I think I spend a lot on GonG's each year!

Is the EVO efficient?
mY WIFE who never has inhaled cannabis will buy me one for Xmas.
She was looking at my GonG consumption and she said is was a gimmick for greed!
Please don't take this the wrong way but I would be worried about you breaking the "bamboo" considering your history with gongs. A much more expensive "gong" to replace.

I got my shipping notice yesterday but it didn't actually ship until today. Looks like I should have it Saturday. Was hoping to have it sooner as I thought it would be shipping from Ca but it looks like it's coming from Pa. Oh well I just hope it arrives safe and it works as it should.

For the larger heavier hits how much are you guys loading in each elb? And does the EVO still perform as good then compared to with a smaller sized load?

It seems .1 is an extremely popular choice but I feel like that could only produce so much vapor. But please correct me if I am wrong!

.1 should give you plenty of thick clouds. It's been awhile since I weighed anything but if I get to vape tonight before bed I'll weigh out .1 and run it through a typical session and count out how many solid rips I get.

Lowest dial position on my unit is at 7 o`clock rest at 12 and highest position around 5.
Would be interesting to know if it is the same for you guy`s with the dial resting at 11 or if your dial starts at 6 and goes up to a something like 4 o'clock position.
Maybe the hole spectrum is just shifted an hour on the dial.

@Socks And Sandals nice package you got there.
Small loads will be vaped to an almost completely even color if i pack more, like half or 3/4 of an elb, i get a darker spot in the middle. Don`t think there will be much potency left if there are some lighter spot's.
For the nail, clean up time on highest setting is something around 5 min. There will be a ring of dark gooey residue that would not come of that easy. You might need too use some steel wool to scrape it of, temperature and iso will help with that. I had a hard time getting it completely clean.
Whit the red light we might need a little more description on when it occurs.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah for some reason.. the lowest position on my unit is 6 exactly and the highest position on mine is 4 exactly. But as you know, mine rests at 11 so I'm beginning to think the 11 o clock position notch units might actually be set lower. The reason why I'm coming to this conclusion is because I read some of this thread and some people can actually combust while I can leave my unit on the highest setting.. 4pm for over 30 mins and don't have to worry about a thing.

It seems as if the 11 o clock notch units (appears to be the new units during the sale) are set lower. I'd love to see if anyone else who has a "Noon Notch Unit" has different higher and lower max temps than you do.

@ everyone else.. thanks for the replies.. love to hear others post their Max and Min dial settings with either an 11 o clock or noon unit.

In the meantime.. damn fellas.. pardon my french.. but this vape is one stinky mother fucker!!! Haha!:p

All my units were 12 notch. And all of them had their lowest point at 7 and highest at 5. Perfectly symmetric.
All of this (knob working the same way, the notch in middle, but the white line alwys shoing 1 hour less even at min/max) sounds to me like the white line is painted 1 hour to the left in the current batch. I don't know why or if its intentional, but it's weird.
Still better than my first EVO that came without the knob installed so I had to intall a knob from my previous busted OG Cloud. (Thankfully those OG knobs had a visible screw, I have no idea how to install the new ones.)

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I am very interested in purchasing a Cloud Evo. I have noticed a few people talking about a sale that is going on? Can anyone tell me the website's that are having these sales?

I have noticed the unit is going for $349 on VapXhales direct website.

Also noticed that vapornation.com is having a 20% off sale which makes it $280. Does anyone else know of any better sales or recommendations? That would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I think the manufacturer sale is over as well, and those might be the new lower prices going forward!

At the moment the code they are letting me offer is the same...'stickstones' gets 10% off the order.

Ha after all that stress its just the new pricing, hopefully the deal doesn't get any better ;)

So maybe this does mean a digital or mini Cloud Evo version is coming soon? :sherlock:

In any case looks like my replacement should go out today! Love the quick turn around

...the fragile "bamboo" is the main reason i have not pick-up an EVO.

maybe it's not as fragile as i was lead to believe while doing my pre-purchase reading... kinda sounds odd to me to have such a delicate main component?

It's glass, so if you drop it on the floor or knock it off the table, there's a very high chance it will break. But the same thing would go for any glass component. It's the trade off you make when you want to use glass.

If you're not knocking to the ground, there's no reason the bamboo should break during normal usage.

Is the bamboo hard to clean?
Not really but you have to understand what you are doing. For basic cleaning an alcohol wipe wrapped around a tool of some kind will suffice. If deeper cleaning is necessary because you get oil further down past the restrictions then a wash bottle with ISO and a plug or balloon on the ends will work. You just have to make sure you don't dump ISO through the crumb shield into the heater compartment or the lower electronics bay.

Anyone else with a hydrabase or device of similar orientation ever just get real high n drop the Elb straight into the gong n submerge it in water?...I feel I do this way too often

:D
I did that one morning when I was still half asleep. Went all the way down in my piece into the water. Not a great way to start your morning

Hey thanks for letting me know. Do you remember when they were purchased exactly? I sent vapexhale an email about this and am waiting to hear back from them. It isn't going to matter if they can change the notch unless the max temps are adjusted to 7 and 5 as well. As you know.. mine is 6 and 4.

I'm not so sure about the white line being painted incorrectly.

Seems like the guys that bought their Evo's during the sale were mostly set at 11 from what I've read here. I'll give them all call tomorrow and hopefully I'll get an email response too.

Finally got the Evo after years of following the original Cloud thread with OG tickers and all.

My notch also rests at 11, which sets my OCD tendencies off, but I'd gladly take that as a trade off for the sale price.

Also noticed a fairly strong neoprene smell after toggling on, when my nose is held above the unit. A burn-off of the factory freshness at dial 4 (max) seems reasonable, and the smell is diminishing. Gives me some time to clean the glass / ELBs.

Yeah forgot to mention, I think mine had a noon notch after all, but again really couldn't be sure I was feeling any notch at all...

In any case a replacement Evo and Hydratree are on their way to me now. Hopefully the Evo isn't as a factory fresh smelling as the last one, being on its own without the kit. And hopefully the tube is more perfect, love that thing.

Jeff was great and had it sent as soon as mine started to ship back to them. He also tried to have the signature waived for me so we'll see about that when tracking updates.

Should have it Friday, in time for weekend testing again! Gonna be fun on a bun

Yeah the notch is readily apparent, if you had to search for one, that was an abnormality.

But holy shit, finally living in the clouds. Quit vaporizing after my Supreme broke, and the MFLB just wasn't cutting it compared to smoking. Thanks to the EVO, finally going vapor only. Missed the taste.

The notch does seem to be an imperfection, as if the dial wasn't shifted enough to lead to good alignment. Otherwise, from a design perspective, asymmetry here is undesirable. Perhaps a quality control issue, which is understandble. Doesn't affect function at all, cause the clouds are beautiful. :leaf:

Is there a way to use the VapeXnails without leaving the black residue sitting at the bottom of the tube? Is this just cause i have poor quality wax (i think its good quality, but illegal state so idk)?

I brought my EVO to a buddy's house who only smokes wax, and he fell in love with vaporizing dabs last night. He literally takes one hit, looks up at me, and asks, "How much did you say this costs?".

I wound up educating him about his options and actually recommended he buy the VB2 instead of the EVO since he doesnt use flowers and the VB2 is supposed to be top of the line for wax.

But anyway, he was put off by the EVO because of the black residue it leaves behind on bigger dabs and the inability to take a dab and have a purely fresh hit each and every time (which the VB2 can provide given that it essentially cleans itself in between hits), so i was wondering if there was a way or if it was just my wax and/or bad technique in using the vape.

Nah, it happens to me too most of the time to one degree or another. It's been nice to have lots of VXNs since the sale. The black gunk can be a bit annoying to clean but after some heat, iso, and scraping (really minor scraping with a paper clip or something else that fits to dislodge what you can) it seems to get pretty clean for me. The super high-quality stuff does seem to leave less. Maybe it's a function of how much plant matter is left in it?
