It seems like a mistake to have sold lower-quality Hydratubes without disclosing that information in advance. I don't know how I'd explain that if I were the rep fielding questions about it. I hope you're relatively satisfied soon, Snacks. What a bummer.

In case it is helpful to anyone, the Grav Hydratubes are on sale at The Dab Lab. The regular price is the same $150 but they've got a sitewide 25% off sale for Thanksgiving going.

I get their shipping cost excuse, but kinda ridiculous no?

Disappointing...yes. Ridiculous...no. They are making very little on them at this price and multiple shipping of items adds up, trust me. Throw in an extra tube that they can't sell if it was used and they are already in the hole with you. Then you want to try out different HT's at their expense to see which one you like (not going to happen with any vape company, btw), while trying to get a free mouthpiece out of them. They're not a big company...a few people at most, started by one of us.

I honestly can't tell from your pics what is wrong with the HT, but I do think you should get a good, functioning HT for your purchase. A perfect, flawless piece of hand made glass...maybe not, as I've rarely seen one of those. I've got plenty of imperfect vapes and accessories, but they all function well and deliver the goods. I don't know what to make of the report of 'bottom of the barrel' tubes. Clearly they are the last of the stock for this item, but I doubt they have been hand selecting the nicest ones for the last two years, leaving only the bad ones; they just don't have time for that, imo. But this is just complete speculation by me at this point.

I offer this post in the hope that you can see the other side of the coin and not let the disappointment ruin your day.

Perhaps we misunderstood the "bottom of the barrel" response that was given because this is a good point and there's just no upside to intentionally trying to sell stuff that people will complain about. Maybe this was meant solely to communicate that there weren't many left instead of also being a comment on the quality (even if that has been an incidental side-effect of the dwindling inventory).

Oh totally sticks, maybe my verbiage was a bit harsh. The service has truly been great so far i really have no qualms about how I have been treated frankly.

I am in fact thrilled and impressed they could locate and re send my original tube, which indeed did work well (better than this one, if only I could've kept it to compare, shipping could've been saved). It's apparent and confirmed flaws were just disappointing to me since I am not used to spending this much on glass in general, and I bring up the whole limited quantity thing bc they did, well after the fact, but @KimDracula is likely right, it is a defense essentially and I fully understand it.

Really the HydraCirc test only occured to me bc Jeff offered it as a potential solution since HydraTrees were sold out. I mentioned maybe relocating the other tube and he quickly had it sent out before we could discuss further. I think I might like the imperfect HydraTree more than the Circ anyway, of course I'll never know for sure. I didn't really expect to be able to "try it out" but figured I'd at least ask bc of the above.

It really comes down to what was a very expensive purchase to me, took a while before I bit the bullet, and dealt with defects for my trouble. If I had decided earlier I may have been more satisfied overall oddly enough. I do think asking for a dry mouthpiece as a compensatory back up isn't outrageous, given their price and stock, but again understand it is a long shot. I do appreciate their efforts with me greatly, certainly do have that small company feel combined with the mass production and systems of a huge corporation.

Thank you for providing the counter point, it is impperative for any prospective customers to understand that this is an upstanding company and a more than wonderful vaporizer for sure.

Whoa there guys..Jeff has been awesome..he told me word for word that it was their end of the line and all they were off were bottom of the barrel so it would be slim Pickens..I told him mine is working but it does have crack and he has tried anything within reason to make it right..I told him I love the Evo and don't want grab lab ht and he then offered the evolver circ..so imo they have went overboard with trying to help and fix the situation..

