Heard from joe today. The eu depot has my esv and have just had a delivery of new fresh batterys. They are being tested over the next few days and then hopefully my esv will be winging its way back to me. Hoping by the end of next week. I actually cant wait. Mine didnt work out of the box so hope to be part of team esv very shortly.
Hi mate hope you get the new esv soon got my new one working very well its taken me a few weeks to get the hang of it. :)

Just so Dab HAppy!
So my honeymoon is over with the Firewood3 and now I am putting the ESV back in as DD. I only used it two or 3 times last week so I was a little concerned with what to expect. So far I have put 4 small bowls through it this morning. My battery life is only down to 50% which is much much better than my old ESV. My old ESV would have been down to 20% or lower from the same use. I did most of my hits on level 1 which got me 8-12 hits per bowl and one complete bowl on level 2 which was only about 6 or 7 hits. I definitely felt the effect I was going after.

Since this ESV is brand new and I want to see if I can get it to work without any modifications going forward, I have not taken it apart to see if the coil is bent or not so I have no clue what position it is in currently. I just plugged in my ESV for the first time and the temp settings were set at 340f(8), 355f(11) and 390f(18). I'm getting a very even dark ABV on temp 1 and the hits are cool and effortless so I'm not going to change these settings for now either.

I really missed the cool vapor. Ah, I think I may just sneak a toke right now actually.

So I just realized the concentrate pad for the Crafty fits perfectly in the bowl for the ESV (right up to the top of the bowl, though). Think it's safe to try?

ETA: Damn....awful tight fit. Not sure any meds would fit.

You should be fine. Check out this video where Vape Dr. uses a concentrate pad he cut to size for the ESV. In the video he claims the oil pads are a prototype and will be soon to be released but they never were. From what I recall, he just used the Volcano concentrate pad. I ordered one myself, cut it to fit, but I have not used it yet...now see what you have gone and done...I know what's for dinner now!

Enjoy dinner! Not sure I want to start hacking at my limited supply of Crafty pads. Maybe I'll try a small pile of screens in the bowl.

Not sure what kind of concentrate your working with, but you could also make a flower sandwich. I have done this before with the ESV. The great thing about the ESV is that the heater is above the material so you don't have to worry about the wax/oil dripping into the electronics or on the coil.

With concentrates, you don't want to load the bowl, but the lid. You want to keep the ESV right side up at all times so nothing drips down into the heater and sensor area. @Vape Dr. did a post about it, probably with that video

Yo vape-peoples. Been a prowler here for a couple months ever since I really got into the sport of vaping. Just wanted to give a heads-up that I was able to buy a brand-new ESV at vape-smart's website for $161 just now! They evidently have it on sale for $229 and over halloween sent a discount code for 20% that is still working (hallowin) and that brings it down to $183 and as I let it sit in my cart all weekend they sent another email for 10% off (iamback) and I thought I'd try and see if you can use both at once. Voila! You can. Free Priority Shipping too. I have bought from these guys before and they're solid. I doubt they make anything at this price but if you have been on the fence about this vape like I have or want an extra or a gift, you can't beat $161 with a free grinder. :)

WOW! What a deal! That is the cheapest anyone has gotten it for I'm sure. Good thing you have bought from them before and felt confident in purchasing from them again. Some of us were concerned about that seller as we have not heard about them before. You purchased a solid vaporizer so let us know when you get it and how you like it. Do yourself a favor and read the last 10-20 pages for some good recap on the rest of the thread. We have recently gone through the best methods for cleaning and use with some new users so you don't have to read to far back to get the jist of things.

This is a prototype oil pad, not from a volcano.
They are in the works now.

@Mr Mellish crafty/mighty pads are to big in diameter and too thick.

So Joe's in the works for a new firmware also? I'd love to get a bigger range of temps - especially a lower low temp end for a full support of different botanicals. Will this wish come true?:luv:

IMPRESSED how this tiny box can produces the thicker and quicker hits from concentrates, I just put my shatter between 2 screens and in the bowl!

Sometimes I want to use my ESV without to stir and to stir...I load it with concentrates and no more stirring issues!

So I finally got around to the bottle cap method. @Vape Dr. has been on me for some time to change my lid. I had all the pieces but I just never took the time. I grabbed a large screen from my LSV and crunched it around the battery like doc said. Popped it in the lid and I was done in seconds. I also stopped being lazy about the grind. I broke out my MFLB Finishing Grinder for that extra step.

