I'm going to my friends machine shop and have some made like my LOTUS.

All my vaporizer's have broken GonGs!

I have 3 stems for the SOLO.

Looks like I will clean my Glass Water pipes and put them away!
let us know if it works? could be cool! eds tnt uses the steel bowls so i dont see why it wouldnt be a possiblity. soon i will buy a second silver solo for myself. wish i could find an old one with the PA function still! maybe some store still had really really old models in stock?

I have the wood ones.
I don't like swelling!

My PHVES stem with a chillum tip and loaded with GSC will have to do.

Level 3 I did over the week-end.
It was very good more like flavor chasing.
Last night level 4 and no cough!

I love water path!

O'well!

Boy, once again I'm solidly with the Lady!

I find myself agreeing with @CarolKing a lot.

In fact, she is the one that helped me in my decision on the Solo vs Air.

Great! Glad you broke the code and got on board. Really 'too good to miss out on', isn't it? Not to worry about the smell objections from the wife, there's lots of other wives that don't object (some even like the smell).......you might mention that......

OF

My Wife no longer par takes in the Ganj, but she LOVES the smell of both raw Cannabis and she actually misses the aroma of me burning fat joints before bedtime.

Now, she asks me to blow my exhaled vapor in her direction as she is falling asleep during my pre-bedtime session.

We started dating when I was 14 & she was 13 .... It was the Cannabis that brought us together over 20 years ago, perhaps one day when she retires from her job, we can return to enjoying this amazing plant together again :leaf:

I did a stem of GSC at level 3 inspired by you ataxian !
I have one of the wood ones on the way but I also bought my second Solo just now. A silver solo to complement my black solo.
The mighty is lots of fun but I totally forgot what I was missing out on!

It really just goes to show those guys at arizer did a really damn fine job of coming up with the solo in secret for all those years. the lack of enormous clouds drove me away from it but i am coming back to realizing clouds isn't everything...

and this second solo i'll be SURE to do the 8 hours on... i'm still pretty sure i did it on the black one but who remembers :)

I used 3 and loved it.
Level 4 is Medicating at a level suited for me.
However I will do level 3 again because the flavor is not bad at all!

My favorite portable for my needs is the SOLO hands down.
I have a few other's that had great reviews that did not please me whatsoever.

I don't want to throw anybody under the bus.

There is a lot of BS out there!

I do not trust reviews at all.

It's very subjective!

Welcome to the Second Solo Club.
It has its' advantages:

A Solo always ready to use.
Using one Solo while charging the other, rather than charging while using the same one, will extend your Solos' battery life.
If one Solo needs repair you still have the second one.

Excellent choice!!

I'm swimming and the water is still warm?

GSC in a very old SOLO is not bad!

Damn, I just placed my order for my new Solo on Saturday night from the fine Folks @VaporNation .

Not only did I get a fantastic price with lots of freebies, when ordering I had a choice of..
A) Rush Priority Shipping
B) Solo Car Charger
C) don't remember

So, although I want it here as soon as possible, I figured the car charger held a higher value.

This Morning, I simply PMd @VaporNation asking about how long the standard shipping option would take to arrive...

He replied immediately, informing me he has upgraded me to free Rush Shipping and my unit should arrive on Thursday at the latest.

Just received my tracking # already... My portable is ALREADY on the way!!!
Praise VAPOR NATION!!!
That is killer, amazing Customer Service.

I'm so excited....
The one single thing that I missed about combustion was the ability to medicate while laying down due to severe arthritic pain.

Huge thanks to all the Solo Enthusiasts posting awesome tips/ experience/ advice and Vapor Nation for the excellent service.

And this PA ability for pass through power....
if my Solo (prefix M1T0) has writing on the bottom DC9V -Heating, DC12V -Charging
does that mean my unit does it the good old way?? Providing I buy that special old charger?

Indeed, and I have another two reasons here to buy a second Solo:
Browsing at Vapes the other day somewhere, I noticed the Solos were "out of stock". Most likely temporarily, but I got that sinking feeling, because sometimes when you see that on lesser vapes it means they'll be out of stock everywhere soon, for good!
Then the other day,
I put my Solo on top of something stupid while I was doing something, and I just thought oooh, that's a typical place where you'd leave it there by mistake, and come back hours later to find it gone!! Or similar!
The worst I've lost so far is a brush from one of my first vapes, touch wood.

Probably not, they all say that. Easy to test, plug in the charger and see if it'll start up. If it does you're the proud owner of a new style, the old PA is useless to you.

If you bought it new in the last year it's almost certainly new style. The numbers on the bottom are not a reliable clue. Test if in doubt.

Ah, so the only bad thing about the old way, was that out of the box, if the battery died and you wanted to vape, you had to wait till its charged? Unless you bought the PA.

So, damn yeah. Mine works while it's charging alright. I had bought it secondhand and I thought it was dead cert to be some kind of special year hybrid, in that it had the airflow holes in the chamber and possibly the old way of heating with 9V.
Is it a bit silly for them to still print that on the underside?