Has anyone tried the grav lab hydratubes?
I have tried both and I still currently have the Circ. The Tree was a little too restrictive for me. The Grav Circ is in my top ten favorite pieces in my collection.
As far as flawless glass........
Maybe in a $1500 or more piece, but I've seen flaws in $1000 pieces of glass ESPECIALLY handmade. I've stated before my only major gripe in glass is function. I can go through my many shelves of glass and find a flaw in any piece because I'm meticulously anal. The first Tree @Shit Snacks had was very exceptional to me but it wasn't mine to say!
I also agree with @stickstones on every single solitary word he said! @VapeXhale and @stonemonkey55 are Truly a game changing force in Vaporizers and business and have set a new standard.
Edit: Circ percs kick ass with smooth flavorful punches of THC

Yeah man, 1000% agree, I kind of dont want to post what he just agreed to because it is so above and beyond. Rest assured I am now more than satisfied, refreshing in this industry!

@Cannabis Connoisseur truth I may have been too picky with the first tube, looming forward to having it again bc it definitely functioned extremely well. The tree is actually very versatile depending how much water you put in (near zero restriction, so more water adds resistance and extra diffusion) and if you draw fast or slow, not sure if the circs offer the same freedoms, but still great flavor and diffusion?

I decided if/when I try a circ one day it'll likely be a regular drop down showerhead style in a bubbler, seems to be more standard, or maybe I'll have another hydratube some day too... Damn if the Devastator ever becomes available again at a good price that may be perfect for me now that I've seen it in my research (and yikes $1000 for glass is completely unfathomable to me lol madness!)

@subway13029 really curious to hear your thoughts on the HydraCirc having tried the HydraTree first. I really like the tube style on these and the Evolver glass is super thick

I may have been too picky with the first tube

To each their own, but I disagree; I'm also not used to spending that much on glass, and while I don't truly expect any piece to be "flawless" (my Hydrafoot is slightly crooked...;)), I do expect that the Tree on my $300 American blown fancy schmancy glass, that the trees at least sit level in the water, seeing as how I can get a tree at my local headshop that is relatively "flawless" in that regard. Plus, I'd think function or at least versatility would be affected if the tree branches were not all on the same level. Don't think that's unreasonable to expect and I don't think they should sell them if they're not to a certain standard; for me that standard would be the tree branches all being ||||| not |ll|l|. If the Chinaman can do it for $40, and the local headshop can do it for $80-100, I'd think something touted as the connoisseurs choice while paying higher prices should look the part; as said earlier I'd be miffed if my options were two flawed pieces.

That all said, doesn't seem to be the case and glad they fixed you up proper with hopefully a great looking and working tube like the rest of us  Patience is a virtue @Shit Snacks !

Haha indeed.

Without giving too much away, I will still have my original HydraTree actually (arrives tomorrow), flaws and all, but its arms were all fairly even (save for one, very slightly), it just had those hairline cracks/welds/whathaveyous where the arms meet the dome, and in between a couple arms. It definitely worked well, better than this other one with the crooked perc, uneven arms/slits, and narrower mouthpiece.

Rest assured the resolution is still awful generous imo despite these flaws ;)

I officially ordered mine! Really thank you all for being so helpful. The amount of quick, pointed, not-being-mean-to-the-newb help was the best in this thread I've ever experienced on an internet forum. I have the original general newbie question, answered right away. That answer leads to a more specific question, answered right away, specifically. That leads to a third, answered again, specifically, allowing me to go from knowing nothing about it to having all my questions answered very quickly so I could buy it. Usually narrowing down like that on internet forums takes weeks at least and since I don't like to buy things until I know it meets all the specifications, and generally the info isn't already available online, it can be very frustrating. You guys made this process so much easier. Thank you to everyone who responded!

By the way, do any of you use the Santa Cruz Shredder? That got the most recommendations in my grinder thread but not all of them may use the Evo specifically. What's best for the Evo?

Glad to hear you took the plunge!

The Santa Cruz Shredder is generally regarded as one of the best grinders out there. It really does shred your herb as opposed to grinding it. It leaves you with a very fluffy grind that works fantastic with the EVO, and every other vape I own.

I prefer the large 4 piece personally.

And yes, the wealth of knowledge here on FC is astounding! I'd be lost without it :)

So Jeff wrote me back they're in the process of locating the HydraTree I sent back before, to get it sent back to me. Then when it arrives I could send back this slightly worse one.

