Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Hello and good evening everyone, I hope all has been well out there! I myself have been busy busy as always, yall know that, it never ends! Anyways all is good been hanging with the boys, working wood, doing time with my girl, working wood, hanging with the boys and working more wood. We have finally gotten some rain here the last couple days and may get a little more before weeks end. We have been under a severe drought statewide, even had a burn ban in place by order of the governor. Its been really really dry, wouldnt even think of burning anything but being in the country as I am I tend to have a little bit of a fire bug in me at times, especially when I have a ton of wood scraps and short cutoffs, fire fire fire!!! Going to do some more gator the end of the week with the boys, got some Dales on the counter ready. Supposed to have a great day at church sunday, we are going to have a harvest festival, a couple of bounce houses/jumpers, hay rides, corn hole games, snacks & finger foods, just have a blast, the boys and I are so looking forward to that. To be honest I have been so stinking busy I hadnt thought my absence had been so long here, I have just been going and going and going.

@little maggie Got ya, all is good and I thank you for getting these out to me, you are the best and I look forward to working on the new stuff, maybe just a little bit though, have a bunch on the bench to get done now and plenty here and there but will make it happen!

@SSVUN~YAH Wow bro, thats old school there, lol, nice oldie but goodie! Hope you are doing well my man, thanks for stopping by!

@bounce5 Hello and thanks for your inquiry, I have heard of them and have spoken to a dealer or twwo about it but really never pursued it. Thing is I just dont know the exact length it needs to be from the top of the threaded SS cap, I dont want to make it to long and it not fit in the storage area of the unit and you not be happy with my work. Could you give me the length of what it needs to be and we could go from there? Thanks again and I look to hear from you again about this.

@jambandphan03 Hey hey, hello my friend, its been a long long time, I have so missed you!!! Its great to have you stop by, had I heard your knock at the door I would have yanked ya in for a big big hug, damn it girl! I am so glad to hear you are still at it working the glass I know you have to have come along way since you started, I would love to hear about it and even see a piece or two of your work! I hope you took a stroll back a few pages to see what all I have been up to, my boys are getting bigger and my oldest will be 14 on the 11th next month, my baby boy just turned 7 last Friday gosh time flies! I enjoyed the video, nice one, lol. I really hope you and your old man are doing well out there and hope to see another post from you soon! Wish you well and all the best!

@HellsWindStaff Hey my man, good to hear from you also bro! Glad you liked the read and all my goings on, been very blessed and happy as can be these days! Am thankful and got alot to be thankful for, God is good and has been great to me, even when I have been down and out with my head in a hole there are always better days ahead! Glad you like what I did and hope you like what I have for Show & Tell below! Thanks for stopping by and just holla at me when you wanna get something done!

@Eyedunno Well well if that aint a pretty pair you got there! I so dig your rig and the blackwood stem, nice contrast and I feel you are so right, the stem is so elegant, blackwood is by far one of my favorite woods! Thanks for posting up, appreciate that!

@TheWhisper Hmmmm so you say, wheres the pic of your rig and all??? Sure would like to see what your working with, lol! Come on now, whats the word on that thing, how do you like it, hope you enjoy using it bro, pls fill me in!

@ichibaneye Wow bro, thanks so much for the kind words! Its sometimes easy to forget how much fun these little pieces of wood make a good time much mo better. Like that "Nothing Wong about that", good one chief! Got so much I am working on bro, hope you will have a look below also. Thanks again for the kind words and pls let me know if I can ever do anything else for you!

@Elephantman562 Right on my man, glad yours showed also, glad you like it but aint going to give you a pass on not posting up a pic! Thanks for the kind words and I appreciate your stopping by, wish you a great time with it!

@rizzo Good deal, Ill give you a pass cause I posted up your pieces earlier, lol! Glad you got them and yes I too like the natural fragrance of that species, is always fun to work! Yeah do all you can with the oring design, I wanna know you put it through hell and so hope it works out like I hope, would be a big big deal for me and my work. Am super anxious to hear what you have to say, pls dont wait to long. Thanks for the work and letting me do what I do!

