Cheap High Quality Bubbler

So is Yingman5 reputable? I've only ordered from sunshine before, and had a great experience. Right now I'm looking at picking up a GB-187 to smoke and vape out of.

It was a few months ago, but the piece I bought from Yingmin was packaged pretty nicely and IMO was better quality glass than the piece I bought from Kathy. YMMV but I was happy with it. Got a sidecar fritted disc from Yingmin for like $30-$35, I rarely used it, and it was blown to such quality that a friend of a friend was happy to buy it from me for $60 lol.

what exactly did you link me to? how does that work? do you just attach that to your glass?
I think he thought you were asking about the 710whip which is what is linked. It is an enail deceive for concentrates. You would still need a water piece to use it through.

I haven't used the FC-710 but a lot of people like it.

Im looking for a nice bubbler under $50. I just recently discovered dhgate because of this thread but there are so many options. I want to use it mostly for combusting flowers. I am replacing a broken weedstar double bubbler which I really liked. very smooth hits while combusting and pretty good for dabs as well.

So far I see everyone talking about sunshine store, mobius and FC. the FC stuff is mainly for vaping right?

I would like something with 18.8mm and nothing too small where it would lead to water getting in your mouth.

I could get another weedstar double bubbler 3.0 for about $45 shipped because of some grasscity gift cards, but are there better options on dhgate? Only Gripe i have with the weedstar is it has stable base and could be knocked over easily.

thanks in advance

@DrSteez

You mentioned that you didn't yet have the $ for an enail and weren't very excited about using a torch.
The "710 Whip" is an all included, economical analog enail setup.
I have not used it, but some threads here seem to indicate that it's a good bang for the buck.

How to:

Personally, I've found that's it's cheaper to buy what you want in the first place.
So if the 710 whip is not your end game for an enail, I would save up for what you really want.

But if you can find one for $100 on a BF sale that might not be too bad either ...

Just my 2 cents here about stevens fc mod mouthpiece...

I dont think its fair that people are mad that it doesnt work with the evo. I dont think steven understands that you guys want it for the evo , he probably doesnt even know that you guys DONT want to use it with the fc mod.

If it works for the intended purpose he made it for , thats how it should be rated .I dont think it should be judged on something he didnt design it for...

I could be wrong , but I see a review on his page saying the joint is to deep and needs to use an adapter.
based on the review , I am assuming that person wanted it for the evo .

I think whoever sent him the blueprints wasnt specific about the joint being flush or the fact that they wanted it to be used for an evo and not an add on to an existing piece....

If this is what you guys want make sure to let him know for version 2 and Im sure he will make it happen....

I
Two reports so far, the 18mm female is too deep for use with all vapes. See previous page. Hopefully it gets fixed up soon, I want one for my Evo (and others eventually)

From what I've read the piece functions decently well with an Evo. Wideness at the top of the joint is a total non-issue, and the seal is the real problem. The seal seems to be pretty good. But I'm in the same boat--looking for a cheap hydratube, but I'll wait until Steven's is fully good to go.

I don't think it has anything to do with fair, these are just general facts...

I want it for other vapes and potentially with an FC-Mod too, but I want it to work with Evo as well bc why shouldn't it?

Someone mentioned they were letting him know about the issue, so I'm sure it will be adjusted accordingly like some of his other creations. Sucks having to wait even longer, but sucks more having something that doesn't work with everything perfectly when its so close and costs $40

so should I wait? I recently dropped my old piece and now have a makeshift mod tornado coil to take dabs with until i get my small bubbler with nail from my buddy.

I was thinking of getting that fc-710, but if you think I should wait for a better product (hopefully soon) I'll do that. There's also this concentrates expo thing in LA december where maybe I can get deals on glass.

either way, let me know, buy or no buy?

:)

I heard back from cleanclearglass and sunshinestore- both were interested in the designs, so I've forwarded all information on the Rattle Can, Coil Can, and Cobra Can (formerly DP-UFO). I also asked them produce the FC-MOD, as @Ratchett suggested.

Even if work starts on one or more of these pieces today, I wouldn't expect anything to be available for at least a month, and probably longer.

After using my cheap DHgate bubbler some, I noticed white flecks just above the water line. Looks like the "ground" part of the female ground glass adapter is probably flaking off, as it feels smoother than my higher end glass and there's no other white on the pipe.

If it all flakes off, will the smoothed female adapter still make a decent connection with a ground male adapter? Anyone ever seen this in cheap China glass?

