Can any of you beta testers compare this to the Peace? The obvious differences are the heat exchanger, "click", and lack of wood, but it seems like it'd perform in similar fashion

The VC is much easier to load, uses conduction, convection, and radiant vs. pure conduction on the peace. The VC works better with smaller loads, heats a lot quicker, is easier to use, loads and unloads quicker.

The Peace has a more wide open air path. This is the only advantage i can think of right away.

To be honest i have not used my Peace once since i got my VapCap. If i want pure conduction i reach for my VapMan instead.

Edit. Peace also provides bigger hits, especially considering you can pack 4 or 5 times more in the Peace than the VapCap.

But the ease of use of the VapCap overrides the bigger hit advantage? The hit size is my only concern with the VapCap, but the ease of just loading and hitting it again may make that concern moot.

I am usually a big hit guy. But you simply aren't getting those monster exhales with the VapCap that you could get with other torch vapes like Lily, Lotus, or even VapMan or Peace on a lesser level.

I usually think of bigger hits as an advantage. But with the VC i just know it works. Well. With some practice and ground material you can get good puffs with the VapCap, but just not as big as the others i listed. Again, much smaller bowl. But the damn thing works and works well. It gets me medicated off such a tiny amount, and is much less harsh than any of the above named Vapes IMO. I hold in hits longer, get less exhale, and simply get ripped off less. The VC doesn't need huge exhales to be a very effective tool. It's like... more surgical or something.

If i am reaching for a big hitter i don't reach for VapCap. But even for someone like me, who has a huge tolerance, it just works well with less. Hits are less harsh, and held in my lungs longer. I do usually pack bowls two or more at a time in the VC unless i am looking for a "maintenance bowl" to keep me where i want to be. But this would be true with any vape i have.

Edit. And for those who like to jump different vaporizers with diffrent vapor profiles like myself - the VC provides a unique experience and strong vapor profile. Also nice to mix in a quick VC bowl after using a desktop like the Evo or Herbalizer to put me over the top adding a.bit of conduction to my convection party.

Double edit. For me the VapMan and especially the Peace are very very harsh and dry after the first puff or two. I do not find this to be the case with the VapCap

I am not a cloud chaser, and the effect is really all I care about. My intention for the VapCap is for it to be my "outta the house" vape, replacing my FM5.0, and it won't need to compete with my Zion or my other home vapes. I have been living with the smaller hits of the FM, so I expect the VapCap to be better than that but it doesn't need to be TOD or anything... ;)

I was late to this party and didn't get to order until after the cart problems, so while I hope to see it before the new year, I won't be disappointed if I don't. The thought that it is on the horizon is reassuring, however... ;)

I will be adding the Yet nameless dugouts to the website very soon.
With the integrated magnet and such these will be $40,

BUT
to give thanks to everyone here on the forum, you can prebuy them for $30 with no additional shipping if you already purchased a Woody. To do this before they are on the site, use the contribute to the cause option.

These look awesome.

Will it be possible to get one without dynavap engraved on it? I would prefer a plain one, or with just the logo leaf shape thing on it for both stealth and aesthetics.

Cheers

If the cap could be black, then the blackwood would look quite a bit more stealthy.....but is it possible?

If the cap is stainless steel, then it's rather complicated to make it a nice and lasting black, unless other components are introduced (ex: coating) but I'm afraid this would be problematic when directly exposed to a flame. See this link for instance if you are curious: http://www.finishing.com/245/20.shtml

But a materials expert or @VapCap could prove me wrong?

If anodizing stainless steel isn't cost effective or "good enough", the caps could probably be powder coated with high temp powder. Colors are practically endless too. Just a thought...

Does the vapcap need a fixed screen to function properly ?

I was thinking a basket screen would increase load size and could let you stir it.

The inner glass piece would not allow you to make the bowl any deeper. It sits pretty close to the screen. I have thought about using a normal screen though. Maybe I should try it? Why not? For the sake of science! I have a feeling it will create a hot spot. The intake on the inner piece is quite small and I think the stock screen counteracts this with small holes spaced apart. Just a theory though.

Hey guys I just preordered the ti woody and I was wondering did anybody get a confirmation email when they ordered? It's a little soon but knowing my luck something might have sent wrong lol.

smokeydabear,
So I'd like to point out something I learned last night; my propane torch is a tad too hot for the VC. I couldn't rotate the cap fast enough, it would reach temp too quickly. Once up to temp, even after the cycle was complete, it would heat to temp immediately upon touching the flame to the cap, so my load would heat unevenly. I got a few decent hits from it that were pretty strong (the first hit already had loads of visible vapor, like I was already on my 3rd butane heating cycle), and didn't combust. It was definitely like turning things to 11. If I'd puffed it more while it was hot (I normally use butane and get my best hit for the first half of the heat cycle and nothing visible after that. I noticed later that with the propane, the visible vapor continued through the whole session) and let it cool more between hits, it would just be a super powered VC experience.

So I tried using a conventional screen and I can report that it makes no difference in the function as far as I can tell. The only thing I thought it may improve was draw resistance but the airflow restriction is caused by the cap. I would suggest staying with the stock screen. You can gain no extra bowl space either. @Stu was right!

Good News!

Please check you email if you ordered a Ti Woody. I just sent out a request to specify your wood type and I want to make sure everyone gets it back to me so I can make sure I have the correct wood ready to ship as soon as the other parts are. I sure like the look and feel of the Ti Woodies.
They wouldn't exist if it wasn't for this forum, so thank you!

The first choices for Ti Woodies will be:

Black Wood, and

Last chance to add a dugout or dynastash to a woody order for $30 is next Friday.

Big thank you to everyone who has supported me on this project!

I'm getting a woody! Boy that sounds kinda errrrr...

Got my email, now to torture myself over which to choose. Leaning towards Cocobolo just because I like to say the word "cocobolo".

Thanks George, really looking forward to trying this out.

I'm so tempted to get a woody- they are beautiful. But, so far, I'm not fond of the vapes I've bought that require a lighter. Does anyone know if the woody version will be sent out before the original one?

Only on opposite day :-)
@VapCap said he will be shipping first come first, woody was created later on as he said ^^ and if I remember correctly they will be sent with the big production batch of caps (maybe beginning of december?).
Btw is there some news regarding glass original vapcap? When firsts regular orders (until 9th of august) will be shipped?

@VapCap, there may be a problem with the ordering part of your website.

I just attempted to order a ti woody and couple of vapcaps but it kept on insisting that i needed to complete the mandatory fields, all of which i had completed.

Any ideas? Anyone else having similar problems?

I can't believe how many obstacles seem to be thrown in the way of the vapcap and dynovap. Makes me wanna go and fashion a tinfoil hat and start talking in hushed tones.

I just ordered a standard version before visiting this thread. Will it fit into the dugout too? I would have likely ordered a woody if I knew such a thing would become available. Doh!