Still curious about the HydraCirc though, so asked if its possible to try it too. Also bc then I'm still stuck with an imperfect HydraTree and no compensation really...
I would get the circ instead if they can guarantee it will be flawless, without regard to function.
But that's just me :uhh:

I don't think there was ever truly a full guarantee with these? Unfortunately that offer was kind of taken off the table bc Jeff already had had my original HydraTree located and in the process of shipping back to me...

Hell made it easier by not having to decide, I tell ya if both had been available when I ordered I may never have been able choose! Ive thought about it a lot even after losing the option, I think i really like the tree but damn without trying the Circ to know for sure...:bang::shrug::doh: :p
Don't know how you guys have put up with all the variety over the years! ;)

So another type of glass collection begins, we need reliable Chinese hydratubes lol Actually I have yet to get Evo to work well upside down through my GB-187 yet... Unfortunately doesn't fit in the right angle joint of my inline honeycomb bubbler either, love that thing.

Anyway, anybody try a 7th Floor vapor tamer like the Saturn with the Evo? I have credit at VaporNation that I've been meaning to put towards something worthy, and it would make it cost only around $55 in the end...

That might be the case but probably only for a few weeks @mixchu69 I find the nano & evo compliment each other nicely.
I'm a huge evo fan but I'd still love to try a minivap, it's not gonna happen just yet they're almost $900 here.

Until Zion comes around for me again (and dare I say GH?!), whole reason I got a Cloud bc nothing else has been quite as good to me now. Evo is pretty much all I've been using, save for Lily and my buddy's Daisy plus Elevape when needed out and about. Evo is helping me keep it indoors more for now though, such a smooth and simple, quickly satisfying ritual... But damn those are some tip top of the line vapes @mixchu69, you probably need an Evo to compare at least ;)

So after extensive testing with concentrates I have decided that the Quartz nails are superior over the glass nails. I think because the Quartz sits lower in the bamboo that it gets slightly hotter and gives a better hit. I also notice I get less black build up with the Quartz. I can not believe the hits I get from little tiny dabs! It is like 1/2 or less than what I would use with a torch and nail! Super conservative with the concentrates!!

Speaking of conservative I have been out of herb the last couple days and was tired of wax so I looked in my grinder. I had enough herb to load a UD stainless stem (basically flakes, almost nothing) I dumped it into an elb and got 1 really big hit and 1 whispy hit!!!

I can second this, seems much more efficient to me. The more restrictive pull dude to a more snugg fit, and the lower sitting bottom seem to make a big difference.

Also noticing less build up on the upper parts of the nail. I also feel more comfortable just torching the shit outa Quartz to clean than I do glass, interested to hear others thoughts? Glass nails take forever to scrape/soak clean, scared the torch will crack em

You have no idea how pleased I am to see them at that price now.. What was it before again? And what were the Quartz? Curious to see if the Quartz drop as well when they are back in stock! Still I'm gravitating towards the quartz if they can keep the price reasonable. Also when vaping with the Quartz, do you use a different temp than glass or does that pretty much stay the same? Thanks!

I find the same temperature works fine but can seem to go hotter with the Quartz and still retain flavour?

Not sure why this might be, but I don't go above 2 with my glass, Quartz I can bump upto max with minimal coughing :2c:

Namaste :peace:

I always felt I was missing something without the evo. But with the influx of new vaporizers hitting the market, everyoneclaims They got the best. However, one thing I learned in my short vaping experience is stick with the proven vaporizers that have been around for awhile. New technology has its positives, but are riddled with problems too.

I fear that if I purchase the evo, that is all I am going to use. My herbie, lsv, minivap and e-nano will get no love. Anybody experience this?
I literally just got the Crafty yesterday in hopes I will use more than my Evo.

Precisely, Evo is pretty damn good reliable desktop to always have ready in the stable for sure, though you do seem to have that already, that shouldn't really stop you? lol
