Tired of Shady sellers of Herb

I know this is just a rant but I gotta say I am tired of dealing with shady people to get something that is legal in some states. I have not done it in awhile mostly because I can not find anyone who has any. Everybody here in backwoods PA acts like I am trying to get a bump of crack or shot of heroin. I am sooo f^&*ing tired of texting some college kid and him say that he will get me but ends up texting me back 8 hours later saying he cant do it or just not texting back at all.
I am not a party person. I am a husband with a kid who I like spending time with while blazed. I can't transport my mind into the ignorant mental status that I had when I was twenty narrowly escaping death multiple times. I am tired of that lifestyle.
The last time my "friend" was able to get me the hookup, I rode with him 2 hours away to get a gram. He pulls out the pipe and chiefs the whole way back while speeding and running every stop sign.

I guess the big question is- Why can't I find people who toke who are not idiots? I would say vapers but I really do not know anyone who vapes around here except me. Thats it I am moving to Oregon next year. sigh....

I live in WA state where cannabis is legal now. I spent many years buying from a trusted friend on the black market. The price was way too much (triple) and I never knew what I was getting. I eventually received my med certification. I am a child in a candy store at the market and dispensary still and it's been a year and a half.

I feel your pain, back in the 80s and 90s sometimes good cannabis was hard to come by. I've gotten my share of brick weed in my time. Washington will welcome any newcomers.

I was forced into the unmentionable, and I fucking love it. Fuck you dodgy dealers with your glass laced, poor quality, overpriced, shit. Go mug someone else off.

I'll get back to vaping some beautifully grown and cured, organic, original hy pro amnesia. Sure it's not completely legal here, but I cannot recieve a custodial sentence for 3 plants, so why not. Now 8 no longer have to deal with scum to get some herb. It's how it should be. It shouldn't feel like I'm out buying crack...

And as far as finding intelligent, creative, responsible, people that use cannabis, there is plenty out there, (Most of them on FC I think), but in real life they are not easy to find in my experience either.

I've given up dope on occasion just because I couldn't find a reliable source.

I find as I've gotten older, the harder it is to find a dealer coz I'm no longer 'down with the cool kids', or mixing in those circles!

If I wasn't so crap at growing things, I'd be following in @kellya86 footsteps, alas I don't have green fingers :(

Yet another reason to legalise dope and get rid of the scum bag dealers!

I too have been to the point of disparity with weed. And as we age, we get out of touch. Respectable, decent, older, professional dealers are almost impossible to find.

What we need is like a growers syndicate swapshop. Where respectable, intelligent people can meet and trade high quality goods.

Maybe If no cash was involved and it was conducted on private land, this could be a possibility. I love growing my weed, but the downside is I get 8oz of the same herb. As nice as it is, I would love the chance to take an Oz out to trade for other strains. And no body has profit in mind. Then we wouldn't need dispensaries or drug dealers

I used to have a similar deal on the go around here. But money inevitably got into the minds of some, ego also got in the way massively. Money is horrible, and I would rather never have it mix with my precious hobby. Unfortunately it's the way of the current world.

Anything like this should always be non profit... I'm desperate to try your amnesia, so know what you mean about swapsies. I rarely get any variety also, and when I do it's not anywhere near an amount I could swap some out :(

So keen

@1DMF, I share your lack of a greenthumb but as my friends continue to remind me, this is weed, it is a weed, it is very easy to grow. Breeding and selecting for particular characteristics, on the other hand, complicate things but I imagine it should be easy to get started with an established strain given my friends' enthusiasm (and past experience).

But yeah, I too felt the frustrations of shady sellers, even the licensed caregivers here in MA can sometimes be no better than legal drugfiends in sight, smell, and sound.

In an ideal situation folks could grow their own and go to a venue on private property and swap your product. Bring so much and trade for a variety of strains you didn't have or wanted to try.

Edit
Once I gave my black market friend money and he was working with these unsavory characters and all his product was stolen. I knew him a long time and nothing like this had ever happened before. I believed everything he told me, he felt terrible. He tried to make it up over time. For a while product was scarce. Also the cops busted him once. After that I was paranoid for a while. Eventually he went back to black market sales.

Getting it legally is much less stressful. I was always worried about dry times in the black market

