat coil; after reading the quoted post, it sounds like I need to return it as it doesn't mate well with the Genesis.

Has anyone else had good / bad luck with using a Auber with the Genesis?
An Auber flat coil be used on the SiC dish from DNail, correct?

The Auber unit works great, their coil is too small tho. You can get the right coil from @VoltageKeeper or buy one from DNail. I have one of both.. they both work great.

The HDG has been my daily driver for months....

I just picked up a genesis enail with adapter to be used with divine tribe enail(off here) and I can't get a good hit even after setting temp @ 830 and letting heat for awhile. With IR it's hitting around 260. Is this because the coil I'm using? I can get a good rip with a quartz domeless but not this, but it seems the coil sits in a better spot for more accurate temps. I guess I'm just confused.

^^^ My thoughts as well.
Genesis is designed for a flat coil.
Micro Genesis is designed for a 16mm coil.

I can't find the chart now, but D-Nail had a temp chart for the Happy-Daddy Genesis.
@iDRINKBLEACH, you may already have access to it, because IIRC the running temp for the full size Genesis was 830*.
It needs temps that high because of the additional sublimation chamber that lies between the coil the head of the nail.

What kind of coil are you using? Flat or barrel?
I'm using a regular.

Would I be able to add some extra temp to the enail to compensate for the wrong coil.

Yeah not really wanting to torch it maybe, bummer I'm going to start looking into a new coil to use it. Yeah sorry a barrel.

The barrel coil sucks with that nail. I have the barrel adapter.. dont even know where it is. That nail was designed for a flat coil.. that came straight out of Kens mouth at the Cannabis Cup in Denver this year. I have a 10mm coil from DNail that I use with my HDP and its AWESOME. I switched to the SIC dish and have been using the same coil with that.

There are cheaper places to buy coils. I got one from @VoltageKeeper that has been working great. Thats been a while and he may not be selling them anymore but if so, I recommend picking one up.

^^^ I'm also a devotee of the SiC dish.
Just received my Quartz Halo as well.

:D

Genesis is definitely designed for a flat (and the ~830* on the controller to get the dish to vaporization temp is with a flat coil).

@PoopMachine I almost purchased a Genesis as that design looks great, but ended up going with a SiC dish for it's material superiority.
I take it you prefer the SiC dish as well?
I could go for a Genesis with the Sublimation Head & Base in SiC, although I imagine it would not be easy to machine that complex a shape in SiC (not to mention the threads).

I kept mine at 725 or so and it worked great. You do need to bump it about 50 degrees if you put the quartz dish in tho. Its a FANTASTIC nail... Its my favorite.
