Given that it's his daily driver
i miss my Zion daily driver so damn much
I think these two sentences sum it up.
Even tho they have an extensive list of other units they can use, and the vapor production isn't at the level RBT is looking for from the Zion, @pakalolo and @Shit Snacks have still been using theirs as DD's. How many of the Z team who have Zions in their possession use them as their go to's??
Looking forward to hearing Pak's thoughts once he's had a proper chance to use his new and improved version.
All this fine tuning can only mean good things for the Zion, DPH and UrS.
As @HD Springer said
'Great things are in store for all of US. Sweet.'
@IAmKrazy2 I know what you mean about inhaling small particles.

05 glass. Top one is fitted with a Titan 2 screen and used daily. Bottom one speaks for itself.

My Zion stems look more like the one on top of your picture: no real plant particles but instead nice clear droplets of lovely reclaim (using RBT stock screens)

I do use Ashton daily if I can. If I can't my other vapes are used as a substitute but none can compete. That being said I still find that Ashton is way too strong in terms of effects. I have troubles focusing and working when I use it as it is always the full-on psychedelic experience with it. It allows to express the full power of my strains and at times it feels like those long gone first times of the past, nearly like a harder drug experience... Zion right before going to bed is systematically a rollercoaster ride for me. Astral projection until I fall asleep.

@KeroZen I figured you were a using Ashton on a daily basis from your previous post.(that doesn't sound right)

Talk about set the cat amongst the .. How many people all of a sudden have just subliminally said to themselves 'too strong' and 'full-on psychedelic' in a jittery I'm gonna piss myself kind of a way.
'Err... no hurry RBT honest I can wait. No, no I'm fine just need a pee.. honest'

As my signature testifies, I do have an extensive selection to choose from. Despite that, I miss Jessica a lot and none of them can replace her. I've reverted to my FlashVAPE and I do love the FV but it's a distant second to the Zion.

I'll stick my neck out here and say that the answer to your question is most if not all of them.

I can say this that I have refrained from purchasing a replacement to my Zion. I've turned to my lsv for a substitute. And when I'm away from home I've used my ff but it is NO comparison. I don't know if I can really find a decent substitute. I'll gladly wait for my production Ziion

Hey @RastaBuddhaTao, I had one of the earlier pre-orders but I never post here. Just dropping by to check in on things and review the current status of the Zion's official release.

Wanted to thank you for your full disclosures, also for your honesty. I agree that most manufacturers would ship an unfinished product. Some of you on this site have experienced that with another startup vape manufacturer that will go unnamed. I appreciate RBT's attempt to perfect his product before shipping out to customers. For that reason I am fine with the wait. I'm glad I locked in early because the love and care going into the Zion is really great to see; no regrets or qualms here.

To sum up this post I wanted to thank you and tell you and the team to keep up the good work! We really appreciate it, wish more businesses were run like yours.

Mr.P and I worked into the wee hours of the morning this weekend. The first night ended in exhaustion and fustration at around 2... Me with my head in my hands and Mr.P leaving without his beloved Evangeline. The exercise proved one thing, the current parts as-is cannot be optimized sufficiently to ensure every unit delivers Zion quality vapor.

So the redesign begins. We understand the fundimentals of what is happening. Either the heater lets too much cold air by or the heater is too close to the glass allowing heat to transfer to the glass.

After fabricating a few prototypes with added insulators between the glass and the heater the results where encouraging. Mr. Peanut will be stopping down to the lab this week to test various configurations.

It's a small step but being able to turn a problem on and off shows that we are close to gaining a full understanding of the variable in play.

Keep in mind once a prototype can repeatably meet performance we still need to build production tooling and processes which will take some time thus the reason it's hard to predict timing.

I personally am relieved that we are so close to fixing such an ellusive problem that was tormenting me so... Good to get a win every once in a while :)

all of the beta units never met the vapor quality of the early 2x4s.

So this whole time the beta team was testing sub-par heaters? There was so much gushing over those heaters... sounds like heads will explode when you get things locked down.

It sounds like an issue with scaling? RBT can make 'em just fine one-by-one, but can't mass produce them consistently?

Good luck with the whack-a-mole.

@RastaBuddhaTao no idea if this is any use as a suggestion but here goes any ways.
To keep the heater in a fixed position could you use a half lap joint perpendicular with the vertical center piece of mica.
xWQjGm0m.jpg

Assuming the lighter colored piece in the illustration is a section of the vertical mica insulator. If needs be you could place a horizontal, darker piece, in a couple of places on the vertical.
Could the stainless wick be fixed to the horizontals some how. A small wire stitch in a hole in the mica and passed thru the wick for extra strength or another cut in the horizontal for the wick to sit in.
If it were to work it would enable simple accurate repetition. The wick could be placed in the ideal place/places to stop the glass heat up and cold air issues. The horizontals shaped to allow better air flow around them. My only concern would be the rigidity of the half laps. Hence the stitch idea.
Glad to hear you are making progress and I'm very much looking forward to the future reviews from the Z team.
All the best to @MrPeanut you've probably never done so much 'testing'.

Although I normally withhold early impressions, I'm prepared to say this without further experience. It is obvious straight out of the box that the finish is nothing short of fantastic. Pauahi is a joy to look at, hold, and fondle. (Yes, I fondle my vapes. You know you do too.)

The button is recessed perfectly, and so is the knob. Everything fits together tightly and evenly. There are little cutouts to let you easily remove the back panel and batteries. The little compartment is clever and handy. The stir tool is basically a metal version of my beloved bamboo ear spoon. The whole finish is an order of magnitude better than my dear departed Jessica. The great news is that this is the production finish. The rest will be just like Pauahi.

Fantastic Pak!

Even just by your phenomenal pics I can tell we've really hit production quality for the body at least. I knew our betas were rough, but now this is Zion smooth!

Great choice on the name too, looking forward to further thoughts, glad you have an amazing daily driver by your side again. Your take on the new heater should be key in figuring out how it stacks up to the past wonders