I buy a bit at once as not to do repeat trips and just to know I'm covered for a while! But still find times it's hard to get on, also got on in places I'd prefer not to go to, and the usual draw with people being good then not good, getting back to you then not. Ignoring half a days worth of missed calls and text, so you go get on else where, then cop abuse off some idiot next time you are forced to go there because you "dogged" them last time... 8 hours later.
All sorts of madness gets thrown into the mix when something is removed from the legal market! Nothing makes you want to tear down the establishment anymore than having 3hunnnnna in the wallet and nobody with an ounce. Even when you rationalise to yourself fuck it, I'll pay $50 for a gram if I have to!.... Yet you can't? It truly is the state getting in the way of the individuals pursuit of happiness, victimless too!
I honestly feel this way about all drug criminalisation, full time drug addicts don't deserve this type of treatment.
There are many drug users out there that would bennifit from a legal retail means as some places where harder drugs are sold just aren't nice. Dunno if anyone here has had the displeasure of buying herbs off your friendly local ice dealer but it ain't fun! Had a mate get robbed $600 for weed by a bloody junkie dealer, and what can you do? Bloke goes to ground can't find him, we live in regular society so you're hardly about to start knee caping people over it and now he's in gaol!.... I'd prefer to not be forced into dealing with such people. :( it really does make me sad! Although I'm lucky to have good mates, general rule is you can keep yourself enough for 24 hours but if someone else is out everyone is always opening up the stash and you hope for more luck tomorrow! I can understand how not having a circle of friends who smoke would make it 10 fold more difficult! More noses on the ground gets bud bought quicker!

As for swapping strains I'd love to, but once again black market! Can't pick strains anyways
People just lie about them anyways And nobody puts in the care. Why grow 30 plants to take good care of to sell for the same price and face the same penalties when you can pump out 300 as long as they looks okay you're getting the same money and penalties aren't that different once you go beyond the limit... In for a penny in for a pound, and all out for profit! Nobody grows nice cannabis as a hobby and has excess, it's just not worth it as a hobby once it goes beyond a plant number that would be considered personal use.

Alsooooooo!!! The number of harmless pot dealers who get robbed is tear producing! Had a dealer once, nice as pie genuine bloke absolute ganja god. Gets robbed at machete point, 10's of thousands stolen and who's he going to tell? Junkies knocks over a pharmacy for oxy and pseudo least they get insurance. Outlaw motorcycle groups, extortion rackets organised crime and such, once you start selling over a certain amount you might have to start paying a "tax". I consider myself somewhat of a liberty lover, and even I would prefer to pay some tax to the government than an underworld tax collect! So much unneeded unsavouriness comes withprohibition, outlaw strawberries and watch the exact same stuff happen!

Edit againnnn! Only time have not bought weed when I could have. My mate told guy where he only sells single grams, so wasn't going to be great but it's something. Well I strolled up there (I'm australian so things aren't so bad here social economic wise so I bet plenty of yous have seen much worse) it's some apartment building with a front entry door and graffiti everywhere! Three ice heads out the front! Near a busy street I really don't know how it hasn't been raided! And I don't know why as what I consider a normal member of society I should be expected to go to a place, risk getting robbed or hurt, kick my toe on a needle or even just be seen going in or out of a place.

I feel your pain. I have one guy that is reliable and doesn't screw around with pinching the bag. Unfortunately he only deals with Mexibrick and the quality varies so much. Sometimes I pick up an oz and it is amazing, other times it is seedy brown garbage.

Kind bud is around but much less reliable and ridiculously expensive if it's actually good. $300 an oz for decent kind bud and $350-$400 for really good shit. Another problem with the local growers is they'll put 2 or 3 decent colas in that oz bag and load it up the rest of the way with buds from the bottoms of the plants which again leads to a variation in quality.

I'm sure there are a few decent growers in this state but I have yet to find one. I was at my happiest when I was growing my own but it is not something I can do right now. :(

I'm going through the same problem. Hopefully our country makes it legal everywhere soon. But ignorant politicians will be ignorant sadly.

Even with unlimited access to Dispensaries.....

Quality and most often consistency is still a huge problem.
Dispensary owners are greedy and unscrupulous.

What we did was establish a group of trustworthy friends, and we all grow different gear... Then we simply trade.

I truly feel so bad for folks that not only need this Medicine, but even for those that are willing to spend their hard earned cash on quality cannabis..

I've been in the same shoes, and it sucks.

I probably give away at least double of that in which I consume to my friends that don't grow, work full time and have back problems, insomnia, depression.

I certainly don't want the people I care about consuming cannabis that is overpriced, and chock full of pesticides and fertilizers.

This is a very sensitive area for me.
My heart and best wishes go out to you all.

Yeah I think at the cannabis syndicate growers swap meeting, there should be a small admission fee of herb, that could go to sick people who really need quality flowers to live and function. And they could come to the meetings to restock.

I would be more than happy to give away some of my quality, lovingly grown crop to people who need it. But in the uk that could get me in trouble.

Thanks.
I would love to see the day when I could legally try growing my own.
Growing looks really difficult but growers say it's not....
At CO dispensary prices----they SHOULD be selling pure pure pure herb.

I was lucky and found an organic CO dispensary which I was very happy with. It's sad they all aren't that good-----I sort of assumed they would all be really good,

The G Y O movement just might be the ultimate tip in our favor. It is certainly gaining momentum. Just go to your local hydro gardening supply store in the US and see how Humboldt CA labels are way beyond the subliminal with their yellow, black, and green bush doctors and lucky dogs.
