If it's the Pinnacle Pro Hydro Tube it takes the 14mm gong. Your stock stem with the plastic tip can be used as a 14mm gong. Planetvape also sell gongs for the Air and Solo.

The F bomb, it's similar comes in 2 sizes 14mm and 18mm from planetvape

Great work man :)

How about an extra section, accessory's? Or was your aim to keep more focused on the air its self?

I'm thinking details about cases, USB charger cables, battery chargers and after-market stems could all be in there?

Arizer offers the only 'stand alone' car charger known. PIU and PV being recommended sources. Otherwise please at least check the posts on this page (that's a hint, I just answered it a few posts above, 12 hours ago......). If you can't figure it out, PM me?

Used the Air and new bubbler with some friends over the weekend, and they were all very much impressed!

My one somewhat recently made friend is a heavy smoker and I was wondering what sort of opinion he would have on vaping, whether the effects would be as strong as what he gets from the big blunts he normally smokes. Having been mostly vapor-only for the past half a decade or more, I sometimes forget how the two compare, and I know some people just need to have that extra, sedating sensation from the combustion. So, deciding to err on the side of caution, I decided that we would vape 3 stems back to back, starting on red each time and taking 3 hits each before loading the next stem.

He started feeling it pretty good by the time we started on the second stem, and by the time we started on the third, he was starting to express doubt in his ability to drive home. So a couch was offered. He was pretty amazed by just how much different/better the herb tastes, and that the amount we vaped was still less than what he usually rolls.

I think this is how I will often use the Air with the bubbler, on max temp only. I load stem and stick it on bubbler, heat the vape up separate and stick it on the stem when I'm ready to hit it. On the first hit or two, I dont push the stem in quite all the way, and take faster hits, pulling it off in between to reduce conduction and preserve flavor as long as possible. Towards the end, I fully insert stem into vape, reduce hitspeed, and leave vape on between hits to get every bit I can out of it with the help of conduction. I've also like to load two half stems back to back instead of one almost full stems, to get that fresh green taste twice. I just find that this results in a more enjoyable experience than the way i was doing it (loading full stem, leaving vape on it the whole time and temp ramping from white or green up).

I have been using my Air in a very similar fashion. It is harder with an F-bomb that has to remain upright at all times, but it can be done.

Decided to try your prep method of drying the herb first. I don't have a lamp, BUT, I do have an E-Nano. I held my nug just above the heater, cupped my hands, and blew on it to push the hot air towards myself. Did this for a few minutes and had a nice crispy nug. Ground that up three times in my grinder, and packed a tipped stem w/ a domed screen. Normally when I use "dry" herbs, it's naturally dry and just not the best bud. I decided to use my nice headband for this one, dried, and it worked perfectly. Pre-Dried packed stem doesn't seem to last AS long, but you can tell there is more goodies in your hits. Same vapor production it seems, as vaping the moisture on the bud without drying will also produce visible vapor (just regular water vapor), but just more potent hits with the dried bud.

Quick summary of differences compared to my regular pack:
  • Drier herbs
  • Finer Grind (due to drier herbs)
  • Finer grind makes herb fill in the cracks of the domed screen better
  • Drier herbs produce visible vapor faster and more reliantly
  • Stem goes a little bit faster as a result of less moisture
  • Better overall extraction (although the air seems to get everything out of your herb either way)
  • Edit: Refer to post below for added differences!

Great post, useful experiment. Good on ya as they say down under........

One IMO important point left off your list is 'Greatly lessens/eliminates fouling'. I'm convinced condensed water vapor is the kiss of death here. If you're really good about being dry your MFLB doesn't foul. Otherwise, the area under the screen which can't be reached klags up at an alarming rate.

Also not listed is the lesser advantage that battery charges last longer. You can vape more good stuff out if you're not wasting time and energy vaping water as well.

All in all, good stuff to try out and hopefully incorporate in your technique.

Thanks for the excellent post.

Ah..by Foul you mean Rez up basically...clog, dirty, claim etc. Took me a sec to understand that. Great point, not something I would have considered, although that's barely of importance to me as the Air isn't my Go-To daily (E-Nano too strongggg), and so mine stay relatively clean pretty often. This is an excellent point for people using this multiple times a day, if not all day! (I'm sure I'll notice it myself over time)

And the point of battery life is another excellent point! This is a huge plus as I can get 4-5 bowls out of a battery instead of 3-4. My sesh lasted about 7 minutes instead of about 10-13 (I still had room to pack a tiny bit more though). While I love this advantage of the pre-dried herb...one of my favorite reasons to use the Air is the fact it reminds me so much of a long joint/blunt sesh, and so sometimes those long moisture seshes can be very enjoyable for me. I love taking it out to a bench and not having to switch stems after 7 minutes, as 15 minute seshes seem more enjoyable (sometimes).