Thanks,

Well maybe we can re-order which gets done first? I am ready to drop coin on a cobra can. (So we are calling diffusion pumps cobras?)

The Cobra Can name comes from the appearance of the piece - the flat-coiled perc uptube is shaped roughly like a Cobra. This piece has a detachable mouthpiece, and was previously called the DP-UFO. That name was changed to avoid confusion.

The three pieces in the "Can" series are unique designs (not copies of designs already being sold) that have pump percs of one sort or another.

There has been one exciting development with things so far. Sunshine store has already produced a sample piece of the Rattle Can! They sent a video and photo. I don't know how to best post a video, so I'll share the photo for now. The base is not wide enough in this image, and I'm requesting that be changed. I'm also asking for the top of the can to be lower, or for the joint to be placed a little higher on the can. We may have a piece available sooner than expected!

This would be the first DP from Sunshinestore - can you confirm the ball actually rattles around? I'm so intersted in a new DP by someone other than Steven!

Thanks @Ratchett , that's a good catch! I just checked the water test video again and the ball wasn't moving, so I sent a message explaining and requesting the correction.

I'm excited for these, too! Things are moving very quickly now, so there should be good things coming soon!

I can wait to too see the cobra can! It seems like it should be an awesome piece.

I can buy this weedstar double bubbler for $42 shipped after using some store credit at Grasscity. I will mainly be using it for combusting flowers and once in a while vape How does this compare to any of the <$50 offerings at dhgate? are there better ones compared to the weedstar? Thank you

They've got some nice looking pieces for really low prices are they an importer of China glass or is their stuff from the US? Either way, considering getting something there just for the speed over DHgate.

EDIT: google is my friend. It looks like most of their less expensive glass comes from asia, but not necessarily china, either way it's import which is what I was expecting for the prices. Still considering, but might just go with China unless I see something really cheap that'll get here without too long a wait after I order it. Dying to try water with my underdog, but hesitating to pull the trigger on a purchase when the hits are already so good and I don't feel like spending loads more money changing the way I consume cannabis.

Hi Steven, I have the WS DB, and a DO-20-D, and although I find the WS to be slightly thicker glass, better made (not by much though!) and better for using 'in hand' while sitting back on the couch, I find myself using the DO-20-D more as it has a much bigger base, and I'm wary of knocking the WS over (very unstable) whenever I put it down.
The main chamber of the WS is easier to clean than the DO (WS haas a removable perc), but the fixed showerhead in the second chamber negates this advantage.

In terms of diffusion, I cant really tell much difference between the double shower perc's vs the single cage perc in the DO, so no clear winner there (OK maybe SLIGHTLY cooler/smoother results from the WS).

If I broke both today, I'd be ordering the FC MOD with one cage & one shower percs.

The WS is good glass (supposedly German Schott?) and you can tell by looking, but I haven't dropped either yet so durability is

Hope that helps?

After using my bubbler more and scrubbing the ground glass connection thoroughly, small white flecks were still popping up as I vaped. However, after rinsing the white gunk out then soaking the bubbler in a highly concentrated solution of Dawn dish soap and hot water, I was finally able to remove the white flecks permanently.

I think it was actually coming from the diffusion slits in the bubbler, maybe they were coated with something while they were cut or something.

Could be pumice powder, which is used on cork belts or pads for polishing glass surfaces which have been cut with diamond or carborundum (SiC) saws, grinders or drills (any rough or scratched glass surface).
It's also used when 'arrising' sharp glass edges back to a smooth finish which is safe to handle.

Whatever it is I'd strongly advise anyone noticing this to get rid of it before breathing through a device on which it was found.
It shouldn't be terribly difficult to remove as it's usually just mixed with water (in my experience at least), and will sometimes form a 'flaky' surface when allowed to lie on a surface and dry out.

Pumice powder which has been used in this manner will have powdered glass mixed in with it, definite health risk there from both dry substances when breathed in.

It seems unlikely that you've been hitting your glass dry, so water should have captured any airborne material, and of course it could be something else less harmful anyway.

Nevertheless, best to get rid IMHO.

Allow me to join the choir of people extremely disappointed with the HT by Steven. This is just... it's like the female joint was designed by someone who never made a female joint before. It's nearly straight. The bubbles/flaws are everywhere and horrible. Add together a joint that doesn't even fit the (very well made) stand with nonexistant quality control, and you get this.

Tiny bubbles... in the glass... make me unhappy. Leaves me aghast.