Yes. I believe it even works if it has no battery hooked up!

^ eh? They all have the four holes in the heater area. Did you mean the smaller or wider ones? Because IIRC that was another change that came about around the same time that the use-while-charging thing happened. I think somebody reported here that if they disconnected the battery they could use it with the old power adapter. Sounds like a big inconvenience IMO. I guess they could update the numbers? Then again they probably still haven't even updated the manuals that come with them...

Old School Cheesy Quaver
I tried my new toys (stems) last night, with mixed results...

1. The bubbler, it's OK, but I ended up with warm water in my mouth! the glass seems a little thin also, so am glad I got a discount on it!

2. The Vortex 'Shorty' - Initial thoughts are :- quality build, nice thick glass and interesting design (single hole vs 4 holes). The length on the shorty bowl size is great and only allows a pinch (roughly what I was only putting in the stock stems). However, the flavour is amazing, really tasty hits indeed. The only criticism of the Vortex stem is it rattles like a cock in a bucket it's such a lose fit. It's even looser than the stock stems and they are pretty lose!

I have deduced in my evenings testing of the Vortex the following...

1. Uses less herb
2. Tastes amazing
3. Extracts far more efficiently
4. Sessions are shorter
5. High is more intense
6. Higher temps (5+) too hot

I have found with this stem I start on 2 and can only go to 4 (with the Easy Flow I find 3-5 the best settings).

I seem to get much more flavour out of the Vortex, with decent enough clouds at lower temp setting (2), and go up to 4 to finish the bowl, all before the 12 minute auto-session shut-off kicks in.

With the Easy Flow stem, I can hit the session for 2 x auto-shut off and go up to 5 temp setting.

I also find the Vortex extracts much more efficiently (weird, how changing the air flow does this?), I get really tasty hits that smack you in the face, before the auto-shut off has kicked in, the bowl is wasted and so am I.

So although the Vortex seems hotter and the session is over quicker, the high is more intense, it is more flavoursome and more efficient with the herb.

I need to do some more testing for a fair comparison, but no matter which one I prefer Vortex or EasyFlow, they are both far superior to the stock stems.

So far I have the EasyFlow winning on fitting (snugness) / session length / temps and the Vortex with efficiency and flavour.

Be less silly if they left the text and reverted to the old style sort of Solo "desktop" PA operation I reckon - just in case anyone from Arizer is listening?

I use one regularly and it hits really well - like the EQ but with much less fuss
:)
The air would be an absolutely amazing hybrid desktop with a battery bypass PA I'd bet...

We guessed, at the time, that they had a lot of base plates in stock when they changed. It is confusing for sure.

I think so as well, but IMO they'd have to move the jack to be really user friendly. The cord should not fight you, coming out the bottom makes more sense. At one point I considered making an adapter/insert that would replace the end cap and battery (have a cable built in. I made a couple such gadgets for the TV Cera:
sRhEYIs.jpg

This is the first version, it used an external power supply for 3.6 VDC I had 'kicking around'. Simple, worked well but kinda ugly. Version 2 was different:
0Ytuhc6.jpg

I used a small switching power supply in a plastic tube in the insert part (rather than the wood dowel in the first) to convert 12 VDC to 3.6 VDC as close to the load as possible (a good idea). The velco strap lets you put a switch under your thumb since the factory bottom switch is removed. Such a switch would not be needed for Air since you could use the same power buttons. I'd go for something like this with Air I think, finding 12 VDC is pretty easy and the using runs just fine from 5 to 35 Volts in IIRC so other sources are possible.

Then again, I buy portables because they don't have cords......

Ataxian does not drink wine from a box? What are you? Some kind of snob?
Funny you say that!

I like comedy.

Bill Mahr made a joke about box wine and I laughed so hard! (thanks @CarolKing)

I read mostly philosophy however I read Bio's on famous people.

Comedians are interesting people.

British Humor is all time and love their films.

French comedy is so funny as well however you have to hear it in French.

British humor is more relatable to english speaking societies!

I find a SOLO to be funny and functional.

Funny because it's so cheap!

Wine should be in a bottle made of glass.
A SOLO needs very good CANNABIS to fuel it!

I modify stuff to get full enjoyment!

I agree yup!
Today i thought about all the Solo's I have owned.
I realized even though i'm on my 9th and 10th solo (wow! double digits of solo ownership) I've never sold one because I didn't want it.
All my solos I either traded or gave to friends who wanted to start vaporizing or couldn't afford to drop the $ on a vaporizer.
then i would buy another one!
solos are so cheap, but they do one job and they do an excellent job at it IMO.
i've been using the solo at home more than ever!
high quality cannabis is a MUST!

However, i might ask a few of those friends who got solos from me a long time ago if they want to trade for a new one that can charge and use at the same time. i want that PA function back too... :D