It's only the first night with this setup but I don't think I'll be going back. I was so excited I did like back to back to back chambers! Lol

Best part was zero hint of combustion through all those draws. I could not achieve that with the stir lid or the screw setup. I'll continue to test but this is treating me right. Great mod doc! Sorry it took me so long to come around! Lol

Sounds like I'm next. I've been meaning to sit down and do a bunch of stuff to it.

I'm going back and forth between spending $200 ish to order this, and being patient and waiting for the unknown time to get my zion :/ Not until at least december. I can't see myself using this much when the zion comes, anyone think I still would for some reason or another? Trying to be good with cash but the mighty has me ripping through herbs...

My number 1 hesitancy is the lack of removable batteries, and only a few bowls per charge. I guess I could recharge it between sessions with a portable USB battery pack? It seems to make a good pocketable winter vape.

EDIT: Just did it fuck it. Couldn't stack the coupons. $184 or so. I wanted to try this thing since it came out. TBH one big selling point was that OF uses this thing. If this is his go to replacement for the thermovape line, how bad can it really be?

I would not let the non-removable battery steer you away from this device. It charges relatively quick. From a dead battery to a full charge, most report about an 1 hour to 1-1/2 hour charge time. It is very pocketable as I often carry it in and out of my office in my pocket. You will really get to taste your flowers with this vaporizer.

@darkrom Maybe this will help you decide as I feel I was in the same boat as you. I too am waiting on a Zion and my VAS was killing me last month since the delay started and it was my birthday two weeks ago even. I bought 3 portable vapes last month. First, I bought the miVape by impulse to make sure I had a new vape on my birthday since the Zion was going to be delayed. I wasn't too impressed at first but I see it being a great session companion for the Zion if they get the mouthpiece and capsules redesigned. I already had the ESV at this time and was enjoying both a lot but still I felt that my VAS for the Zion was not cured or sustained even. Unfortunately before I could really give the miVape much of a chance, it and the ESV were taken by servants of prohibition. This was kinda devastating in that it left me with only the Daisy as a true convection device and I really don't like conduction. And it was 6 days before my birthday so I had to act fast. I saw the FW3 go on sale on its website the next day and jumped on it. I hemmed and hawed through the weekend about whether or not the FW3 would be able to fill the shoes of the ESV. I wasn't even thinking about the Zion anymore because going from an ESV to a Solo is a pretty dramatic change. I just needed to get back to ESV quality and so Monday morning (2 weeks ago) I bought an ESV. After having both the ESV and the FW3 for over a week, I can say I am glad to have both and they together will sustain my VAS for the Zion. I pre-ordered my Zion in August so I know I have a wait. I also know it won't be so hard.

The big differences between the ESV and the FW3 for me are-
Both the FW3 and the ESV provide tasty vapor, however the ESV provides a cool vapor that is almost refreshing while the FW3 provides a warm vapor that leaves a slight irritation for me on my throat. In the winter the ESV is absolutely amazing because the body gets so cold if you leave it out in your car or in your pocket while out in the snow. The FW3 allows for temp stepping and provides more hits per capsule than the ESV does per chamber load. I find the ESV extracts faster and although you can use it to temp step, I find that I don't because I can get the ABV pretty even and dark to an almost blackish color on the lowest temp setting.

I think most of the other differences are minimal and don't really separate one from the other. The cleaning is minimal with both and takes little time when you do need it. Both give big tasty clouds with no effort required, just draw. Now with all that said. My advice for you would be to go for the ESV. That price may not stick around and the FW3 price is not going to change any time soon. I doubt the ESV will collect much dust when you get a Zion. The Zion just isn't suitable for all occasions. It's like my Daisy. She's portable but I'm not going to carry her around town with me. I don't see the Zion leaving my house much...do you?

Also, I still would get it from Vapornation over the vape-smart website and get Vapornation to match the price.

Great Scott!
I wish I thought about the price match, but I gave this site a try. I'll review the site if it comes out wonky or slow, or perfect and quick!

And yes the zion will leave the house, but its definitely not pocket friendly. Its kind of the ultimate night on the town in the car or hiking etc vape. Just nothing I want to carry in my pocket for a full day, so hopefully the ESV becomes my work day vape, and the zion is my after work vape lol.

The underdog(s) I have at home make the zion more or less useless to me at home, but exactly what I wanted on the go but large. Should be a good combo.
