Just to clarify those pics in my previous post are three separate GH. The first pic is one, the second two pics are another, and the third are from GHL.

I pre ordered only in February but still having a hard time finding a reason
to not ask for a refund and check back in six or eight months maybe a year???
The reason should be that you already waited this long... what's another month or 2?

I had my mind made up to cancel my order today. Had mixed feelings about it, but was just tired of the delays. Sent the email, then Caroline used her Jedi mind tricks against me. As an early pre order (Dec '14) she stated they predict pre orders to begin shipping this Dec. Of course they do, right? So, just as mike said above me... What's a few more months of waiting to see how this year plays out. Ive been anxious for a new portable and now I'm asking myself... Did I make the right choice or did I forget my backbone today?

BEGIN in December? I thought yesterday's update indicated they still were predicting them to be done this month, not beginning next month.

For what it's worth, I got told in an email a few weeks ago that I should not expect my Hopper before late December/early January as a March 28th preorder

It happened! Near-end-of-Dec-3rd backer, just got my address confirmation. Still deciding about priority shipping, leaning towards.

For preorders: last week I think 5 days worth of backers got notice, and if that pace continues then backers are complete the first 2 weeks of December. I mean who knows?, but watch for the last backer date reported Tuesday evening, that seems to be the most consistent indicator.

Does anyone know when pre-orders first started? As a March 21 pre-order, I think I can start to get excited just a little bit?

The way they have been shipping units lately it certainly makes sense you get yours in Dec. So close to the end that I think refunding now would be unfortunate. Of course, this all depends on whether or not their reliability has increased.

I'm an early June preorder and Caroline just told me my order is to be shipped in January FWIW

Hmmmm, I pre-ordered late August, and my estimated ship date was originally October.
It was put back to November, but hasn't been delayed any further.

I've had no e-mails warning that they won't be likely to meet this date, so it surprises me that folk so far ahead of me in the queue have been warned that they'll have an even longer wait.

Going by the content of this thread it seems unrealistic to expect mine to ship in the next couple of weeks?

On the other hand the HL updates seen since my ship date was initially set back strongly suggest that production has increased enough to meet my Nov' ship date.

There seems to be a MAJOR disconnect between estimates appearing on this thread, and what HL estimates.
(I just looked at this thread for the 1st time fairly recently)

I think I'll email them to enquire further.

I had reached out to her first via email. They're not sending out any emails warning anyone of this. She also mentioned once their website is updated (lolz) they will have all new shipping estimates. At least December backers are getting their units, they definitely picked up production/shipping speed regardless.

Mine arrived quickly and in perfect condition, albeit missing one extra battery but I'm sure they'll take care of it. I feel like I've graduated from this thread now lol, but I'll stay subscribed for a while longer ;)

Stick around. This thread also covers shipping on warranty returns. Not that anyone here has had to deal with that. :p ;)

@grokit My friend recently placed his pre-order and added 3 or 4 extra batteries, and he got a notice saying that the batteries were out of stock. Maybe that is the case?
It's a bit confusing, because my shipping email says
"Shipped Items:
Color Grasshopper Color: Green
Extra Battery
Extra Battery"
But my order status on their website says "Partially Shipped".

I'm currently communicating with caroline, who needs to make sure that I didn't miss a battery rattling around in the shipping box, or inserted into the leather sleeve (I checked both of those things when I first opened the package). We're on our third email exchange regarding this, I hope we're done now

I gotta add that I love this thing, I have some great plug-in vapes and I can't stop using this at home!

At least Caroline is responding to you. I've still had no response to my past Friday email reporting my newly replaced Hopper had died after one use. I may have more to say later today about that.

Have you tried this new RMA form on the website mentioned in the latest update? I haven't checked the site recently.... I'd at least forward the original email to Caroline again and ask if she saw your last email, maybe it got lost in the junk mail. Have you tried sending to the general mailbox instead of Caroline directly?

The form is not up on their website yet, I had the same thought.

I finally heard back from her.. She suggested the delay in response is due to the increase in production there. I guess customer service is a part time gig there.

It's frustrating and infuriating to watch - such great technology, but making all of the classic mistakes of a startup. They are fumbling pretty badly holding the tiger by the tail. I sure hope they manage to get through. I'd like to see them NE around, not be another "could have been".

Someone on Reddit seemed to figure this out, somewhere in Paypal terms and condition it states something to the effect of only being able to accept pre-order payments via Paypal when the product is being delivered in the next 60 days. It seems to be the most simple explanation as to why GHL's keeps saying every month that the mass shipping is just a month or two away. I will go with Occam's Razor on this one, "the simplest explanation is usually the correct one"

Wouldn't a simpler explanation be that they just keep underestimating it?

Go back and read June 2014's update, if you think they just kept going, "whoops we underestimated" for 15 months, that is magical thinking at its best - but hey, good for you for being a glass half full kinda person. I am a bit of a pessimist.

I'm sure in hindsight they feel a bit foolish. The thing is if you have never done something before it is impossible to make an estimate of how long something will take. For that matter even if you know what you are doing I find my estimates are often at least 2x off. It's the unknown unknowns that get you.

No joke, one of the most important things I learned in the world of business, under promise and over deliver.

But again, I find it a little too much of a coincidence that they just happen to keep promising pre-order delivery in the next 30-60 days for the past 420+ days, and the policy of them staying funded coincides with this.
