Well, this arrived quicker than I expected! It's absolutely perfect as well. No crookedness, no raised spots on the tip. It's nice having 18mm joint so I dont have to use reducer, its a bit longer and with bumps that make pulling it out easier, the airflow is a bit higher, and this shorty version is the perfect size for the loads I normally pack. Very glad I chose turbo and shorty!

Really nice, i have the right one (nice skullhead btw. :p).
A few hits more and you can collect your residue.

Days ago i have collect my first residue with the scraper tool from arizer and i have build little "wax balls" and put it on aluminum foil.
Then i have used my AVB to make me a sandwich in the stem (avb, collected residue, avb and a mesh on the top).

Cant say it often enough: Be carefull with the amount of residue you use, it could really fuck you up! :zombie: ( thanks @Quetzalcoatl for the warning btw;) )

Its like vaping very good hash or oil and get me a more indica like high but maybe thats because of the strain i vape atm. I think i have overloaded my stem a bit so i lay on the couch for about 2-3 hours, i did not even expected that strong effect:rofl:.

Maybe i try the iso-alcohol method someday to really collect all of my residue, but for now i will scrape my stems before i simmer them slightly in milk and after that i clean the rest with a bit alcohol, its really fertile!.

You guys got me thinking "reclaim", something I don't do.... always something new to try!!!

Give it a go! I soak the stems in ISO at the end of a weekend and evap it every other month or so. You are left with some pretty potent reclaim. Doesn't taste the best I find but wow does it give a stem a kick when sandwiched in a little herb.

You probably know it all but if you need any tips just ask. :)

I heartily recommend "stem milk" hot chocolate. Just make sure you have a day where you can be unaccountable to responsibility in case you make it too strong.

And also remember WHOLE milk, non and low fat don't work (it's the milk fat that carries the goodness). A shot of cream or 'half and half' can improve this.......real cream, of course, plastic 'creamer' is useless.

How long do you have to wait for the alcohol to be completly removed?

This is always a good method, i like to put the stems with my already vaped avb and with the always vaped residue in the cooking pot.
After that i use a coffee filter, sure it take a bit of time but you get a rid of the unwanted stuff (and yes, use whole fat milk as @OF mentoined, even butter with fat works for the extraction with of course simmer on low!).

broke my wrist while holding the Air, took a nasty spill and barley had a scratch on the battery covery lol, stem was completely shattered into a million pieces.... that being said dont longboard downhill after eating mushrooms while vaping, but if you do, have that silicone sleeve on, itl save your vape ;) These new planet vape stems are looking really good, the vortex one looks like it would get dirty quilcky, could anyone chime in on this? thanks!

Words to live by, for sure. From a guy who's 'been there'. This joint is a fount of useful knowledge, really, when you come down to it.

FWIW I didn't find the Vortex to foul faster or be harder to clean. My complaint with it is it's too long to fit the travel tubes which is where I clean my Solo/Air stems (in PBW)......so it's harder to clean the way I normally do it, but not much. If there's a shorter version, that should fix that minor point.

I just didn't find a big advantage to the Vortex (I'm a sipper, not a cloud chaser) and found the additional glass thickness called for more heat (because it's conduction.....if it were convection that wouldn't matter?). I also needed more time between hits to recover as well. I went back to stock stems. You should try it yourself and see 'how it fits your pistol'.

lol you crack me up. Hope you have a speedy recovery man. I remember those days. imo the vortex is super easy to clean , actually easier than stock but i find the stock stem works best out of every stem i have tried so far and i prob tried them all. I feel it gets just as dirty as the stock stem. I do like my Eds wood stem allot but stock always wins for me. To much airflow with the vortex , it does keep everything nice and cool but i find i get a nice thicker vapor hit form stock. Since you blow glass i am sure you have the tools , you can try cutting a few small slits with a diamond bit on the stock stem around the side. I have done that with my a few of my stock stems and it has improved a bit airflow wise.

Love eating my own mushrooms, vaping my own bud\oil, from glass ive made....its the little things in life i encourage everyone to try. Just not right before a hospital visit :ninja: Thanks man its been a while but im glad to be back on the forum to hear some good advice from some of my fav members :)

I was out of work for 8 weeks :ugh: Ti plate and 6 screws later and im all good(you bet im getting them removed so i can sign pieces with them haha), i was on the torch 3-4 weeks in, stuffing tools, reamers and rods in my splint trying anything i could just to melt glass, ended up collabing on a recycler that made it to HTCC Denver this year :brow:

Thanks for the response i might be trying to cut my stock stem here soon for better airflow here soon... i also noticed of the two stock stems, the one with the plastic mouthpiece was WAY BETTER, i feel like the vapor production was better, and the mouthpiece helped prevent burning my lips, also the mouthpiece is almost identical to my blowhose, i love it.

yeah man, i love the plastic stem too also good for stealth.
Glad to hear you´re ok, i dont even longboard but in my childhood i skate a bit with friends on a normal skateboard:).
It was also a bad idea for me to smoke a bubble while skating.... xD.
I cant even sit on a fluffy pillow for more than 4 weeks..

Does anyone else make the bubbler stem or just vaporfiend? I am in Canada, so it would cost too much to ship it over here.

Not directly (that I know of) but you can buy one of these for about 8 bucks Canadian shipped:
https://www.fasttech.com/p/2806300

Throw away the oil burner, stuff a half inch long piece of 3/8X1/2 tube in the bottom to make a gasket seal to your short air stem and you're good to go. Here's that bubbler on top of the fitting to fit FM Mini, same deal works great with the Air stem on Solo as well (although there a larger bubbler, like FBomb or PNWT makes mores sense I think?

Sweet , i was checking out your glass thread , you have made some really nice shit. Post a pic of that collab if you have a chance man. Mushrooms will do it man , i remember way back i broke my hip , tons of screws in there now and was in the hospital for almost a month. Well i'd say prob a few days after i got out some friends took me out to cheer me up. I was on crutches , took some shrooms and i tried to walk without the crutches lol it was not a great idea. I got many stories but i wont go on. Stock stem with black plastic tip is the 1 i always go back to. I have like 6 now , i took my dremmel and diamond bit and while running the stem under my faucet i just cut a few tiny slits up the side. Kinda like how planet vape does it. They work really well, I actually have 1 that i only put one slit into also on the side and when i want a bit more airflow during a session i will just turn it slightly so it mates with a hole in the heater and it works really well. Any hydrotubes in the works ?

Gotta find an EVO to buy first so i can play with some designs, i wana do some recyclers\incycler\klein ideas off my mind since back in the day. smaller more compact, more color, i think there is just much to improve on them and i understand production needs, but we have collectors everywhere and most people that own EVOs have much respect for heady glass and i know would dig having one. i have too many "hetti" friends i would be embarrassed bringing over a completely clear HT. Ive seen some with wigwags, but i want a full peach, or aqua azul one, ya feel me? ;)

As you can see, my wrist (not supposed to be out of my splint) is still swollen and stiff, palm skin still regrowing, custom color mix for the mouthpiece and marble were made by a local friend, i did the rest :)

It looks sick man. I am digging it love those colors also . The evo is on sale right now on there website by the way and i believe @stickstones here can give you a code for another 10% off. I actually just grabbed a cheap china hydro tube , wishing it had some color but it was a inexpensive option and the ones you get with the evo are clear also just 4x the price so i figured why not. Hoping it pairs up nice with my air. I'd say go aqua azul for the next piece , maybe throw some slyme in with it. Im a sucker for some slyme these days lol but what the fuck do i know. You should make a stem or two for your air , im sure you can come up with something nice. I actually had 1 made from Joda glass here on the forum, hits really nice , 0 airflow restriction and the way he blew it , it kinda wobbles a drop while its in but when i tilt it a bit while hitting it , it creates these huge warm air pockets if i tilt it just right and i get huge clouds .

How long do you have to wait for the alcohol to be completly removed?

I personally evaporate around 100ML, I have a small dished side plate I pour it onto. To happen naturally it takes a few days, however the last time I put the dish half on a shelf, and heated the bottom of the plate with a hair dryer, rotating it occasionally. Probably took less than 20 mins, do in a very well ventilated area, I did it on the shelf of a massive window with good airflow.

When I did it I wasn't in a rush to use the reclaim so even once the plate was dry I left it for a few days, nearly a week to make sure there was 100% no ISO.

When it came to scraping it off the plate I warmed it with a hair dryer again so it scraped off much easier with a razor blade. When you have got off what you can like that I got some cotton and after heating up the plate even more rubbed it all over to get the remainder. You can put that directly in a stem and man that kicks a punch.

Edit: 200th post and very close to my 10 month combustion free anniversary :D

How far out can you pull your stem (to vape) before it becomes problematic at producing vapor? I normally stuff it in as far as I can (with the glass stem it'll make me pucker), then pull it out just a tad with a twist, but fear sometimes I don't pull it out far enough or sometimes too far for optimal vapor production. Normally with the plastic tipped stem I can just push it in and it's normally good to go, might pull it out a wee bit

Does anyone else's stems wiggle in their air? It's tight as can be, but once it's in, I can kinda tap it side to side. Anyone?

I do the same, I push it all the way in then pull it out just a tiny bit, not all the times but sometimes. I feel like different stems sit with a slightly different seal. It also depends on the pack a little bit, if I have packed a little harder I guess I pull it out slightly more to compensate a bit. It is hard to describe how much I pull it out, I guess over 10 months of having the Air I have got used to a certain pull and just know how much to move the stem. :)

My Air has been used quite a bit and both the stock stems don't really wiggle. I have a solo stem and that feels like it does a bit more, however that might just be because its longer.

It's odd...both my stems have wiggled since I first got the vape I believe. But i can hold the air by the stems confidently without them slipping out.

Congrats! thats always good to hear, keep it on :)

hehe i do exactly the same but without the platic stem, because airflow is good enough without pulling it out a bit.
I dont know why it´s not the same on the other stems, i always have to pull my two pure-glas stems out a bit before i get good airflow.
