@Buildozer is being modest. Truth be known, he's the reigning FC joint rolling champion.

:peace:

I liked the cone joint the best. Sorry Bulldozer but I first thought your joint was made with a rolling machine. It was just too perfect. I'd smoke it with ya though :spliff:

I have mixed feelings. I know that combustion tastes awful now. Quite awful actually. I can't even understand how smokers can tell taste differences in different strains. It all just tastes like burnt ass now. But way back when.... I thought it was just great :)

Still the scent of smoked weed just entrances me. The enjoyment of smoking a joint with a group of friends was a bond. It was also a special occasion, and that made it more fun.

Then there was always the ritual of rolling one up. I still have the Beatles White album I used to use for separating out the seeds. Remember? If you tilted the album just right, the seeds would "roll down the hill" to the crease in the album cover. Then you could think about rolling it up with a Bamboo or a zig-zag.

Truly, the taste of a fat joint used to be much more enjoyable when I didn't know vaping existed. I don't remember tasting burnt shit. It was the taste of nirvana. Now it's gone.

And I do mean the 100% cannabis joint, not a mix with tobacco :puke:

Never 'really' enjoyed smoking the herb... grew up in a hash town... as it always made me hack, hated the smell and taste, even though I was a tobacco smoker. But to this day I still enjoy my import hash joints and kief pipe loads, and unfortunately I still am hooked on the stinky tobacco sticks

Fuckin' loved hash. Haven't been able to get it around here but I always loved the smell and taste of good bubble hash. I hope that still tastes good.

Oh, is this another of our cultural differences? In the USA, a joint is just cannabis, a blunt is using a tobacco wrapper with the tobacco scraped out, and I think a spliff is a blunt but with 50/50 mix of tobacco and cannabis...the last one is a guess because I despise tobacco.

Anyway, in the USA, you can have a joint which is just cannabis.

It's not just 'Lost in translation' I think... Firstly because until recently the UK mainly smoked hash, I'd say it's nigh on impossible to role a pure hash spliff. Also weed has always been expensive and you'd have been considered rather loaded (wealthy) if you could afford to use pure weed in every joint!

For me Blunt, Spliff, Joint, Reefer, Fat One, Doobie = same thing!

I've never had nor tried to roll a pure weed joint, don't understand how that works, how you get it lit or stop the papers going up in flames, get it to burn evenly or stop the weed falling out the end as a lot of skunk is well wet & sticky and block weed / Thai / African bush is too dry.

It's like trying to roll a fag with the crumbs in the bottom of a GV packet that's been lying around for months. You light it and it goes poof in your face, the papers burn down only one side and half the tobacco falls out onto the floor!

Pure pipe / bong no problem, even hash can do that, but for me a joint requires tobacco.

Not sure but I think I'm becoming a vapour snob, because even the thought of inhaling burning paper now sounds disgusting to me :hmm:

Wet weed is your problem... if it's properly cured it will hold a cherry, especially if it's rolled up. They light like normal cigarettes? Just smoke slower I guess... a proper roll with no "empty" spots in it will have the paper burning evenly a little "in front" of the end of the joint. The papers themselves will not "go up in flames" because they're the same papers that people use to roll cigarettes, and those don't go up in flames. The US sees way more flower than hash IMO/IME. And we seem to mostly smoke pure cannabis joints, spliffs (cannabis + tobacco rolled in papers) are not as common as just weed joints. Blunts are cannabis rolled in a tobacco leaf, usually a gutted cigarillo or a blunt paper. Reefer is just a propaganda name given to cannabis, and doobie is a regular (flower only) joint, and "fat one" describes the size of said rolled up item. Sometimes we roll baseball bats ;)

Oh yes they do, singed my eye brows many a time with a poorly rolled joint and the papers igniting!

Sometimes we roll baseball bats
Yeah we call them 'Cones' or Bob Marley's ;)

I've seen 'Evil Monkey' and other USA films showing a paper having weed tipped into it and then it just 'twisted', us Brits tend to laugh and think, "that's not how you roll a joint!"

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too
A...teeny little 'pin' joints. It's almost like there is nothing but paper in there, but it works well for him - 'takes the edge off'. And if it works for him then I'm happy for him.

This is how my FC'ing journey began.

Then I started putting a filter in my pin roll one skinners, then two filters ....

... then I brought an iOlite.

Now here I am.

Wow, it's almost neck in neck. Seems like a bunch of vapers still don't mind hitting a joint every now and then.

I remember being in Europe a long time ago and buying some hash. We opened up a cigarette and heated up some hash and I began mashing it all together in my palm. Then we rolled it up. I guess that's popular in many countries. I was young and it got me toasted, but it was harsh. Here in the US we like our joints all weed.

@Buildozer, I was just kidding with you. I watched the videos and realized that you handrolled. You do roll a tight joint. I'll be honest, I was never good at it and so I have a few of those empty cones to fill. I keep a few around just in case. Like when I go camping, I'll bring some cones in case my vape fails.

I'll never roll a joint myself, but if at a concert/social situation I'll hit one and/or a pipe. Not my preference, but oh well.

Under normal circumstances, no. I still have papers, a rolling mat & a lighter just in case a blackout hits and lasts longer than my PAX battery.

There is some nostalgia to rolling a good joint, but the last time I tried just for the hell of it I wondered how I used to stand it. It was so bad I ripped the joint up and packed a bowl with the unused herb. The flavor still tasted like a burning house, so I threw it out.

I never thought I'd ever say this, but thanks to FC....

Hellmuthafuckinno!
I passed on many many joints and blunts just recently in Denver, watching Doug Benson preform Stand-Up...

I initially did try in a social environment after couple months of exclusive vaporization..
I took 2 hits off a joint, and I felt like shit ...

Never ever again.
God..... My wife asked me to light a cigarette for her a few weeks ago, I reluctantly obliged...

Gahhhhhh, so, so horrible, again felt like crap for about an hour.

When I first started vaping, the urge to light up was very strong. I would just cave in and light up and be horrified by the taste.
This went on for about six months until my taste buds overcame my smoke addiction and the urges faded away.
Now I never ever combust; even if the Pope gave me a joint that insured my place in heaven, I would pass it up.
Well .....I would stash it just in case.

I occasionally smoke my pipe but last night I had my first joint (with tabacco) in just under a year
I sweated heavily for about 3/4 hour and then I violently threw up about 6 times
Really bad experience but made up my mind that I will never touch tabacco again
Kinda glad I did it
Will give up the pipe when I get my vapcap

These days I only smoke when my bud is way too dry and it combusts in my underdog.

If I'm with a group who wants to smoke I'll roll one, but I don't like hitting it much.

In my 2+ months of vaping i've combusted once (night at friend's house, forgot mflb).

I didn't hate it but i didn't love it either. Bad taste, bad smell but did the job.

What i found interesting was that the high was pretty much the same (i vape at high temps). It made me realise that i am not missing out on anything because of the switch to vaping.

I still light up a cone joint every once an a while. Sometimes on a Friday I like to sit on the patio after I'm home from work and relax. It just works? Instantly I'm forgetting about work and the weekend is setting in.

I have a Mighty on the way which could replace the joint but I'm not so sure I want to give up on them. If I'm at a party and there's a joint going around I'll hit it, (though typically it's me that brought the joint!). It's a bonding thing for the cannabis world in my eyes. I've met a lot of interesting people and had many a deep conversation over a joint.
