Vapman

Okay. Might go with the initial gut instinct and keep the video up. In other news took it over to a mates yesterday, he smokes weed/baccy bong. 18inch beaker but it's lime green so seeing vapor fill is too hard. Although instead of puting the VM aside because it wouldn't work with the bong... He ripped one or two bongs and for the most part hit the VM dry!
Can't afford a VM but I found a VG coil for $50 aud so I'll play with that and send it on to him when I'm done.
I think he really is over smoking ciggies with his weed, and smoking green weed is too hard. Vaping seems like the easiest method to quit this habbit.

Can only really measure down to .1 so here is .1 split into 1/4's by eye and loaded in. Load was pretty well spent after the hit. So I estimate around .025. Turning into a decent little 1 hitter quitter. Also, looks cloudier because it wasn't really inhaled fully and held. I had nothing left in me, cleared it with like 2% lung capacity left :/ never been a huge bong hitter. Anyways I figure it's more to show how much you can pull out of it.

Awesome post.

I would love to see the bottom of the 1st prototype. Does it have the same crucible and air tubes?

@Mojo Here it is. Yes, all the technology is there already, the mica lining, the crucible and the air tubes.
The tubes are still on the inside of the handle ring, all you can see is the small hole where the air gets in. This very small vaporizer works very well but it was very difficult to mount the tubes on the inside of the wood, this is why I came up with the idea of fixing the tubes on the surface with tiny brackets.

René, this is very cool.

I really like the idea of the air tunes coming through the wood body.

Very interesting.

Thanks for the pic!

Been playing fallout 4 and it got me thinking, if the world ends I hope there is some butane laying around because the Swiss miss is my teotwawki vape. @Shit Snacks id love to know your teotwawki vape, and if you think pam could fuck combustion what would she go with!? Haha.
Anyone consider the vapman a bit of a bug out must!?

Haha I had to look up that, did not know it as an acronym even though the context clued me in on the meaning I had to be sure lol

As of now mine would have to be a Triihouse, Lily or even better a Daisy.

However VapCap seems like a good choice as well, can even heat it up other ways without butane so may be ideal actually...

Haven't gotten to try a VapMan or Lotus yet, I was close with VM and the vapstation, but I don't trust myself with its torch technique so much at least on paper, I can be inconsistent.

Hey with a way to make alternative enegery (solar or kinetic), perhaps any electronic vape could work as well... Apocalypse logs anyone?

As for Pam, I'd have to guess a Grasshopper, simple and powerful to use anywhere... Or she might just be a regular Pax gal (though I'd push her towards the new Indica instead!)

I've often wondered about this... is there any way we could produce butane off the grid / in the event of collapse??

It's super easy :p I had no prior experience with flame-based vapes or torch lighters, but for me Vapman was a good experience right from the start

She probably prefers something with a bit more ... girth
And cocaine!!

Not practically AFAIK. And you'd still need to compress/cool it. Methane you can get to, but it gets tough after that. Best to drill for it......

However most any suitable fuel (including Methane and Ethanol) can be made to burn in an appropriate rig. Or gasoline/kerosene in a pump up blowtorch. In fact, you could do it with a table top lamp and blowpipe. Even a candle. You just need to control the heat, a blowpipe can give you that.

If anyone remembers the episode pam is huge on teotwawki and gay for doomsday a coding tk carol haha so I'm sure she has one!! VG coil just turned up so that's a contender! Can't wait to compare it to the VM. Gotta drive in an hour so I'll give it a go when I'm back.
Also Vapman station looks amazingggg

Got the J hook and grinder in the mail just now, had to try them of course.. J hook, meh. I realized after I got the Vapman that it's not a "fat cloud" producer, the way we use it anyway! Kinda pointless using the glass. It's cooler, but all the holes are open, so it is anyway. Can't see anything in the glass, it's kinda awkward to put on it, the middle section moves too easily. Just meh. Love Vapman in it's original configuration! But the herb grinder gets full thumbs up for Effectiveness Bonus +9
Did I mention that I love this vape??
DH and I are vaped already - that never happens! It's only 1pm. I think he only hit it the once!! Seriously, seriously effective.

Funny people's different ideas, I'm really thinking about ordering a J hook for the vapman and coil (been playing all morning, won't be replacing the VM any time soon). I consider the VM a surprisingly big hitter. Although heat and hit straight off the vape works awesomeeee too !

BBQing a loan?

That thing looks awesome! Are they in production anywhere ?

Well guys, the weeks up. Used the vm as my only vape (excluding the brief play with the coil... But it just turned up so I had to!) sparked the HA up for a longggg low temps .5 sesh but the Swiss miss knows it's all love! I suspect she may wind up the DD.

Check this out...

I sold a vapman to an all time cumbusting friend of mine and a few days later I asked for his opinion.

He told me that he got almost no visible vapor and didn't get much of an effect.

I was like, "What?! Did you watch the how-to videos from the links I sent you?"

He says, "Ah... No..."

I say," Damn man, WTF?"

I give him a few more verbal pointers, and told him to report back.

Next time I see him, he says the same thing, although he did notice that the effect was much cleaner than combustion...

So I went to his house, loaded the vapman for him... Torched it myself and handed it to him.

The first draw gave him a very decent cloud. And he yelled, "Holly Hell! I'd never gotten so much smoke!" - yes, he said smoke instead of vapor.

Second hit, bigger cloud! - "What the hell?! How did you do that?"

I explained it all to him again in person, with the vapman in hand this time, and he was blown away by the vapman.

He told me he's going to buy a second one to have as a backup!

Everyone ends up buying a backup vapman, haha.

The moral of my story:

Something that comes so naturally to me can be a challenge for some people, and if they don't learn, they may end up dissing the vapman only from lack of technique.

So, I think I'm going to have to do some vapman demo parties, a la Tupperware!
Scantily clad female models/instructors would be a plus...

Anyway, just wanted to share this with you all.

Did some of you have trouble at first?

Peace.

I find this true for some people with the VM and the VC. Also with all other torch powered vapes to a varying degree. I find some people, especially those not accustomed to vapor, really need someone to walk them through the process first hand multiple times, in some cases with coaching to really understand process and technique. VM is one of the hardest to learn IMO.

Even some really seasoned vet's like my buddy @stickstones needs a lot of time with torch vapes to get the hang of it. For some reason i just pick them up and "get it" within a day or less. With some vapes like Daisy it was instantaneous.... others may need much more coaching

I think the key is to accept that under heating it is better than combustion.

Agreed, my love and I have been very gentle with VM since we combusted once each in the beginning.. But yesterday we got some decent vapor production, we thought it'd burned up, but no! An extra second on the heat makes a big difference! It's a subtle beast!!

I say just keep practicing!!! :science:

Agreed, although I think more important is to understand VM was not designed to make 'big clouds' but rather for super efficient extraction from a very small load. Folks that bought one with other intents (like big clouds) are better advised to try a different vape IMO. Not hammering it with more heat trying to make it do what it's not designed to do follows that naturally I think, nothing to accept?

If you look back a year or so you'll find the common problem with new owners was 'weak vapor'. The curing advice was 'don't be too shy with the heat'. We had to encourage new guys to court combustion to find the limits, that advice is no longer necessary, guys seem eager to put the pedal to the metal right off? The unit didn't change, what did change IMO was the expectations owners brought to the party.

It does what it was designed to do extremely well, some might say elegantly even.

I think big clouds are possible, but yes there is a limit. The bowl only holds so much, and eventually there comes a point where any more heat it's going to burn and diminishing return on the vapor production.
I think monster hits are acheivable with some care, heating hitting and re heat... But I have combusted more than once doing this (at least 3 times id day) so there is a lot of practise needed if you're going to give it some horse power and rip huge clouds... And end of the day it's not going to blow clouds as big as my hammer, but I definantly beleive it's in a cloud category above the arizer solo/air and the pax I have tried, as big as the VG is possible, but the wider air path and bigger bowl make the VG a little easier to get clouds from.
