Glass VaporGenie

I just checked and VaporGenie.com is now selling the lighter I ended up getting. A Lotus.

Very nice lighter, I recommend them.

My vector lighter has a super long flame on the lowest setting now which is hugely annoying. They are selling the vector for $3 now ... lol.

Great review Cann E Bus. My first vape was a vaporgenie exotic wood, love it, I get the best kief hits from the genie.
The vaporgenie website has now stated that they do not recommend vector lighters, they cut the $ on em to get rid of their inventory.
I'm wondering how you set up your kief hits..I've only tried once with my VG, and I just packed a bowl then dropped in a layer of kief on top, and after the first hit all the kief had disappeared..i'm not sure if i inhaled too fast (I tried to inhale slowly) or if it worked..but I'm just wondering how you do it.

PS. Great review of the glass VaporGenie :) I would love to get one but right now I can't spare the money and my wooden VG is still great!
I do exactly that, i put a layer on top, the kief should turn dark brown after vaping.
I gave away my vaporgenie to a friend, I'm very interested in this glass piece, I'm sure the herb taste is out of this world.

I agree, I think the taste of this would be really close to top-end glass vaporizers like VHW/herborizer (when used with proper heatsource like f.e. i-tal hempwick lighter) Thats why I ordered one :D .. will post a review later.

Finally my Glass VG has arrived (after the harsh custom declaration process) to my home...., consequently, I tested it today :brow: ... First impressions?
I must say this thingy is pretty superior to the VaporStar in some (if not every) points. (I will do comparative test between this and VS soon)
....Im totaly amazed, right now, how tasteful the hits are even with a regular gas lighter.
Also, I was afraid of the bigger pre-heating time (in compare to VS which has 3-5 seconds), but it was pretty the same, even though it has a bigger bowl than Classic VG)
...I like the shape of the pipe, it looks cool and the glass seems to be top-notch quality and its pleasure to hold it :)
Fortunately, It seems my :2c: were worth this buy.
:peace:

Looking forward to hearing your comments on this compared to the VS.
The glass VG is high on my list atm.

I like to use a jet lighter with my VS. Anyone like jet lighter's with there VG ?

I do, and I also do on my regular VG...I " pre-heat" the glass and ceramic filter alone with the jet flame lighter and, after afew seconds, I put it on the main part.

This allows first to draw 1 or 2 times with no heating at all ... very flavonod and smoooth draws. :brow:

I also use a jet ligher after, when the bowl is on the VG....quite a learning curve
Feu26.gif
:ko: .......but very similar to the one you'll have with a regular lighter. ;)

So i received the latest addition to my arsenal this afternoon.

I'm a sucker for accessories so i got the axe pack and a lotus lighter as well. The axe pack is real handy, lots of pockets for your tools and goodies. The lotus seem pretty solid. There was a little bit of gas in there but not enough to really see it at full strength so i'll have to wait till i get some good fuel for him. Bic lighter worked fine anyway!

The glass piece feels awsome, just the right size. Small enough to stash away easily. Fits nicely in the hand. Looks pretty sweet as well. Definitely looks like your smoking crack so i would keep it away from prying eyes ;)

I loaded a little over 0.1g just covering the screen with a thin layer. First time i've used a genie and it was really quite easy to get the hang of. Every time i hit it i got a decent lung full of fairly nice tasting vapor. Stirred after 3 big hits. Another couple of solid ones and i unloaded and ground up my herb a little more then got another couple of pulls. Vaped material appeared lighter than out of any other vape i have. Happily medicated. So in my book that's pretty damn good for a first attempt. So good that i posted here!

The experience was a lot like smoking a pipe back in the old days. Was really quite satisfying. I imagine the hits will only get better wih more practice.

So the screen is wedged down there pretty tight. How does everyone get their screen out come cleaning time?? After 1 session i can already see that cleaning will need to be a regular occurence.
Also all along the inside of the glass there is very fine particles of what looks like green herb. A little off putting seeing that. I guess i'm sucking some of that into my mouth and lungs.

