Ok so maybe I will retract my statement saying you shouldnt be moaning. After reading @Frank Reynolds post, maybe your situation isn't as great as I think. And if that truly is the current state of your dispensaries, then yes, you have every right to be moaning.

Sounds to me like your dispensaries are taking the piss, I suppose when you have the monopoly it doesn't matter if it's legal or not. People will still come back.

Even with the farmer's market, I've learned which growers to pass by...

I'm personally highly dissatisfied with the results of whatever trimming tech is being used now. I am finding that most of the outer tricomes are just gone. I'm hitting up one grower that hand trims still, and doesn't dry sift the buds to death (another tech I dislike). I'm drying & curing my own buds with all the sugar leaves still on them, with very little jostling.

I've been to one rec store, once.

Yeah, I do as well. I just have the delivery guy ring me on the phone when he get here and I meet him outside. I hop in his car we do the transaction. A bit sketchy though......

I can just hear our neighbors thinking, "Now what is that 71 year old guy doing getting into that car with that young Asian boy.......?"
Thats what I do. Except I meet my local Triad\gangster. You guys are very fortunate to be able to discuss this topic. I look forward to the day I even get to see a dispensary :)

Very jealous of Colorado dispensaries--- found a great one to visit every 9 months.
The first time I think I hyperventilated and was babbling---and the dank smell was yummy
The stuff we only dream about in our home state :(

Here in Minnesota I could go to a dispensary IF:
- I had terminal cancer AND
- was diagnosed with 12 months or less to live AND
- was diagnosed with severe pain or wasting disease AND
- two Dr's signed my med app papers AND
- I paid $200 reg fee AND
- was willing to pay inflated prices to one of the two companies allowed AND
- was okay with not getting flowers

First time in a CO dispensary is surreal---more bud than I've ever seen in one place and the delicious smell and it is legal. I did start shrieking---there's Super Lemon Haze and Green Crack and Blue Dream, each jar with about a 3 year supply for me....
And then the downer---- 1/4 oz maz---- what to buy??

Hopefully, legal worldwide will happen

i'm in arizona. we used to have a farmer's market for weed but i think it's closed down now. the law says that only state approved dispensaries can sell (with a few exceptions for growing and caregivers that live outside the 25 mile zone).

i've been to 2 dispensaries so far with many more to try. one place you go in and they let you smell the weed and if you are real picky you can pick out the buds you want, the other place has it already packaged. i prefer being able to give it a good look.

the last time i went, i told the budlady that i still couldn't believe that i could just walk into a store and buy it. it's such an odd thing to do after 45 years of hiding it.

we have a couple state OKed dispensaries that deliver but there are delivery companies that are not state approved that for some reason are not shut down yet. unless i'm confused, it's not illegal for me to buy from them but it's illegal for them to sell it. i don't have a problem trying them, but if they get here and it's garbage, i don't need the hassel.

i go online and check a few of the closest dispensaries every few days to see what they have and the prices for their top shelf buds are all within $5.00 of each other. it's so cool to know i can see it online and buy it 15 minutes later.

the stores i've been to sell pipes, vapes, dab units, shatter, wax, edibles etc. one stop shopping.

$300 plus tax on an ounce is pretty standard for their top grade weed. some go into the $350 range. they have cheaper ounces but the quality is much less. when you buy smaller units like a 1/4 or 1/2, the price is a lot more. a few sell an oz for $300 and a 1/2 oz of the same stuff for $190! what bullshit. i get a 5% discount for being old and a 5% discount for being a veteran so not too bad a deal.

i prefer a large selection of genetics so i'm paying more to buy an 1/8th of this and a 1/4 oz of that. if i like it, i got back and buy a larger quantity. we are allowed to buy 2.5 oz every 2 weeks. i go through about one oz a month so it's more than enough to meet my needs. every morning i'm like hmmm, what do i want to vape today...

both dispensaries gave free pre-rolls to new customers. both pre-rolls were made of shake garbage and i threw them away after vaping a bag of each. bleh!

i was concerned but i like the quality of some of the top shelf weed i've bought. i've yet to find something as good as my best but they are close enough that i don't feel a need to grow anymore. it's nice to have a repair man in without wondering if he smells the flowering plants 10 feet away. :)

i've bought about 15 different genetics so far and they all smell, taste and look good. a bit too dry but i rehydrate the buds a bit. i keep mine at 60ish % humidity. as an ex grower, i'd like to complement the chefs!

the budtenders are all very friendly, frankly a bit too friendly. lots of competition.

one thing i don't like, other than the price of course, is that their menus are not always up to date. when i look at your menu just before you open and see what i like, i don't like being told as soon as you open that you ran out the day before. it's lazy to not update their menus as soon as they close. i think they believe that once you get there, they just have to steer you to a different genetic. i think they are mostly right because instead of leaving like i should have, i bought something else. it was good but it wasn't what i wanted.

we vote to legalize in 2016. i don't think it will pass the first time but i'm hoping and praying. oddly enough, there are no signature takers for the legalization vote outside or inside of dispensaries.