As we all know, it all comes down to personal preference. I think I'm going to keep bud in my grinder that's all pre-dried for when I want to use this thing to it's full potential.

I've only tried this once, I'm sure I'll be back to post more, as it's almost impossible not to discuss my vaping experiences.

I seem to be having some trouble with my batteries, or rather the charger I got for the spare batteries. It had been working great and charging them up right. Now it will have the green light light as its fully charged but when I put it in the Air and turn it on it will be Orange. If the battery is in the Air they seem to charge up fine. Any ideas on what may be going on here.

Is there a switch on the side of the charger? My 2 cell battery charger has a switch on the side that changes it between 3.2v and 3.6v (which turns out to charging the batteries to 3.7v and 4.2v respectively). I had accidentally flipped it to the 3.2 setting and it would only charge up to 3.7 volts instead of the usual 4.2. Had some fun figuring out why my ecig kept dying faster than normal ;)

My take is a little different on the drying thing, but we all have our likes and what not, right? Makes the world go 'round.

I'm lucky; I currently have access to good bud. And taste is a big part of the joy of vaping for me. The AA is strong in this category, from my limited vape experience. If I were to dry to the point of little or no moisture, I'd be saying bye to some terps. I choose to keep them sitting pretty as can be and enjoy as many of them as possible as they're vapor going up that glass stem.

So just a little voice out there letting folks know that they don't have to be overly concerned with dryness. I'm sure it has its pros (and obviously you can't vape soggy weed), but my AA has handled some pretty sweet and sticky buds and shake without pre-drying. And its handled them quite well.

I too find the Air under powered. Let me clarify, the battery + heater combo do the job well but heat up time is slow by today's standards.
I made a serious omission here. I forgot to mention the positive to the heat up time. The Air, and Solo for that matter, maintain the selected temperature accurately. It is very precise. And I would say this attests to the quality of materials used and software programming.
You get stable temperatures and amazing flavor with the Air and Solo.
(My Solo works and tastes as good today as it did three years ago!)
This is a vape to be savored.

Thanks as I was about to post-- what about folks that don't want to go thru the extra drying, shred, re-dry, re-shred routine as posted by bravesst. That's a deal breaker for me.
My bud is top shelf, long cure with Boveda 62 packs, and I've never needed extra drying with my current vapes. It is certainly not wet.

Considering AA, would it handle this scissor cut into very tiny nugs like 1/2 the size of a small raisin? Vaped at low temps and THEN stirred/ made into really fine pieces for higher temps?
Thanks

I've also had some pretty sticky bud and never felt a need to dry out my material. Dry cannabis has a harsh taste. I like to taste the true flavor of my flowers. My Blackberry Kush taste wonderful the way it is all sticky in my AA. It really does taste like blackberry.

Hello everyone, I just purchased the arizer air on sale for $130 on hebestars.com. Upon getting it, everything was authentic, as i was hesitant to purchase from a different website other than arizer.

In the past I had owned around 2-3 solos, all of which put out great vapor and was probably the best vaporizer I owned, proving to be very reliable and solid.

I sold my solo to a friend a few months back before going back to college, now in recent weeks debating to buy a new one, I settled on the new air since I seen promising reviews that it would hold up to the "solo standard".

Enough backstory, lets get to the point. After receiving my air, I immediately ran it through a couple heat cycles, just as arizer suggests in the manual. Once done, i charged it to max battery (which took around 3 hours from almost empty). I loaded up the herb, turned the heat setting to green, and waited for it to heat. After heating it was getting warm, but as i was drawing on it (not hard) i had yet to feel real vapor come out, and instead was just puffing on warm air. I decided then to turn it up to red and see if there was a chance that it would start vaping. Nothing. At this point i was getting fairly frustrated, since I have never had an issue like this before with any of my other arizer vaporizers. I didnt give up at this point yet, I even loaded a fresh bowl, filling it fairly well to the brim of the stem. Let the air run on red for atleast 2 minutes before trying again. Nothing. Maybe a microscopic amount of vapor came out when i would puff and release on it, but nothing when i gave slow draws. Just hot air and no vapor.

I had gone out to my car for this and realized that it came with a silicone sleeve, which was said to help maintain the heat in the air, which makes sense. I didnt have it with me at the time, so i also tried covering the plastic grill with my hand to try and give the same effect. Nothing once more. Right now I am charging it again to full battery and will add the sleeve and try again later tonight. I wanted to post it now anyway and see if there was an issue that the air might have been having. Didn't have much luck looking online for solutions since it still is a fairly new vaporizer to the market. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thank you.

You may have a bad unit? I have no issue getting visible vapor. I even get light vapor on blue. I usually run my at green and I get satisfying clouds. I don't really have any remedies except to trade it in for a different unit. Good luck!
