Vapes on Planes - Traveling With Vaporizers

I think buying a new vaporizer and have it in the box with your carry on, something that was small like the Arizer Air or the Flowermate. Im so paranoid about flying with anything that would cause alarm.

The wax and shatter ecig type would be something I would carry on. I would buy a new one though. Something like wax or shatter could be easily hidden too, unlike our fav flower. The shatter would look like lip gloss.

Those are great ideas about adding the tobacco or the dried herbs, that are really herbs.

Used to throw my Titan in the carry on no drama. Usually fly around with HA, solo, vg and hammer and maybe a bong and a 1/4 check in. Never had issue. Ha solo or hammer I wouldn't take carry on.

Edit to note this is domestic flights and I leave from a pretty piss weak airport. Also worth nothing I leave butane where I work away or buy a can when I land and do not take lighters as they will search your bag if they scan up a giant can of butane.

@Tommy10, very interesting to know. Although i've taken (newly bought) bongs in my luggage before i've never been brave enough to take anything used and i definitely have never taken actual herb on a flight. You are one brave dude @Tommy10 .

Please tell me that you leave from tullamarine, lol. I travel between melb and syd a lot and always just have a t-break 'cos i'm scared of security scans. If i left from, say, mildura airport i might risk it, but probably not...

Usually fly between newcastle-brisbane sometimes newcastle-tull/Avalon.

Used to use the Titan out the front of the airport and pack it away. Now I just roll a couple doobies the night before. Have the bong, vapes and weed pretty well packed away. I work away in construction so work socks are a good place to put everything. Smoke a joint before I leave home, joint outside the airport. Deodorant and some chewy. Check that bag in, nothing incriminating in the carry on luggage. Usually throw the lighter away too just in case.

Also obviously goes without saying I'm not recommending anyone do it per say. It is illegal in most places and you're best off checking your local regs. The two main States I travel between as long as I keep it under 14g you're pretty good (American misdomender equivalent) normally I'll weight up 14g on the dot, pack it up then removed enough for 2-4 doobies to be sure it's under that limit. As I'm sure with the arbitrary crap that goes on 13.9 Youll do okay and 14.2 you're probably in a world of hurt.

But this is what I do. I normally fly once or twice a month and havnt had a problem yet in the last two years. Although the obviously only one year has been with vapes.

@Tommy10 maybe i should give it a go next time i'm off to syd. I reckon i'd be ok taking a vape (ok = not anxious) but i don't know about actual herb. I still think you're brave!

IMO You are really living life dangerously trying to get weed on a plane. It's always your own judgement, not preaching. A vaporizer would be fine if it was clean I would imagine.

EDIT
@hafalump I agree with you. It's just not worth it. In some areas the laws are pretty bad, in the U.S it would be a federal crime, even her in WA state, I might be able to fly within the state with my Med cannabis cert. I would inquire before assuming. I like freedom too much.

I've had dreams of almost getting busted back in the ilegal days, usually when I ran out of cannabis and started getting those wild dreams.:uhoh: Thank goodness for medical certs for cannabis.

Lately I have been having a more reliable source working away, but for me the risk and reward ain't so bad. Never once seen a dog and in fly over 30 times a year domestically. Obviously I'd be singing a different tune if I got caught, but the amount of laws you have to break just to be a regular person, this one ain't such a biggie to me. Each to their own of course, if you have anxiety about it don't do it. I'd imagine sitting on a flight stressing about getting caught when you land would feel pretty shit.

I reckon i'll stick to my 'holiday = t-break' routine. I'm a worrier when it comes to this sort of thing. Each to their own, though...

Every now and then I'll fly up without it on purposes. That forced t-break whike you look for some bud is always nice and much easier to do when you have no choice.

NEW LAW! Electronic vaporizing devices will no longer be allowed in your carry on luggage. It will have to be stowed in your regular luggage that's stored in another area of the plane. This takes place in 2 weeks.

I guess there's been explosions associated with vaporizers?:hmm:

Just to clarify, according to that article, e-cigs/vapes will still be allowed in your carry on luggage. They are only banned from your checked luggage.

Good find.

I went from one coast to another with my ecapple iv-1. I put the battery in my carry-on and the vape was in a clear plastic back under the plane.

I travel frequently and always need a vape . I've left a few in Ca, but Europe is always the big concern. I'm going to A'dam again in 2 weeks and was just going to throw my very clean Crafty in my bag-not anymore lol. When i've brought My Crafty To A'dam, i'd just always buy a new clean top-and toss it before i traveled home.

I just don't want any trouble , so went to Puff it Up and took advantage of their great Flowermate sale and got a Pro for this trip. I'll give it away before i leave. I left one with my favorite Budtender last April, but i just want to make sure i have a vape in good working order and no reason for the TSA to question whether it's been used .

I've never flown out of CO with less than a quarter and some concentrates on me. Never gone to any great lengths to conceal it either and never had an issue.

They seriously aren't looking for pot, and if they do happen to stumble across it the worst they'll do is toss it and tell you not to be a dumbass next time. If you're a real prick to them about it they can give you a ticket but that's it.

TSA doesn't care whether it's been used or even what it's for. TSA is only looking for threats to security. The people you need to fear are the Customs people.

Correct. I believe the TSA has even informally stated they are not looking for drugs.

I travel for my job sometimes, and have to bring my meds with me. Last week I flew from LAX and had 2 grams of shatter with me as I went through TSA security. The meds were in their original container and bag, with my doctor's letter alongside.

There was a TSA agent with a dog that just rolled right past me. If he/she were a drug dog I think it would have gone batshit.

Flying with herb is one of those situations where a good risk/reward think, along with some careful planning, is required.

I really think anyone reading this thread should carefully consider whether you are flying domestic or international. There seems to be quite a bit of confusion between the two throughout this thread.
Yeah no kidding . . . :o I saw this sign in Taipei on my way to the Philippines. There are a lot of people that don't have a sense of humor about this shit.

I would probably go with a grasshopper. But in all likelihood, I would tell the tsa workers that it is for tobacco.

That's exactly what I thought, I use the Arizer Air and borrowed some tobacco off a friend I was travelling with to pre load the stem with, and put the tobacco pouch in the vape case. I just thought why not.