But all in all i'm very happy with it. It will definitley be a big part of the rotation!

I just take a long screw and gentlly screw it into the screen and pull it out and put in a new one. You are going to want to get the replacement screens from vapor genie.

Yeah it does build up there but cleans easily. I normally clean it once the air flow is restricted enough to be annoying (about once a month for once daily use).

Cool. Thanks. I was hoping to be able to remove the screen after each session to clean the muck from just underneath. But short of finding a long and very thin pin with a bend in the end i think i'll have to be happy with cleaning less regularly. I'm sure it doesn't matter till airflow is restricted anyway. More of a visual disturbance than anything else. And yes i did grab a pack of screens with my original order. Great advice for any model of vaporizer. You learn that little doozy after your first vape purchase!! ;)

After a few days of usage i must agree with the previous claims of great tasting vapours. I tend to find the taste on inhalation to be very nice but what i do notice more is the lingering aftertaste that just blows me away. I get this with my VHW as well and it's clearly an all glass pathway thingy. The taste of MJ just permeates throughout my lungs and mouth and sinuses and throughout my whole body. It's like i'm oozing that MJ taste from all my pores. It's lovely :D and lingers a lot longer with this device more than any other i have used.

Also this device is extremely quick to use. I can walk in the door from work and be packed and ripping in a matter of seconds! Granted i can do that with my PD as well. But worth mentioning.

All this weed porn describing how great the glass Vapor Genie is gave me a hard on to buy one, ARGHHHHH out of stock. I hate it when that happens. The great reviews must have caused a rush of buyers to head over to the VG website.

short update:

It seems the hemp-wick works with glass VG perfectly, while,
surprisingly, using hemp-wick with vaporstar tastes actually worse than with butane-lighter. This is because of the vaporstar's metal cap which "blocks" incoming flame. Consequently, touching flame deposits soot and creates also bad "metal" flavour. Therefore, using butane lighter with VS is better choice.

So, this is a big advantage of the heating desing of the VaporGenie, though ...
coming soon: promised and delayed detailed comparison 'Glass VG vs VaporStar review' :D:D

PS: bad news, my glass VG has shattered :(. Fortunately, my friend give me my VaporStar back :p <3
im now considering buying phyto-lab vaporizer but im afraid of dangerous heated metal bowl.

ps2: to also support VaporStar, I have also noticed slightly better efficiency rate in case of VaporStar then by GlassVG.
Reasons are: smaller bowl, big metal-cap covering sides of the bowl and an heating element which tends to keep steady temperature better.

How did it break? Would you consider it fragile?
I was thinking about getting a vaporizer to a family member for Christmas and since she smokes a pipe now I thought the Glass VaporGenie would be an easy transition that wouldn't require her to change to much, I cant see her using a plug in.

It was unlucky accident, but I can definitely recommend it to her. It is not so fragile, just as any other glass pipe- it is breakable.

How long does it take for it to get dirty? Is it residue material or that ambered colored oil like in the extremes tubes?

Not real long, but it's all honey (and some fossilized kief in this case)

so its like a lightbulb vape?
The heating element is a ceramic filter that is heated with a candle flame or torch flame, then air is drawn through it to heat up the herb.

Read about it on their official website, www.VaporGenie.com

PS The glass VaporGenies are back in stock and I ordered mine yesterday!! I'm so excited

:o That pipe must smell so nice with that condensed vapor. Collecting it must be so easy... Jealous!

Oh man reading this thread makes me want to drop another hunderd on one o these suckers, specially all the vape porn about how the milk tastes like heaven made a baby with a bowl full of happyness.
Would anyone care to compare the "Happyness Levels" after vaping with the handcarved VG, Glass VG and the VS?

When I made the transition form the VS to the VG I definitely noticed a difference in the "velocity" of the high, probably as a result of the different styles of execution. Is there another shift in such style and "velocity" with the Glass VG?

Man I love my wordy, wordy posts...haha...:science:

edit: I was so vaked.

Is there any chance of inhalation from what a torch flame produces?