Now for S&T, I posted this mocked up earlier, the design is still similar but a little more flavor and length with a bit more of an angle but what you see is what you all will get! I feel very certain its going to be a hit! Its in route to the guy that commissioned it to me, I have not tried it as the unit he had sent me was brand spanking new and didnt want to be the first to break it in. I feel without a doubt that it will perform and so look forward to his results. So here we go

Lotus%20Stem%20PNG%203_zpsm1rkvu1p.png

Now, it has a 2" down stem turned to the OD of the widest point of the WPA, it has an inner hole that is pretty close to the OD of the tapered end of the WPA. The WPA has a high temp oring within a groove on the upper end of the taper which fits nice an snug down within the down stem. The down stem has a nice bead turned at the top and bottom of it to add a little flavor and match the beads somewhat on the draw stem.

Lotus%20Stem%20PNG%202_zpshaq9fhn5.png

The draw stem itself is 6"L and Ill be damned if I didnt even think to gauge the angle of it, never even thought of it, just liked the placement and had the wood wedge in place under it to give it the angle it has. Hmm guess I could have thought of that but hey we all know what happens!

Lotus%20Stem%20PNG%201_zpsq7r6mzc8.png

I can say that it has a great angle that fits nice in the hand and is way below where it is normally, I like the way this feels and gotta believe its a winner winner chicken dinner!

Lotus%20Stem%20amp%20Base%20PNG_zpsgkcpidrc.png

Now, this is a piece I did for the guy as a little something extra I just wanted to do, was the first attempt but think it is cool enough for being the first. Have given a thought or two for the next one, not sure if there will be many of these though. Got in a little hurry doing the base, its a really nice piece of curly walnut I dug out from under the bench in a hiding spot, had me guessing for a couple days what it was but figured it out. Anyhow was ripping it a little thin and ohh these Freud saw blades really arent to particular about what they cut and kinda got a bite out of my birdie finger on my left hand, wasnt nearly as bad as I first thought, did bleed like holy hell, squeezed it awful tight ran in the house under the faucet and light, gave it a good rinse and cussing, looked it over, figured cant sew up what aint there so I wrapped it up and saved myself a few hundred dollar trip to the ER. Just took a little meat off the end of it was all, got some neosporin + pain and was back at it the next day. I had a job once at a metal factory, we made AC venting and such for homes with sheet metal, they gave you gloves but they kinda hindered you more than helped you, seemed to always be in the way. Anyhow, did my best and quickest work without them, wasnt long after I started working there and am sure you all know sheet metal is sharp, a guy told me if you dont bleed 4 or 5 times day, you arent working hard enough, hmmm didnt take long to see he was right, took nicks and cuts all day every day to make a good days work. After a couple years and several trips to the ER for stitches I figured there had to be something else I was good at.

I hope you all like what I did for the Lotus and hope to have these available at my site very soon! Pls let me know what you all think and by all means spread the word!!!
Sounds like you need a Saw Stop in your life! Didn't you fuck your arm up some time ago on the lathe too?? I dunno about Lathe Stop...

Getting myself an African Blackwood Wong and Stem for my Haze V3. For my apricot Underdog I am getting a Red Oak Stem. It is 2 and 1/2 long, 14 mm with Ed's own SS bushing that fits around the heating core. I am super excited to see how these work with my 2 favorite vapes.

I've been waiting for the Haze 3 stem. Is it posted somewhere so I can order it? Actually I also want an underdog stem and haven't seen that either.

Good morning everyone, I hope all is well out there, gator steaks were great last night, we had it all, baked beans, baked potatoes, shells and cheese, and kings Hawaiian rolls, not a piece of gator was left. Have had a great past couple of days with the boys, took my youngest uptown to our court house square for the county Halloween shindig, dont think most of you all have town squares, got to think its a southern thing I could be wrong though, I tend to be more so than not. All the biz owners on the square setup tables and canopies with scary decorations with candy also, was neat, my youngest was a vampire, I did his makeup and all, he had a cape and scary vampire teeth, he got a lot of candy and had a blast, was fun to do that with him. My oldest is about to be 14 next week so him and my 11 year old have it in their heads that they are to big for TorTing, what kinda crap is that, so they stayed at home, not cool! Had a sale yesterday within my own state, this is a rarity, came with special instructions that the packaging be very discreet with no markings, thats the only way I do it, was neat though cause they are only 20 minutes down the road, they got on the internet to order from me probably having no clue I am this close and when they see the post mark will be like WTH, lol thats cool! Anyway been trying to catch up and make a showing, sometimes I do and sometimes I dont, in the end it is what it is and I do what I do!

@Shit Snacks I am really glad you like homie and appreciate the kind words! This version is a standard 14mm so I suppose you could use what ever you would like, its all on you my man!

@little maggie Thank you also for the kind words, now with SS suggestion and your thoughts I could see anyone using it however they would like with whatever vape as long as they had a 14mm male and I figure when I offer it I will send a few high temp orings with it so they could be slid over the male end to help with the air seal into the female downstem.

@Aezhenn Thank you my man, I really appreciate your words coming from a fellow wood worker, they mean alot to me as you always have!

@momofthegoons Hey there, thanks for stopping by and having a look, glad you like also! Hope all is well up your way!

@Quetzalcoatl Yeah might look into that bro, I have heard of those just never thought about it, guess its about time I do! I have been lucky though, I think this is my second time to have my finger where it shouldnt be and only having lost a little off the side and not the whole thing is a blessing! Nah I didnt ever screw up my arm on the lathe just been at the saw. If ya think about it though I have done pretty good not to loose anything really. I cut and turn 1000's of pieces and have been doing it since 2007, I have been very lucky, now dont get me wrong I am not trying to loose one or even a knuckle or more but you cant do what I do forever without spilling a little blood here or there, its the nature of the beast. A friend of mine said "Fingers are over rated anyway, you only really need 9" lol!

@Eyedunno Hmmm thats a thought for sure, will see where this takes me and see what folks want, could go either way I suppose.

@Reflections Hey there, glad you like the stem also, ohhh and pls tell me about the Dales! I remember you saying that you had to get some meat, I would love to hear how that meal went!

@rizzo My man I have really appreciated the updates from your findings of the oring stem, I feel that you are doing all you can and have been very very integral in this process. I am so hoping that this idea works out not just for me but for you all. No pin would make cleaning and maintenance so much easier and simple, its a no brainer. If it works I am going to have to make a new video for how to clean my stems. Thanks for all you are doing! By the way, The other 2 verawood stems have not changed color yet in the pic, have they done so more now since then? Nice collection also bro!

@Slow Draw McGraw Wow I remember this now, yes you did want to have this done. Glad I have finally got it and hope I can put one in your hands soon enough. I am really looking forward to doing this piece in another wood species like Cocobolo, with the size and length I could dig up a beautiful piece of Cocobolo that would be a stunner! Holla at me and lets talk about getting ya one done bro!

@mikeben Glad you are excited my man, am glad I got with our guy at Haze, he got me out the new V3 last week, I had no idea the difference in the stems, I was thinking they were the same as the other unit and much to my surprise they are nothing like the older ones at all. Glad I have em in my hands now! Ill be in touch!

@little maggie My lady, I hope you see the above post to mikeben for the Haze V3 info, I am also in talks with Dave at UD to start producing a line of vapor stems for the UD that will use the UD OEM SS tips specifically. I do make Nano stems that will work with the UD the way they are by using a SS bushing that fits around the heatport allowing the user to load a larger chamber. Pls let me know what you would like to do and I will do my best to make it happen! Hope all is well!

@KidFated. Ohhhhh my man, I gotta get with you also bro, I see your PM and will get to it just shortly bro, pls forgive me for the delay!

I hope all is well out there and wish everyone the best, be safe!

I picked up @Ed's TnT's Lotus stand from the mail on 10/31 but didn't have a chance to test it until last night.

It feels great in the hand - I got exactly the "holding a pipe" feel I was looking for. Lovely wood, feels great in the hand. The Lotus fits perfectly in the stem and works fine. It does have more of a throat hit than I'm used to, but I suspect that's the vape and not the stem. I'm gonna try adding a bit of cotton to collect resin and see what that does to the airflow.

My hope was to get a Lotus stem that was more durable than the glass and more attractive than the metal stem that the Lotus folx ship. I think I've gotten that here.

I wouldn't mind if it could be set down on a table and be stable - the one I have is rather tippy when I'm not using Ed's stand, but I think that'll be fixable if people think it would be useful.

So was about to change the screen but wasn't paying attention and the c-clip flew across the room and of course I can't find it. Anyone know anywhere local that sells these things? I have a nano stem btw

EDIT: Does Ed sell those silicone heater core stoppers? About to make an order and would love to try one of these but can't find it on the site. Ed if you read this could I purchase something off your site and instead receive a couple extras if you any?

Good morning out there, hope all is going well for you all! Got a surprise for the boys tomorrow night, taking them to the city for dinner at one of their favorite joints and then am taking them to the first trampoline park there, it just opened last week called High Heaven. They have all kinds of action sports rock walls, rope ladders, ninja training all that and foam pits also woot woot! We are going to have a blast for sure! This is just a couple pics below, its going to be crazy!!!

@caphector Glad you have gotten that piece and taken it for a go or so already! Yes I have given it and the stand a few more thoughts since I made it and will try to implement those ideas in the next pieces if possible. Making that piece for you was very tough at times mentally and your patience was key to it all brother, thanks for hanging in there with me, you really gave me a go through it, I appreciate you getting me out of my box! Pls keep the updates coming my man, you know I wanna know!

@vaplen I do not offer those orings, I have spoken to Dave about them and need to get them but hey I need to do a whole lot, I am still looking for that reputable human cloning company out there, surely someone knows something about it! I just heard this morning about the gene drive and how we can change a whole species in just one act of reproduction, I gotta believe someone knows where to get a couple clones! I did see your order come in, would you like that pack of screens for the nano or would you like them at 3/4" as they are? Oh hate to hear of your misfortune with the clip I am sure it was frustrating. Ill get ya right just let me know about the screens and I will get these out to you!

@RUDE BOY Good morning and thanks for stepping up with this info, you are a solid guy and I appreciate you!

@Ed's TnT I know you didn't have the o-rings but I remember you saying that you were talking about supplying them a looong time ago. So I figured I would ask. Also thanks for mentioning the screens I thought I clicked the e-nano ones but I guess not. Whatever screens works with my blackwood nano stem is what I want. Thanks for the timely reply as always.

EDIT: I used to work at a place like the one you posted I'm sure you and your kids will have a great time. Just don't run on the trampolines most common way to sprain an ankle or worse :p

Ahhh you are right @vaplen I did make mention of it a while ago, very good memory bro, I wish mine was. I will get ya fixed up, you can count on that! Very good info, no running, no way do I need to sprain or worse anything, not a good idea. I cant wait to see my boys and their smiles, wow what a time its going to be woooweeee!

As the followers of Eds stems know he has been working on a new o ring stem for the solo. So far I have been thrilled with it. For the users that like to clean and change screens this would be awesome. We are talking a 5 second screen change with no tools aside from something to tap or jar loose screen out.Personally I like the aged seasoned smell from my wood stems and do not clean them( kinda like a old seasoned pipe) ,but the fresh screen changes are awesome .
So far I'm still on original o ring and it has taken some deliberate mistreatment and seems to have settled in to a nice groove (pardon the pun).
This would be great for users and also easier for Ed I hope.Worst case scenario is that you change the broken or worn o ring down the road. the question outstanding is how far down the road on average that would be.
I would say after using for a few weeks that this is great news
Also Ed the verawood stems are awesome, for people who like a fragrance it is awesome .they haven't turned color yet and are slightly greenish still. It is a superdense ond oily wood, very heavy in log form.

Good morning everyone, wow what a time we had friday night! The boys had a freaking blast, I mean they were all over the trampoline park, they were playing dodge ball, they were at the trapeze, doing the tight rope walk, all over the ninja training, rock walls, open jumps, back and forth back and forth again and again! My youngest never stopped he was across the rock wall to the tight rope and over again, was so much fun.

What a time we had, the first thing they asked me when it was over was "When can we do it again dad?" LOL, I am blessed to have them!

@rizzo So there we have it bro, from here on out they will go out with the oring and no more sticking pin installed! I just did up a few for retail and an order out to a dealer this way this weekend. I will be sending along 3 extra orings per stem for suture changes. I really appreciate all you have done with your testing and returning feedback, you are the man! The thing about that vera wood is that you just have to lay it directly under a fluorescent light, I have a short 24" just attached to the wall a couple feet above my work bench for extra light, thats where the two darkest pieces you have sat where they turned color.

Now since @rizzo has confirmed what I had hoped for I will be implementing the orings into all stems that can benefit from this technique as in the Nano, Hammer, & Air stems as soon as I order more orings soon enough.

What do you guys think of my custom case for Eds stems. Bought a Man o War cigar box from ebay for couple bucks , stuck a firm foam insert in with stem outines cut out. Then covered in black silk from ebay for couple bucks and done. The man o war box looks cool imo. It is a nice black velvet insert on inside of lid and a nice imprint on outside of box. A heavy Sparta 300 vibe. Makes Eds stems look even more classy. Lets here feedback good or bad.
