My guess is they will drain fairly fast and that's the main reason they are replaceable. IMO. Also I found 350's are a bit harder to locate in my local battery/ecig shops. As I was told by the ecig shop owners they all have been moving for quite a while now to the 650's in the mod box's for the superior power and run time. This was my findings. I'm not into the ecig scene so I'm not 100% sure.

As interesting as this looks, it's going to have a tough time beating it's competitors as a session style vape. At least the zion and grasshopper offer a different style of vaping. If this thing has the power of the crafty but at a cheaper price and more reliable, that would be wonderful. It's going to have to be pretty powerful and efficient for it to take me away from my Arizer Air...Why should I sell this for that? The goal isn't trying to appeal to new vapists getting into vaping, it should be trying to convert all the people from the Crafty/Mighty and the Air/Solo to come to this.

I have my hopes up though...

I find the marketing of this vape to be rather disingenuous and off-putting. To trumpet that the glass mouthpiece is made in the US, while ignoring that the rest is made in China seems to be meant to mislead one to think that the whole thing is US made.

Same thing with the five year warranty on the bowl. Short of cracking on the first use due to a manufacturing defect I can't see how a ceramic bowl actually risks breaking short of whacking it with a hammer or dropping it, which doesn't sound like a valid warranty claim. The warranty on anything that might actually break (the rest of the vape) is 60 days, a year if you register, and you can buy a longer warranty if you desire.

This lack of clarity is and intentional obfuscation is a huge turn off for me. Reminds me of a chicken nugget advert what said 'no added hormones!' Of course it didn't have any extra added hormones in the nugget, they were all pumped into the chicken while it was alive. But to the causal listener it sounded like it was hormone free.

Hmmm , i have a few flashlights that are able to use two 18350's or one 18650 , i wonder if this is the case with the sidekick. I think it was a bad move on there part to go with two 18350's due to them having a lower mah rating and most likely less run time than a 18650 would give but who knows maybe they figured out a way to program it to work well with these batteries.

Usage video posted on their Facebook today. Unless they were using concentrate or the tiniest pinch of herb imaginable it performed exactly how I would expect a conduction based portable to perform.

Super thick dense vapor at the very beginning, next to no vapor towards the end.

Edit: They confirmed on Facebook that it was flower, and one can assume they would pack a full bowl to show it off at a trade show. If you ask me this thing brings nothing new to the table except the unnecessary (for conduction) stirring feature, and removable batteries which is actually nice but not that amazing.

Then you probably should not get one. I am very impressed thus far and I think there are a few things here that 7th floor is addressing in a unique and creative way. Love the stirring mechanism, love the vortex cooling rod, the glass stem, and the removable batteries. Looks like one sweet vape so far. I do not expect this vape to change the world. I just want it to get me high. :2c:

While I do agree with you, I think it could have some potential gains on popular vapes. At less price, if the airflow and cooling can keep up with that of the Crafty, and not die after 40 hours of use, that is a huge plus.
There are multiple conduction vapes that don't require stirring, but benefit greatly through doing so. This is a wonderful feature even if seems unncessary TO YOU.
If the heater is strong enough to keep up with constant dragging and not lower temp during hits, that is a great job.

Now...is it going to compare to desktop vapes as we all wish a portable would, probably not.
BUT...if it does...if it's a power hitter, if, if if...then it would be fantastic.

Could you elaborate why conduction doesn't benefit from stirring? I believe it is even more critical for conduction than a convection vape.
Speaking from personal experience...

When using a convection vape, if the top of the herb gets browned, the air doesn't pass through that portion of the bud as much, requiring a stir. So yes, stirring is very important for convection vapes.

With some conduction vapes, the conduction can come from all sides of the bud, meaning everything is cooked pretty evenly all the way through. The Arizer Air gets a nice even burn as a result of the glass heating completely around the herb + the air you pull through from the heater. If you pack too tight though, the air doesn't pull through the top of the bud, and will require a stir.

The MFLB. Only the bottom is heated and some of the sides if packed full enough...if you don't stir (toss), you will literally only vape the bottom and maybe some of the sides. With this vape, stirring is absolutely required.

Hope this helps you understand? If the heater goes all the way around the bud with conduction, stirring technically isn't necessary, but will most certainly guarantee a more even burn and better taste, also splits your bud up allowing better airflow to pass through instead of keeping it compact and tight.

One issue is that people often think that even colored ABV equals an even extraction from a conduction vape. You can't know what you got out of ABV when it is all cooked at the same time. Vapor is lost unless you have some super-non-stop breathing technique.

I don't think stirring will hurt it?

I don't think anyone is thinking it'll be negative, but it shouldn't be the thing that makes you stand out from other vapes...They don't find it super important or necessary.

I most certainly think it'll be beneficial, and have wanted a built in stirrer for a long time now, although I wish it was implemented in something like the zion, where it would make an astronomical difference in the vaping experience.

There is a video with more than one hit? I can only find a video of a single hit.

After seeing a proto-type @ champs I've decided to pre-order. Looks sturdy. I like the access points for cleaning. The stir mechanism is cool. The vortex cooling rod is a nice feature. Removable batteries-always a plus. At least 30 minute battery life is decent for a portable vape. 5 year warranty on the heater.

Plus they are here in CO. I prefer to buy local when possible. Had a great discussion with one of the designers. He seemed very confident that this will easily compete with Mighty. (And has user replaceable batteries).

Any idea of the the heat up time? That might help a bit. 30 min isn't too bad. You would need a second set to get what most vapes have. Carrying an extra set wouldn't be so bad. Hopefully it vapes well.

There is going to be a lot of battery management needed. They must be matched pairs, kept that way and monitored. The low mah. ratings mean lower charge times but also lower run time. If used heavily then I can see you needing more than a couple of pairs and a lot of charge cycles. I would advise 7th floor to send out a good manual with a section on battery management so buyers understand Li-ion batteries especially when run in series. Little comeback on the company if they explain the situation.
