All I can say is get your money while you can. All you need is one life-altering event to start thinking about what could have been. You didn't mention spouse/kids so that's a fair bit of money you're making which would be a true shame to lose out on. And not to be that nagging voice but have you considered getting your GED? You never know when you'll need it, better to have and not need etc. You've got a good situation going on right now and you're making a good decision as lame as it may be, just remember that.

I often wonder if right after that you take a drug test you would maybe have a few week leeway until you would have to worry about another one? I realize that cannabis can stay in your body a month or more.

Nick just trying to help you out. Try to make it more livable. Jobs are hard to come by, you are making a nice living you don't want to risk things.

What we do in our private life should be that. Many places require drug tests even if you have a desk job.

Thanks friend. I do have my GED because I needed it at my current company. And no kids or spouse, I do have a GF of three years and she's looking like she's the one. Before I start that endevor I need to finish purchasing my first house, then the wife nd kids part will happen. My financial situation is far more important and out weighs my need for MJ ten fold. There isn't much of a decision at all lol.

Hair follicle test go back as far as 5 years, I think. And this situation I believe they will be checking the previous 90 days. Urin tests are not an issue, that's my current situation. But yea like I said it's not a option, I need to stop if they start these type of tests. Thanks for the thoughts.

Nick,

You posting this thread and seeing others responses has me thinking if I have my priorities straight. MJ doesn't keep me from doing my job, but the stigma has kept me from many things. I can say that the legality of it is the problem I come across on the conscience side of things. Don't get me wrong FC, MJ has done wonderful things for many people but, I struggle with legality issues and the psychological side of it daily because of my surroundings.

Anyhow not trying to hijack the thread but just letting you know, that maybe I need to also reevaluate MJ and the path it will lead me down.

By all means post your feelings bud.

I've always told myself if I felt MJ was going to affect my life in a negative way I'd stop. This far I've had the upper hand. The risk has always been there for me working here but this new policy takes my comfort level way down.

MJ makes me perform my job better, espically dealing with the clowns I have to on a daily basis. The legality and what people think about me doing it, I could give two fucks lol. But mess with my livelyhood and my future, that's where I draw the line.

Idk your specifics but if it's something you gotta do, then u gotta do it.

But I don't want to turn this into 'I'm giving up MJ and you should too' thread lol. I love my MJ and it's going to suck if I have to stop. It won't be fun for me or the people who have to deal with me. I'm considered an asshole now, I don't even want to know what they will think of a sober me lol.

Thanks Nick,

Thanks for also sharing and i have already benefited from what has been discussed. Its not really putting my future at risk; but unfortunately for me, I'm one of those people who care about what others think, especially if they are close to me. Also, legailty dictates a lot of what meds I can get. So sometimes it may affect my work if all I can get is a heavy indica.

Anyhow, i like where this thread has gone

@NickDlow I hope all is well my man. I have been doing a little research on cbd oil and it got me curious if this was something u would try if quitting is still something on ur horizon. I kno u have that boss ass buckeye mod to toss some cbd into. Anyways I was just thinking maybe u have had some experience with it and was looking for a opinion on cbd.

Hair follicle test go back as far as 5 years, I think.
I've researched and average hair growth is 1/2 inch per month. In order to be clean, the hair must grow during a time when your body is not releasing metabolites.

So let's say your hair growth rate is average and that your body ridding itself of metabolites is average as well (30 days).

In 30 days, you'd start growing "clean hair". In 60 days, you could clip your hair down to 1/2 inch and at least scalp hair would be clean. Problem with that is most test facilities require 1.5" of hair to do the test.

This is where the math really starts to SUCK!

1 month to clean body out and start growing clean hair
3 months to grow 1.5" of clean hair for the test.

4 months minimum. (There are so many variables that impact this timeframe).

=======================
I've also read if you don't have enough hair on your scalp, they'll take from other places. Other places hair grows slower, so add to the 4 months and I have no idea of growth rates for anything other than the scalp.

Am I allowed to say Fuck Drug Testing in this thread?

EDIT: I just read body hair can take up to a year to replace itself. :disgust:

I was wondering when someone would mention the above.... @NickDlow, you mention dealing with this 'IF' they follow through and implement the new initiative....wouldn't that be too late considering the time it takes to clean up for a follicle test? They could implement and call on you before you have a chance to clean up. Is there anyway you could find out if this is insurance driven? Sometimes there are insurance compliance details that can help you prepare better.

Yes it would be too late. But if I test positive I go on probation for a long time, with probation there's multiple tests a month. The next positive test I lose my job. But as long as I stop and they see the amount in my system declining I'll be fine. I don't want to get into specifics with the company just in case.

Thanks for the info bro.

I also encourage you to say "Fuck Drug Testing" haha feel free to continue that into the fuck you thread lol.

Thanks bro! Sorry for being on the low lately, just trying to get my shit together. Ya know. That book was a hell of an idea and I'm sorry I didn't have more input but thanks for including me anyway. As far as the cbd oil, idk anything lol.

As far as how things are going, all is quiet on the front but who knows. The new policy is currently in effect but there has yet to be any tests that I've heard of, yet... Till then I'm doin what I'm doin. I've had a couple bumps in the road other than this drug testing shit the past few months, which is why I've been away but I'm on the incline now. With more time I'm hoping things will be back to normal, hopefully better. But thanks everyone for all the thoughts and info and love. You all have been helpful in some way or another. I'll be around here and there. Have a great holiday season if I don't talk to some of you. :peace:

I have similar issues. Depending on the particular job, some can require me to do a urine test on demand. It hasn't happened in 10 years tho. My industry has no tolerance. I carry Quick Fix (clean synthetic urine) by Spectrum Laboratories, with me everywhere I go. Just in case. Hair testing, as a rule is still too expensive for mainstream acceptance.

Quick fix is my shit! Haha. That's why I'm not worried about urine testing. As long as they stay away from hair I'll be good, which has been the case thus far.

My good friend is an EMT for a private ambulance subcontractor and has to get a hair test every year. She also enjoys MJ quite a bit. Now this applies to MA, but they are only allowed to test the hair 1/2" from the follicle no matter how long your hair is. She abstains from MJ for 3 months prior and has complete confidence. But her tests aren't random, she knows exactly when they happen.

You should be able to legally deny taking a drug test of any kind due to the fact that it is an invasion of ones privacy. What you do with your own time is of no concern.

Last time I checked, that is a provision of the constitution. Amiright? :p

I know, that argument is :horse:
